i'm of two minds when it comes to post-resurrection jon getting revenge on his attackers. because on one hand, the men were ... in a very misaligned way ... doing what they thought was right; jon had effectively broken his oath about a hundred times over, he was acting erratic ( in their eyes ), and while a lot their drive was based on hating jon to begin with, it's not exactly surprising that they took him out.

jon's anger might make him retaliate. and if there is a merging with ghost in some way ( thank you sunny for worming this into my brain ), that animal instinct will just get stronger. i don't mind the idea of him getting revenge, but to what end? the show gives us the scene of him sending them all to the gallows as one of the final acts as lord commander but - would jon even care that much? my gut says yes and no because it's not such a simple answer. if he does warg into ghost, or vice versa, he could get them back and then he'd have no choice but to leave the wall regardless. but if he is mostly himself when he comes back, what would he feel? would he feel a bone-deep sense of vengeance like lady stoneheart? or would he feel nothing at all, and leave the watch entirely at that point?

the guess at what the hell jon is post-resurrection is as good as any but i'm so reluctant to link it to r'hllor in any way because grrm has placed so, so many breadcrumbs pointing in a completely different direction - that there is a way of undeath through fire, and there is a way of undeath through ice. melisandre will certainly have a hand in it but i'm so attached to the idea of val, with her strange comparisons to the "corpse queen", being the one to bring jon back somehow, and inextricably link him to the Others completely. there's just. ugh. so many interesting theories, i want to comb through all of them.
