It would be easy to say Andromeda always knew that deep down inside she was a woman. It’d be easy to say she’d always been different, but it wasn’t that simple. For the first ten years of her life she felt trapped inside her own skin, but she played along to the tune of most everyone else drum. She never dared let her parents, or anyone else know she wasn’t normal, mostly out of fear of what could happen to her when she did. She wasn’t always Andromeda, she used to be Benjamin.

The Kaplan’s had triplets, and while it was a blessing their youngest, bouncing darling baby boy, but inside they knew something wasn’t right because one day they’re darling stopped smiling, and that was the day became worried. For a few years the Kaplan’s attended group therapy sessions thinking there was something wrong within the family that they could deal with. Something that they could easily fix, but it wasn’t. It took years, of self discovery, convincing, and love for Andi to come to the conclusion she was born in the wrong body and she could never thank her doctor, and parents for helping her do just that.

While her parents and family were really supportive school was hard, that and the fact a lot of the people knew Ben, and some people liked Ben.. They couldn’t deal with the fact that he was no longer that anymore. She tried to stick it out, for six months she stuck it out wonderfully resilient to everything they threw at her until one day she snapped. She cried for hours and hours on end with no stopping. She was emotionally drained and physically exhausted so her parents decided the best shot they could give her was pack up her bags and send her to her dream school once she passed the simple GED test.

She was lucky she had her parents love and support, and honestly she mostly was glad her father was a surgeon. When their daughter moved one state up Dr. Kaplan did his very best to find the best doctor in the state to do her top surgery for Andi, and that he did. Another thing about moving was since she had the freedom to be herself with out eyes on her she grew more confident in herself, and in finally making new friends and that’s how she met Harlow Wilde. Harlow is someone that she now couldn’t imagine her life without, and is someone she would trust her life with. A few years after they became best friends they were jokingly talking about kids, and what it would mean to them.. Then suddenly the conversation wasn’t so jokey anymore. Now, about five years later they now have a shared place a beautiful wonderful son and Andi couldn’t be happier.

Despite being the illegitimate lovechild of business mogul James Weston, Radley grew up pretty well taken care of by his mother in Detroit. He never questioned his mother about his absent father or why he didn’t have her last name, and she never offered up any information regardless. She, Lilian, was the secretary that ever rich wife feared their husbands would meet, with her long legs and wrinkle-free face. Granted, she wasn’t really interested in money or being a homewrecker. Instead, she fell in love with her boss and was convinced he loved her as well. The sudden death of Lilian’s mother ripped her away from her love and her home in New York, back to her home in Detroit. Five days later she found herself sitting in the doctor’s office, shirt up while the nurse smeared jelly on her not-yet-swollen stomach. Lilian waited until Radley was born and named to contact James, though she already knew what he would say. She received a monthly sum of $10,000 in exchange for her silence. Heartbroken, she accepted it and cared for Radley the best she could as a single mother.

Radley had always been one to feel things strongly, more so than most children his age and more so than others thought was permitted. He cried and whimpered long after the stimulant was gone, laughed too hard and too long at a joke that wasn’t even really funny, and would shrink in on himself at voices just the slightest bit too loud or too stern. It had been a prominent part of his personality for as long as he had had a personality and everyone in his life was well used to his influx of emotions. Radley, himself, was used to the ever-present cacophony of emotions, despite rarely ever being able to pinpoint what exact emotion(s) was present at any given time. So used to it, in fact, that it was a shock to realize that all of that noise in his head was suddenly gone.

Radley was nine years old when Lilian died a sudden (to Radley) death. The truth of it was that Lilian had been horribly depressed since being paid off to keep her son’s father out of his life. She wrote up her will, leaving everything she had to Radley, and detailed a specific plan for what was to happen to her son. And then Radley lost his mother, and himself. To say that James’ wife was upset by the sudden appearance of an illegitimate child was a gross understatement. She wasn’t cruel to Radley, who now went by Lee, but she also wasn’t very kind or affectionate. Lee knew he wasn’t wanted, but he did what he could to fulfill his mother’s dying wish, no matter how hard it was for him to deal with on some days. If he were to be honest, there weren’t many days that he felt anything at all, let alone cared enough to be upset at his less-than-perfect life. The boy who once felt too much, now felt hardly anything at all.

Nine years later found Lee just barely graduating high school and moving as quickly as he could as far away as he could. His years in track made up for his grades and landed him a scholarship to the University of Washington. He’d long since begun refusing James’ money, which lead to him living in the dorms for his first three years while he saved up money for his own place. Student employment combined with the classes he taught at the local rec center allowed him to move into his very own apartment just a few months before the fall semester of his senior year started.

We’re going to do an acceptance round at midnight PST! We’re aware that’s late, but both admins are doing various things today so we’re not here at the same time until around then.
