It never fails to make me laugh how many mitskivans are like “oh my god Mike and El’s reunion was so romantic” as though the shot for shot identical reunion she has with her confirmed gay brother is not exactly the same?

Even more than that though: as a whole, if you’re reading the reunions as “romantic…” El’s with Will reads even moreso than hers with Mike’s without character context.

Like. El’s looking over at Will and leaving Mike’s arms to go to him + Will’s response to El (and her hand on his chest at the end) gives even more “I’ve seen the one my soul loves and run to him” vibes than anything with Mike.

If anything, she seems even more enthused to see Will.

In case it’s not obvious—I say that say that in jest. But like?! People have also talked about how the shots are cleaner between Will and El compared to El & Mike (no argyle, pizza van, blurry Will or dead bodies in the background) and honestly, if someone off the street was forced to choose which person was her boyfriend without a single bit of wider context…it would be a toss up who got it right.

Given how much time, effort and energy goes into these shots…those choices makes no sense for a canon “perfect” couple. Either they both read equally platonic/romantic…or you’re willfully misreading visually identical moments to suit your ship. Period full stop lmao

also the scenes between El and Mike are always so ugly from a strictly visual perspective... like even the reunion in the desert at one point you see Argyle behind and after you see Will in the centre... there's always something not harmonic in them... but the scenes between Mike and Will are literally stunning and super curated to remove visual interferences

like this would have been so easy to correct if they wanted to make them have a moment

I'm watching Stranger Things with my little cousin and its the "Crazy Together" scene. She's just turned to me and asked if they're secretly boyfriends. Michael Wheeler even a 10 year old knows what you fucking are

when byler becomes canon i can’t wait for the duffers to be like “yeah it’s crazy! no one saw it coming except for the byler shippers who literally got like 90% of all the hints and foreshadowing right, those little detectives”

Anytime a Milkdud brings up "Mike didn't even notice Will was crying", I just like to remind them that Mike definitely knew El had been crying and she was upset in the van and he never once looked over at her or acted like he cared.

Idk about y'all, but I would much rather have someone not notice I was crying all together than for them to notice and not care 🤷‍♀️

Also, I think Mike did pick up on Will crying because of this shot right here.

He turns to look at Will after Will turned away. But I think he realized that Will didn't want him to know he was crying, so he didn't want to be like "yo bro why you cryin??" when Will was clearly trying to hide the fact that he was from him. He didn't want to embarrass Will or put him on the spot so he just gave him his space.

But just the fact that he even turned to look at Will at all is already so different from when he wouldn't even spare El a glance in the van.

The main cast getting gitty and excited over the prospects of ST5 having a satisfying ending, and Winona mentioning the ending of Schitt’s Creek specifically as what they’d hope to shoot for similarly, Sadie and Gaten agreeing like YES LIKE SCHITT’S CREEK, Finn cutting in like yeah we’re the Schitt’s Creek of Netflix with Noah looking excited but visibly nervous, all while Brett cackles and David is just going 🤠☝️in the background, is all the byler endgame evidence I’ll ever need.

I already talked in my other post about how I found Will acted very suspiciously in the episode "the flayed" from season 3.

But I want to mention some other details that might be reachs.

Doesn't the position of Will's hands remind you of something?

This had also happened when Billy was possessed, he happened to have the same mannerisms as Henry.

In this scene where Nancy asks a question to the guys we can see that apparently Will still has the same position in his hands but he is the only one in the party whose face we can't see.

Will being the only one being in the frame with El as she talks about flayed Billy and the way Will stares at El.
