Dancing in the Moonlight || Amy x Rash

AN: FINALLLY! So so sorry this has taken so long but I really hope you’ll love it  @will-noble-owns-my-ass <3 

Rash stood in front of a mirror in the tiny hallway of his parent’s cramped house. His stomach knotted and hands trembled as he tried to fix his bowtie. 

“Let me help you with that, Rashid.” Came his Father’s gentle voice as he moved towards him from the kitchen. Rash sighed in defeat then nodded. 

“Thank you Papa.” 

“You look so.. smart and handsome. Your Mother would be so proud!” Ashok said with a smile. Rash smiled shakily back while trying to quietly disperse a lump from his throat. 

“You’re nervous, my son. Why?”

“Well.. I.. I really like Amelia a-and any social event like this is..s-scary.” 

Ashok nodded softly in understanding. 

“If you like her and she likes you, then there is no problem.” 

“Yes Papa.. but… “

“Rashid..” He began but sighed and paused. “Unlike what you may think.. I will accept whoever you want to be with. That was my lasting promise to Madia.. I will not break my promise.” 

Rash felt tears welling instantly in his eyes at Ashok’s tender promise. He would accept Amelia. That was Rash’s biggest fear now extinguished by hope and acceptance. Before he could stop himself, he hugged Ashok tightly. 

Meanwhile, in a penthouse apartment  across town, Amy was putting the final touches to her outfit for the night; a turquoise strapless dress with matching strapless high heels. A knock came on the bedroom.door.

“Are yis decent?” Will asked playfully from outside. 

“Of course I am!” She laughed.. 

“If you say so.” 

“You eejit! Come in and do my zip.” 

“Okay okay ya know I had to check just in case.” 

Amy rolled her eyes as he stepped in. 

“Oh Jaysus.. Wow..” 

“No ogling!” 

“Hey no m’not inclined but you look stunning hun.’ 

“Thank you! Let’s hope Rash thinks the same.” She grinned.  

“If he doesn’t he’s blind.” 

She laughed and shook her head. 

“Zip your mouth and my dress!” She half demanded. 

He laughed and did so gently. 

“There yis are. C’mon. Grab that shawl. Don’ wanna leave him waiting at the alter.” 

“Shut up Noble!” 

“Never!” He grinned and hot footed it out the door before she got a chance to slap him lightly. She shook her head again and sighed happily.  A few seconds later the taxi driver rang and said he would wait outside. 

Amy stood in front of a full length mirror tilted forward from its position on the floor for a few more seconds, touching up her already perfect makeup and silently talking to her Mum hoping she could pull some good karma her way for a change. 

“C’mon lads!” Will shouted from the front door in slight frustration as neither of the 3 Hardy siblings appeared to be ready despite the taxi already there.  

Amy took a deep breath, grabbed her gold and turquoise clutch and ran out to join him. 

The drive over to the hotel was rather uneventful. It lapsed in nervous conversation amid Cal and Ethan’s near constant jibes at each other which were hilarious yet jarring after a while. 

Will whistled as the taxi eventually pulled up at a hotel shaped exactly like a castle. 

“Swanky!”

“Do I even wanna know what that word means? Amy laughed finding his pronunciation humorous. 

“Like.. luxurious? Kinda?” 

“Right.” 

“Sounds more sexual to me.” Cal chimed in with a smirk. 

“Of course it would to you.” Ethan scoffed. 

Will laughed and paid the fair then got out before helping Amy out. 

“Thank you..that was very-“

“Don’ you dare say it.” He laughed 

“Very.” 

“Amy!” 

“VERY.” 

“Amelia Louise Hardy.” 

“Very NOBLE of you!” 

He shook his head and pulled a face. 

“You love me!” She batted her eyebrows playfully

“Unfortunately I do.” He stuck his tongue out at her just as a second taxi containing Rash pulled up. 

She cackled and turned around just as he got out. 

“H-Hi Amy.” Rash greeted softly. 

“Hi!” A wide smile crept across her face 

“You look..absolutely gorgeous!” He exclaimed and took her hand, placing a loving kiss on it. 

She blushed scarlet and hoped he wouldn’t notice. 

“You look very dashing too.” 

He laughed softly then smiled, standing in awe of her for several seconds. A contented silence crept between them broken only by Will who came up to her shoulder and whispered 

“Remember to put a scrunchie on the door later.” He winked. 

“Willam!” She tried to bat her bag at him but he quickly dodged away. Sighing, she turned back to Rash. 

“I’m so sorry.” 

“Don’t be. It was kinda funny.” 

“Not really.” She bit her lip. 

“I promise I didn’t see any harm in it.” 

“I - Okay..” 

He kissed her cheek tenderly and her smile quickly returned. 

“Shall we?” 

“We shall.” 

He sent her a radiant smile then moved to take her arm in his. She had to prevent herself from speaking as he did so but as soon as they had ascended the stairs and followed the directions to the main dinning hall, she allowed herself to let out a gasp of pleasure as she took in the room which resembled the Great Hall at Christmas with its candlelight and expansive glass ceiling.

“Wow. Magical!’ 

“Yeah. Yes it is.” He beamed softly then stole a quick kiss from her. She grinned and kissed him back before they found their seats at a large round table in the heart of the room. 

As they sat, Will and Ethan joined them along with Cal and Fenisha. Amy sighed happily and rested her head on Rash’s shoulder as she watched her brothers interact with their partners. Rash smiled warmly and lovingly kissed her cheek feeling the nerves flittering away. 

After a meal consisting of 6 extravagant courses, including salmon, melon, beef, chicken, a cheese platter and/or creme brûlée and tea or coffee, everyone was ushered into an equally grand library as the dance floor and evening entertainment was prepared. 

Ethan, in his element, went and mingled with some of the most accomplished doctors in the NHS as Will drank a Guinness and stayed with Amy and Rash, neither of whom were in the mood for such conversations, although it was plainly obvious to anyone watching them, that they were more than happy in their own little bubble.  

Beethoven’s Moonlight Sonata greed them around 30 minutes later upon re-entry into the dining hall. A previously cloudy sky had broken and the cast of the moon shone a magical glow on the tiles of the dance floor. 

Amy’s first dance did not end up coming from who she wanted. Bored and slightly annoyed, Will had asked her first as Ethan had completely disappeared and there was little sign of him coming back. She took the offer but her heart wasn’t in it. 

She eventually escaped Will when Iain appeared and cheekily asked for a dance. She couldn’t help but grin as she watched Will accept but then her heart sank as she stood on the periphery for what felt like eternity. 

Suddenly a throat cleared behind her. She turned slowly and saw Rash approaching, almost trembling like a leaf.

“Amy - I mean Amelia.” 

“You can say Amy Rash, we’ve known each other long enough.” She replied softly. He nodded and licked his lips. 

“Would…” He began but trailed off. 

Her gaze fell lightly on him though it made him even more nervous but he tried again. 

“Amy.. Would you like to dance? To dance with with me?” 

She laughed softly but it was partially her own nerves as she could feel her heart gearing up. 

“Yes.” She uttered breathlessly. 

He hesitated for a beat then took her hand in his and led her out onto the dance floor. 

An orchestral version of Snow Patrol’s Chasing Cars began to play as Rash gently placed his hand on her waist and she moved within inches of his chest. She hoped she wouldn’t cry, fall, or that her heart would be heard thumping excitedly in her chest as they danced under the light of the moon. 

“I love you Amelia.’ Rash blurted at the closing of the song 

“I love you too, Rashid.” She replied in perfect Arabic. 

They kissed then, in the middle of the floor without a care in the world. Both hearts soaring towards the moon above.

Teenage Dream III

A week after the three siblings had arrived on their medical summer camp, it was the evening before their free time at the weekend. Ethan was curled up on a chair engrossed in his textbook as his siblings and their new friend were sat close to each other on the sofa next to him, discussing their plans for the weekend.

Then Cal piped up complaining again "It's summer and we're stuck inside!" Ethan rolled his eyes then "Yes Caleb, we are here to exercise our brains!"

"Nah you're just here to exercise your ad personality."

Amy and Will laughed, Amy cutting into her brothers conversation then, her Irish accent stronger as Will had been teaching her pronunciation.

"Ah now come on lads, Would ye stop? M' gettin' a headache listenin' to ye go on like this. Now Cal you know I'm on your side and we can have fun. But to be fair to Nibbles, we did have to apply to be here. which you did."

"Amy!" Ethan called indignantly, his face flushing red as the trio laughed again

Will chimed into the conversation then, bringing it back to the original point "What's the craic this weekend then?"

Cal stopped laughing then, his face breaking into a wide smile as he nudged Will and pointed out a younger boy who had seemed quite taken with his sister over the week "How about we go down to the beach? Amy can invite Rash." he teased and started laughing as his younger sister went bright red spotting that he was sat behind them "Stop it" she hissed through her teeth

"Oh my GOD I KNEW IT" he said loudly and jumped up to run as she lunged for him.

Taking the distraction Will moved over to the boy this chaos was in aid of as he smiled to himself. Will asked him "It's Rash isn't it?"

"Well... Rashid but... Rash will do yeah, your Will aren't you? What can I do for you?" he smiled softly as he dodged the siblings still running around the room

"My friends and I-" he gestured to the sibling pair and Ethan still curled up on the sofa "Were planning to head down to the beach this weekend and we were wondering if you would like to join us?"

Rash watched as Amy managed to catch up to her brother and knock him to the grown playfully, smiling warmly at the scene he looked back to Will "That sounds like great fun. I'd love to."

Will's face broke into a giant grin as he bounced off to tell his friends what he had just done "Grand! We'll meet you at breakfast tomorrow." And with that Rash laughed softly as fresh chaos broke out as Will told them of the plans he had just made.

Summer Vibes ☀️

Summer was almost over and they hadn't yet finished what they had intended to do.

"See you in fall."

"It's summer and we're stuck inside."

Summer was great, because let's face it, everyone looked that little bit cooler with sunglasses on.

"We should go swimming today!"

The summer had always been a special time for them as kids. But the freedom they once felt in those weeks didn't want to come to them anymore.

"Why is it always raining here when it's summer?"

"Let's get some ice cream!"
