the ai arguments are driving me nuts again, its a moral panic, its always been a moral panic, and its obvious in the way the arguments always shift. not real art argument starts up, people get embarrassed defending the spiritual magic imbued in colors and shapes by the human soul, then its about defending artists, but opps, then it gets embarrassing to say they side with disney and adobe in bringing about harsher copyright laws, so they point to the environmental impacts, but then when its pointed out plenty of things they enjoy have similar costs in water/electricity, they'll scattered back to older arguments. its a labor issue, its an annoying feature added to your phone because investors like buzzwords, it is not a devil or demon or spirit

I think it should say something about the level of power israelis have towards Palestinian lives that a jewish man felt comfortable shooting openly at a beach because he thought he saw palestinians. I think it says something that a zionist tried to drown a 3 year old palestinian Muslim child in Texas. I think it says something that we keep hearing about the rise of antisemitism but no israeli Americans have been killed by Palestinians but a palestinian boy was stabbed to death in Chicago by a man in revenge of october 7th. But news doesn't report about the rise of anti palestinian hate crimes and if they do they'll just report it as a rise in Islamophobia

First, you have to accept that some people just won't like you. Then, you have to accept that you won't like you sometimes, and that you should think through what you may and may not like and determine whether those things should inspire any change in you. Lastly, you have to accept that emotions over something bad, does not fix the problem. Do you actually want to learn about things and do what you think would be best, or do you just wanna point your finger and scream at things?

How would white LGBT+ Americans like it if every time the US government passed yet another anti-LGBT+ legislation, every post by alleged allies read like, 'LGBT+ Americans are the most racist and transmisogynistic people on the planet, but that doesn't mean they deserve to lose their rights', like, I know I would get a million whites, both LGBT+ and not, in the notes screaming about how they are not racist and I'm being queerphobic and Not All LGBT+ Americans, amid people rightfully telling me that framing doesn't help, but this kind of shit is apparently okay to do to Muslims being massacred every day by bombs bc don't you know Muslims are all evil bigots, even if they don't deserve to be bombed??

it's impossible not to feel the same giddy joy amal (@/amal-ashour-now2) has about being a new mum again, reading those messages

but with it, amal's terrified, because her life isn't even remotely the same as the one it was during her first pregnancy. the beautiful life amal & moatasem created for their new family, turned into nothing but a waking nightmare since oct. 2023. little maryam, who's not even 3, has known a life of bullets and bombs, tents and endless hunger, longer than she's known the life of security and calm her parents provided her with for the first 9 months of her life. and at a time when amal needs to be stress-free, well rested, and to have access to proper nutrition, she's been deprived of all three. now, she's also facing the daunting task of having to start over her campaign (read more about why here).

but this is one burden she doesn't have to face alone—she has all of us. i implore you, please donate any amount you're able to give, to help amal & her family survive their current situation. any amount, no matter how small, will be a literal lifeline for the four of them
