He hops to ground and stretches both arms above his head. “Yeah, I think I’ve got just the thing you need, bud.” He grins and offers his hand to the boy with a grin. “C’mon! Let’s go for run, yeah?”

Christopher beamed brightly as he then took his friend’s hand, “Yeah! Let’s go for a run!” He exclaimed brightly, grinning brightly.

“Chris? What’s wrong?” Knuckles had noticed that Chris seemed a little down. Well, more down than usual. Of course being a younger kid (although Chris was like what, 13?), he’d probably be taking a lot of everything happening lately (the Chaos Emeralds, Robotnik’s constant attacks, Station Square flooding cause of Chaos) really roughly. Knuckles was used to that sort of situation because of his own childhood, but it didn’t seem exactly fair to just expect Chris to adjust well to it right away, if at all.

So, Knuckles thought he’d ask. Maybe Chris needed someone to talk to?

“Just a lot happening...” Christopher looked away, seeming a bit stubborn to talk about it to Knuckles. He was more down than usual as he sat down on the ground. A deep inhale then an exhale, he mumbled out quietly. “I just want it to stop. I want everything to stop...” He felt tears threatening to spill from his eyes.

He hums contentedly, nodding as he closes his eyes again to enjoy the warm rays on his face. “It’s pretty good, been quiet all day.” Sure, Eggman or someone to cause trouble at any moment, but there was no reason to worry right then. His friends were all here, safe and happy and protected.

“You feelin’ cooped up?” He had been tossing the idea of going out back and forth, it’d be nice to go with someone. Sonic had been trying to get someone to go with him to this pretty lake he’d seen outside of town with the nicest beach he’d seen in awhile. It was quite picturesque, even with his fear dislike of water.

“Yeah, I’ve been feeling cooped up. Do you know a place where we can go and relax some more?” Christopher asked his best friend with a hint of curiosity. He’s been wanting to get out of the mansion, away from the mansion to get some real fresh air.

He’d been laying out on the railing as he usually was, just enjoying the nice weather when Chris spoke up. Cracking one eye open to look at the boy, the hedgehog hummed and held up one hand in a thumbs up.

“Oh, you know. Taking in the breeze, enjoying the sunshine.” He smiled, stretching his leg out since it’d gotten all tingly from how he’d been laying. “Somethin’ up?”

“Oh, nothing. Just bored.” Christopher answered the other’s question, then taking a seat down next to Sonic. “How is it out here?” He asked with a hint of curiosity, taking in the breeze too as well.

“You must be the Donut Lord that Sonic has been talking about. I’m Christopher but you can call me Chris, sir.” Christopher introduced himself politely, holding a hand out for the other to shake if they’d wish to.

“A’right, think it’s break time.”

Having been keeping an eye on the young boy as they trained, watching his every movement with focus. It had been almost a week since Chris had asked Knuckles to teach him how to fight or least how to defend himself if needed. Going over the basic and helping him build up from there, making sure to set a safe and proper pace for the boy.

A small proud smile graced his muzzle. It had been fun to hang out with the other, proud of how much he had learned and how quick he had picked up on certain things. 

“Ya really gettin’ the ‘ang o’ this.”

Christopher was training with Knuckles since he asked the echnida to teach him how to defend himself and fight. An exhausted sigh, a soft smile plastered across the boy's face as he gave a small nod. "Yeah, let's take a break, Knuckles." He grinned rather brightly when he's been told that he's getting the hang of this. "I am?" He asked with a hint of excitement.

"Chris!! Heya! You won't believe the day I had! I was able to go shopping and bought this super cute dress!~ Do you think Sonic will notice me if I wear it?"

“Hey, Amy!” Christopher greeted the other brightly, listening to Amy. He seemed to think for a bit, then answering softly. “I think he will, Amy.” Doesn’t Sonic already notice Amy though?
