OUR LADY OF DESIRE - One of three looping pieces I made which was conceived of with Amanda Mehl @amanda.mehl and created with a scan of her body. An earlier version appeared at our installation at the amazing PWA Gallery @pwa_nyc show in November 2023. 

I’m releasing these in parallel with Amanda’s solo show at Picture Theory Gallery, Chelsea, NYC which is up through May 3rd, 2025.

important issue alert: are playgrounds a bad use of space? dead people have nowhere to go while not as many people are playing?? playground land would be better used as graveyards and the graves can be things that children (and young at heart adults like myself and others like you if you are my friend which you are if you are reading this ... sorry where's my birthday present?) should play on together (or alone if you need me-time) such as a concrete slab. YES! i know what you're thinking, what about the people who are both dying and playing simultaneously???????????????????????????? i've already thought of that, silly! i, for one, will fashion my gravestone into the shape of a slide which will slide down onto my decaying corpse which will also (additionally) be in a subterranean sandbox of grey ash. the end of the slide will have several rotating blades on it for easy departure. don't worry! my corpse will be friendly and animated for the whole family, including ancient ancestors that were hereto unknown to historical trees. they will all be there (additionally), dancing festively as skeletons and ash clouds and will reassemble you into hilariously wrong configurations. you are now that child in the playground impaled on the cheerful plastic obelisk. thank you for your patronage. #abcdefghijklmnopqrstuvwxyz https://www.instagram.com/p/CIWl10Pl0_e/?igshid=1qk098itl30o7
