Warrior cats AU where the whole "starclan cats fade when they're forgotten by the living" thing also goes the other way -- whenever a cat double-dies, all memories of them are wiped from the memories of those in the clans. Of course, the collective amnesia about certain cats while still remembering events they were involved in is... complicated.

Squirrelstar still wakes up in the night panting from dreams of flames, but whenever she tries to think back to that night certain details are hazy. She can't put her paw on what was stopping her from crossing that branch, or why the only way out was to spill all her secrets to... who? What? The figure in front of her is a blur.

Ivypool knows she had another daughter. She knows this. She knows that daughter was... brave, and did something amazing, stopped someone awful, disappeared because of it. Why can't she remember her name? Why can't she remember her face? She's happy to have the those who trained her in the dark forest blocked out, but her daughter?

Brambleclaw knows his father was evil, and though he doesn't remember his face, he remembers the shame he felt as a kit well enough to make some… educated guesses. Sometimes he remembers the feel of the fox trap stake in his mouth, sinking it into… someone's flesh… he hopes it was someone who deserved it.

Those born after the great battle are raised with gaps in their parents and mentors' memories. The interruptions in the elders' stories when someone twice-gone must have been involved, the foggy paw-waving away of names, especially when it comes to the darkest parts of the clans' history.

If Spottedleaf's spirit had lasted a day longer and outlived Firestar's ninth life, he would have carried her memories with him into starclan. As it stands, he doesn't really know much of his own about this apparent "old flame" that Bluestar tells him he once had, but most everyone agrees that that's for the best. Especially sandstorm.

I think about the RiverClan and ThunderClan family trees a lot so I get it. Lol

I should look into the other clans' family trees more. (The Erins need to look into them period…)

Personally I think that Willowclaw and Dewspots should've been Breezepelt's littermates.

Also one of them, maybe Willowclaw, had Sunstrike with Sol?

And maybe Dewspots and Leaftail are the parents of Fernstripe?

I dunno. Give some of these cats more back stories.

I didn't even think of the family tree. Just that I'd think it'd be interesting if Breeze had two littermates going through something similar but dealing with it differently and making different choices. I honestly don't believe Breeze would talk about his troubles to his littermates or anyone. He doesn't seem like the type to me.

They don't have to necessarily be Willow or Dew, I just chose them because they appeared out of nowhere and I have a weird attachment to them. Lol

This is Willowspots. My OC. She's a permanent queen of WindClan. She was named after two background characters, Dewspots and Willowclaw, that I care way too much about.
