I was in line at Aldi and this girl with two toddlers in front of me had her card declined and she looked so fucking sad and said “let me call my husband real quick” and it was only 18 dollars, so I just paid for it, and she was very sweet and then as she walked off, the lady behind me said `”You know that was probably a scam, right?” and like, even if it was, like what a sad fucking scam, right? 18 dollars at the Aldi. If you’re “scamming” me for some Tyson chicken and apple juice and cauliflower, then just take my fucking money.

Some churches offer short term residence

Find your nearest homeless shelter

Look for places that are open to the public

A large dumpster near a wall can often be moved so that flipping up the lids creates an angled shelter to stay dry

HYGIENE

A membership to the YMCA is usually only 10$, which has a shower, and sometimes laundry machines and lockers.

Public libraries have bathrooms you can use

Dollar stores carry low-end soaps and deodorant etc.

Wet wipes are all purpose and a life saver

Local beaches, go for a quick swim

Some truck stops have showers you can pay for

Staying clean is the best way to prevent disease, and potentially get a job to get back on your feet

The first vaccine prevented infection. But not enough people got it, the virus mutated, and so the vaccine could only prevent serious illness and death. Which is still a fucking miracle. It just couldn't end the pandemic all neat and tidy.

The vaccine is still saving lives to this day. The majority of people currently dying from COVID are UNVACCINATED. And the rest are almost exclusively immunocompromised.

Which means pretty much the only healthy people dying from COVID are the ones who chose not to get the vaccine.

The vaccine kept my dad alive. I got another year with him because of it.

My mom didn't have an immune system to boost, so she died one of the most horrible deaths. She was so terrified and alone. Immense pain, gasping with every breath.

I cannot imagine having to watch two parents die like that and I am grateful there was something to keep that horror from falling upon my dad.

Stop arguing about this shit.

Seeing this site not caring about stolen art anymore makes me sad 💔 I used to be so proud about Tumblr being the only platform where no one can post stolen art and get away with it but now there are way too many blogs all over my dash with thousands of notes on each post when they post nothing but stolen unauthorized uncredited artworks. Things intersex women like me deal with:

Can't use public facilities that are gendered, especially women's. Can't go into the OBGYN without feeling like a bull in a China shop the way people stare. Gave up swimming because I'm too intersex for fitting rooms. Have gotten kidney infections and had terrible meltdowns over lack of bathroom access

Can't dress how we like without the prospect of violence and women's clothes don't fit right in many places bc they're not made for our bodies. Most underwear and pants made for women don't fit my body. Most women's clothes are made with no consideration for bodies that don't curve the "right" way

Can't post online without violent threats, violent images sent to us, violent discussions about our bodies, violent ideas thrown at us. Can't be on tiktok without Ben Shapiro taking our videos to get his violent crowd to attack us (happened to me :3)

Afraid to speak in public, our voices immediately identify us as abnormal and unnatural. I am a woman who looks like a man to most people and my voice sounds like Curt from Glee. I am immediately in danger as "faggiest fag" when my voice is heard esp bc I'm perceived as a failed man.

Afraid to be in a group of just women or just men. Afraid to be around any group of humans. Afraid to make new friends because they might fetishize me. Always aware of The Look women are giving that tells me that they see me as a predator invading their space

Never treated like a woman. Never looked at like a woman. Never given a woman's consideration from the moment my puberty went masculine.
