Hi all! I just wanna say I’m so sorry for not posting. Ik this is the cliche fanfic author excuse but life got super complicated (re: medical things, college, etc). I have most of chapter 3 done and I intend to post it sometime in April!

In the future though I will likely not be posting all of a chapter at once, and will be posting other posts inbetween chapters. I really want to continue this fic and forcing myself to post an entire chapter at once was really un motivating.

Again sorry for the delay and chapter 3 will be out in the coming weeks! And in the meantime I would love for any rqs!

Chapter 2

♡♡♡♡♡♡♡♡♡♡♡♡♡♡♡♡♡♡♡♡♡♡

Your concern wins you over and you pull back from the kiss. As you pull away Josh lets out a small groan and reaches up to try and kiss you again. You laugh and gently place a hand on his mouth. “Josh, wait, are you doing ok?”

He groans “Y/n no offense but we are not a one night stand who just met each other, we don’t have to do the whole get to know you thing.” he mumbles from behind your hand.

You grin for a moment before your face goes back to serious. “No I mean, with all the guys being here, and I guess… just being here in general.” You remove your hand from his mouth.

His face falls and he moves to sit up, scooting back so his back rests against the headboard and pulling your body with him so you remain on his lap. “Look y/n, in all honesty it freaks me out a bit, I miss them but more than anything I’m happy they all came up here, happy you're here.” He trails a hand down your face and you lean into it. You know there’s more, but you also know these next few days aren’t the time to interrogate him about it. 

“Ok,” You whisper and move your face to press a kiss to his hand “Ok, anything you need I’m here” 

He smiles at you and hugs you close to him. 

Suddenly you hear a noise from outside the room. Josh groans “Someone definitely just broke something, fuck.” He moves you off his lap gently, stands and starts to walk to the door while you remain sitting on the bed.

“Hey,” he turns to your voice, “what if… we just stay here tonight? I mean tension in the group is still running high, there’s a good chance everyone else will stay split off or just go to sleep. We could make hot chocolate and popcorn? Watch a movie? I got a few of those horror films you like downloaded on my computer? It’ll be fun!” You know at this point you're rambling but you can see his face softening the more you talk. 

“That sounds like a wonderful idea.” He briskly walks over to you so he can plant a dramatic kiss on your forehead. When he looks at you again there’s a huge smile plastered across his face. “I’ll check on everyone else and get the food and you can stay here, pulling up that movie, and just stay looking pretty for me which shouldn’t be too hard cause you always are.” He winks and you roll your eyes. “I’ll be no more than an hour, maybe get some rest, it’ll be a long night.” He says the last part while walking out the door in a sing-songy voice. 

You smile before remembering something from earlier. “And you know Chris told me about that snow angels comment from earlier.” He leaned back in the room, his interest peaked. “That will not be happening.”

Josh lets out a laugh as he closes the door behind him.

The door closes behind him and you lay back onto the soft pillows, he’s right, a nap would be nice right about now. You close your eyes and let sleep overtake you.

Chapter 2

You shrugged off your concerns and melted into the kiss. Josh’s hand trails down your scalp till it rests at the base of your neck and his other hand moves up the grip of your hip. The next time the two of you draw away to breath Josh quickly and almost effortlessly flips the two of you so now it is your back against the bed. You let out a breathy laugh and place both of your hands on the sides of his face before kissing him again. 

His hand that was previously on your hip moves under your (technically his but whatever) shirt and you shiver at the coldness. You run your hands over his shoulders and he breaks the kiss to eagerly sit up and pull his jacket off before tossing it somewhere in the room. His hands are starting to trail towards the waistband of your pants before a noise sounds from outside the room causing the two of you to break apart and look up.

“Fuckkk” Josh whispers and rest his face in the crook of your neck “Something definitely just broke.” You groan as his warm body lifts off of yours and he starts to walk to the door. You can tell all the tension you just spent hard work (kissing) getting rid of has come back.

“Hey,” he turns to your voice “what if… we just stay here tonight? I mean tension in the group is still running high, there’s a good chance everyone else will stay split off or just go to sleep. We could make hot chocolate and popcorn? Watch a movie? I got a few of those horror films you like downloaded on my computer? It’ll be fun!” You know at this point you're rambling but you can see his face softening the more you talk. 

“That sounds like a wonderful idea.” He briskly walks over to you so he can plant a dramatic kiss on your forehead. You don’t think Josh’s room and bed had ever looked as appealing as it did right now. Well… you can think of a few times but in terms of actually resting this was definitely the best it had ever looked. Speaking of the man you hear him coming down the hall behind you. You make your way into the room and flop down on the bed face-first before letting out a groan. 

“Why can’t we just be a normal group of friends who don't feel the need to get into physical fights every day?”

You hear more than see Josh lay down on his back next to you before responding “Hell if I know.” 

Everyone had arrived at the lodge safely and relatively on time. Things had been going fine, great ever you had all been talking just like it was old times. Until Matt decided it was the perfect time to question Mike and Emily about what he had seen through the telescope. The entire room erupted into chaos, everyone quickly chose sides while you tried to stay neutral. Eventually, the situation diffused and everyone agreed to go their separate ways for a bit. Which led to you and Josh deciding to take a moment in his room.

“Soooo,” your boyfriend starts to say “whatcha wanna do?” His voice has a tone that tells you exactly what he wants to do. You laugh and roll over so you’re on top of him, your thighs straddling his hips. Placing one of your hands near his head you lean down so your faces are inches apart. 

“Hmmm I can think of a few ideas.” Your words and a glance at his lips is all it takes for him to surge up, grab the back of your head and connect your lips. 

You hum into the kiss, the familiarity of it soothing your stress and causing you to relax muscles you hadn’t even realized were tense. The press of his lips, his nails scratching against your scalp, and the feeling of his hand slowly rubbing your outer thigh was heavenly. Even though you could feel yourself relaxing you could feel tension running through Josh’s body, so subtly that only someone with a bond as close as you two would be able to notice it. You knew it had to do with the cabin and all the people being here and you wanted to make sure he was ok.

You know what, who cares about some dirty overalls in a closet. Josh’s nails scratch the base of your scalp in a way that makes you groan into the kiss which you know he loves. Your body holds practically no more tension however you can’t say the same about Josh. It’s such a miniscule amount you don’t think you would be able to notice it if you didn’t know all his tells so well. 

You know it has less to do with the arguing and more to do with the people in general, being back here. You should check in on him, make sure he’s ok but also kissing you seems to be relaxing the two of you a great deal so maybe it’s fine if you let it go.

Chapter 2

The two of you were still human and needed air sometime so the next time you drew apart, you posed your question. 

“Josh,” he moves to kiss you again but you place your hand that was previously on the bed on his cheek. “Wait, I wanted to ask you something.” 

“Mhm whatever you want baby just say the word.” You can tell he’s not really paying attention to you, too busy tracing your lips with his eyes. 

“I found something earlier in the closet across the hall, it was a pair of overalls? I thought it was weird cause I've never seen you wear any. Anyways I took it out and put it in our closet.”

In an instant his whole attitude changes. “What!” He exclaims as he sits up and, gently, maneuvers you off of him.

“Shit I’m sorry Josh, were they there for a reason? I just thought they fell there or something and you might be looking for them.” At this point he had stood up and faced the window, you kneeled on the bed staring at him not entirely sure what to do.

You hear him let out a breath and watch as his shoulders drop before he turns back to you. His face is back to normal, not staring at you in the loving way he was a few minutes ago but not upset anymore. “Where are the overalls now?” 

You point to your shared closet “Like I said in the closet, they should be the first thing you see when you open it.” He opens the closet and grabs the overalls but doesn’t move or say anything else. “Look Josh, I’m sorry, they were wedged in between some pipes. I thought they were your dad’s or something.”

He turns to you again and this time his face is closer to the loving expression he had before. “No y/n it’s ok you have no reason to be sorry. It’s just, you said they were between some pipes? They were definitely there for a reason, to stop the pipes from leaking or something. I mean you know this house is old and the last thing I need to happen this weekend is something breaking, you know my parents barely let us come up this time, they would never trust me again. I’m just gonna go put them back where they belong.” He laughs at the last part and starts to make his way towards the door, but you can tell he’s still worried.

You fold the overalls to place them nicely on top of the pile of blankets. Walking across the hall you open the door to Josh‘s room and walk in. You open up your and Josh‘s shared closet and drop the overalls inside.

After completing your task, you walk back down the stairs and lay the blankets out on the couches and surrounding furniture. Satisfied with your work, you flop down on a couch and sigh.

You hear steps coming from around the corner and see Chris creeping around the corner. You smirk and continue laying on the couch till he is standing closer, still haven't noticing you laying there.

"Boo" you yell jumping up from your spot.

Chris lets out a scream and points his, bottle of deodorant(???) at you. But he recognizes you before he can spray it and breathes out a sigh of relief.

"Oh y/n it's you, God don't scare me like that."

Your too busy laughing to respond. "Oh my- oh my fucking god your scream, I should have recorded that."

He huff and tried to gain back some dignity. "Yeah well you see these," he gestures to the lighter and deodorant he's holding "Homemade flame thrower baby, you know if I hadn't realized that was you, you would be toast right now. Literally"

You laugh again and stand up so your next to him. "Alright sure macho man." You pat his shoulder condescendly. "I assume your in here to open the door for everyone else, come on let's go get them."

The two of you go to let the group in and you mentally prepare yourself for the night. You really hoped you hadn’t taken the overalls out of some special place they were supposed to be in. Either way, you’ll ask Josh about it later tonight.

Chapter 1

You’re pretty sure the clanging of the pipes had gotten louder since you had taken the overalls out. Maybe that’s what they were therefore in the first place, to muffle the noise. So you’re doing your best to watch them back into the same position they were earlier.

You close the closet door behind you and pick up the pile of blankets once again. You walk down the stairs and lay the blankets out on the couches and other furniture before flopping down on the couch.

You hear steps coming from around the corner and see Chris creeping around the corner. You smirk and continue laying on the couch till he is standing closer, still haven't noticing you laying there.

The blankets are getting harder and harder to balance in your arms you realize it's not worth it to check out the noise. You kick the door close and make your way down the stairs.

As soon as you finish setting the blankets on the couch and other furniture you hear steps from somewhere inside the house. You lay down on the couch and wait.

You hear steps coming from around the corner and see Chris creeping around the corner. You smirk and continue laying on the couch till he is standing closer, still haven't noticing you laying there.
