God hacking in Cyberpunk Videogames and TTRPGs sucks ass
Dude I'm fucking dying for good hacking rules why the fuck are they exclusive to cy_borg and a single cyberpunk RED homebrew for 2077 style quick hacks?
Not kidding, never met a good hacking ruleset outside of those two. Maybe LANCER. But LANCER hacking isn't quite the same thing as those two.
Having watched GitS (95), GitS 2: Innocence (fucking stellar movie, watch it if you wanna completely understand EYE Divine Cybermancy), and some of GitS: Standalone Complex, Edgerunners, and some other cyberpunk media I forgor the names of, Hacking ain't that complex. Hacking is a gun you point at someone and pull the trigger which puts them in the Labyrinth with the Minotaur.
So why the FUCK can't videogames or a lot of TTRPGs get this right? Is it balance? Lemme just point at the computer and do a hack skill check for the love of christ and all that is holy with called shot modifiers if I wanna go for someone's cyberbrain. The two TTRPGs I mentioned view hacking as a gun that you simply point and shoot but instead of bullets it fires existential crises (Like Quickhacks in Cyberpunk 2077).
Every other TTRPG or videogame is so up its ass about how you have to jack into the matrix and roll a bunch of dice (Shadowrun TTRPG) or go on a dungeon crawl (cyberpunk 2020, Cyberpunk RED, Shadowrun Returns), or play a fucking minigame (EYE: Divine Cybermancy, the EYE TTRPG I worked on for a bit, a couple of d20 cyberpunk modules I've seen).
I'm working on my own system based on DH2e and like, it's just so easy to make a gun that puts someone in the fucking Torment Nexus™ for some CC. I'm fucking begging y'all when making a cyberpunk themed game, lemme just hurl people into the duat with the same speed of resolution I shoot people with a gun.
It's not hard and it's actually accurate genre emulation.

Does anyone have that one thread about reading comprehension in younger generations basically being reduced to like... guessing the meaning of words and by extension guessing the intended meaning of statements?
Because I have experienced that today

You know I glaze Lancer a lot but I really gotta say there are some design issues I feel certain frames have and I should talk about them sometime

More of you need to understand that conservative Christians are bullshitting when they claim to follow the plain, simple words of the Bible. Like yeah most of them believe their own bullshit. But still it's totally bullshit. Stop taking Christian propaganda at face value oh my god.

Amaury "Chocolate Guy" Guichon is undoubtedly an extremely skilled sculptor in chocolate but I think my favorite thing about a lot of his videos is the effort he puts into putting actual dessert food under the sculpture work
So many of his desserts & pastries have at least 5 layers of different textures & flavors. Fruit jams, caramel, cake, creams, mousse, cookies, meringue, crumb layers etc
That's what makes his work truly impressive to me, especially as someone who quickly got tired of the "knife that turns everything into cake" thing, where it was all basic chocolate cake buried under 13 layers of fondant
It takes amaury's work from an impressive stunt to "if I ate that, it would probably be the best thing I'd eat in my whole life"
