Just when you thought PDF files couldn’t be ant more bloated, someone ports Linux to PDF.
No, seriously. The PDF standard supports small snippets of Javascript for interactive content; naturally, though, the line between “small snippet” and “why not just port DOOM to it” is very hard to enforce. In this case, an entire RISC chipset emulator, running Linux, has been ported to Javascript and jammed inside an innocent PDF.

In a nutshell, a “Turing Machine” is a hypothetical device that starts with a specific input and — given infinite time and scratch paper to do its work — can calculate the answer to specific kinds of questions without any further input. If a process or a device is “Turing Complete,” it’s capable of running arbitrarily complex computer programs — but nobody’s making any promises about efficiency.
