“You don’t have to believe in witches, in magic, or in witchcraft. You don’t have to believe in tarot, in spirits or in curses. You don’t have to believe in any of it. I do not need you to believe in who I am and who those before me were. I do not need you to accept or understand any of it. A word of caution, likely on deaf ears, it is not wise to antagonize a witch.”

Some little things I've learned over a decade of witchcraft:
If you are feel called to work but are tired/drained, sit outside. Take in all the energies around you. Nature can help charge you
Every witch does a little bit of a bunch of types of magic but sticks mainly to one or two in general. You usually won't be eclectic forever. You'll find what magics work best with you.
Never be lazy or cut corners with spirits. Always be respectful and always tell them to leave when you're done
When you see a plant or ingredient with a long list of properties, there are different things at play. Season of collection, the part of the plant, the health of the plant, etc all play a role in impacting which properties it will carry.
Don't call on spirits unless you have confidence and control
Be careful with sea/water magic. Get into it gently and slowly until you have the energy figured out because it can get out of hand quickly.
Adding a little pinch of magic into your breakfast can make a major difference in your day.
Your personal emotions/feelings over something will impact a work
Planting some plants is good, not only to have a garden, but the dirt helps cleanse you too. Get all dirty and muddy. It's good for ya
Not all trees are nice
The more you listen to your intuition, the easier it will be to tell it apart from your anxieties and worries
Incense is very easy to make which is why it's usually cheap to buy. But you can find a million tutorials online on how to make your own personal incense which is great if you want a spell to take effect over a while but also want to infuse the fire energy in it.
The more you work with something the better feel you get for it. Cinnamon goes in almost everything i cook and most of my spells because me and cinnamon just get right along
Your path is yours and no one else's. It will look like yours and no one else's

Connecting With Deities
Say good morning and good night to them
Do research on them (Myths, history etc)
Make an altar/shrine
Pray and talk to them
Give offerings
Write letters and notes to them
Start a hobby associated with them (or just any hobby)
Cook or bake something
Wear colours associated with them
Have symbols their associated with
I might add more later, comment and repost more!!
If you can give offerings or do devotional acts for any reason, the Gods do understand, they know your mortal. Look after yourself.

Different ways to cleanse your space
sage - now, don't use white sage unless you are indigenous to native america, but if you do use this to cleanse your space, remember this is like bleach.. it gets rid of all the energies, negative AND positive
salt - put a bowl near the front door to stop negative energy entering your home, or put a pinch in each corner of your room
essential oils - put in a humidifier and set it with your intention and leave it to cleanse your space AND smell amazing
Incense - pick a incense that resonates with what you are trying to achieve, and light the end of it letting the flame burn for 10 seconds or so before blowing it out, making sure the end is still hot... volia!
Letting fresh air into your space - open up your windows and doors!
Plants - having living plants in your room is a great way to purify the air as well as the energy in your room.
lemon - place wedges of fresh lemon, or lemon essential oils around the space to cleanse it of negative energy
Selenite - walk around with a piece of selenite or leave it in a room to cleanse the space
just tidy up your room!

Magical Correspondences of Coffee
I recently accepted the fact that I have a lactose aversion, which saddens me because I slam milk like it's the 90's. The stabbing abdominal pain and jank ass bowel movements outweigh the weird satisfaction I get from cow milk.
On a vaguely related note, milk/cream is something that one might put in coffee, and is associated with nurturing, power and protection. Think of your coffee cup as a cauldron, and the coffee is the base liquid, the things you add to it can be charged with magical intent and that magic will follow you through your whole day.
Here's some popular coffee additives and their correspondences:
Coffee: stimulant, great for energy work and cleansing
Sugar: love, purification, attraction
Honey/Maple/Syrups: binding, attraction, love
Milk/Cream: nurturing, power, protection
Soy Milk: protection, job success
Coconut Milk: protection, cleansing
Oat Milk: grounding, prosperity, wealth
Almond Milk: prosperity, healing, wealth, wisdom
Vanilla: happiness, love, good fortune
Add some of these to your coffee, stir with intent, and watch how it effects your day. Happy casting

A norse runework starter pack!
Because runework is basically at the core of my craft, I use it all the time and I’m already more than familiar with it. Runework is super easy to incorporate into everyday life and it’s got a wide range of use so I truly recommend. It feels safe and reliable, and I don’t need to put a lot of time or focus on them. Now let’s get down to business to defeat the Huns.
Their story real quick:
So in His endless search for knowledge, Odin the Allfather hung Himself and was pierced by His own spear in order to be alone with Himself. He accepted no bread and no mead until He found the truth He’d been looking for. And He did: through the darkness of His own mind, Odin saw the runes and reached for them. It was told they were so powerful He could bring a man back from the dead using them.
The basics:
The runic alphabet, otherwise called Futhark. Because I’m a history nerd I try to use the “elder futhark” as much as possible, though there’s a new one going around that’s really popular too.
Tumblr media
The more complicated stuff:
Tumblr media Tumblr media
Vegvisir (you’ll often find it depicted inside a rune circle like the second pic, especially on jewelry and pendants): Vegvisir is first and foremost a compass, and its name translated from Icelandic quite literally means “that which shows the way”. Historians speculate that its shape might be derived from old sailing wayfinders in Scandinavia, thus its association with the compass. It’s supposed to guide one’s way through the storm, according to a line in the Huld manuscript. (x, y)
Tumblr media
Aegishjalmur (Helm of Awe): Protection, protection, protection! That’s what it’s about. All of its branches are considered to be “guarding” the center, thus making it a major protection rune. Once you get the gist of it, it’s super easy to draw and useful. If you’re a fan of dragons like me, perhaps you know Fafnir’s invicibility was drawn from this rune, as stated in the Fáfnismál: The Helm of Awe | I wore before the sons of men | In defense of my treasure; | Amongst all, I alone was strong, | I thought to myself, | For I found no power a match for my own. (x, y)
Aight quick presentation for other complex runes:
Tumblr media
Now; How do I use runes? Where do I put them?
Draw them anywhere and everywere. I wouldn’t recommend painting a ten-feet inguz on the closest police station but there’s still tons of places where runes can be useful. I draw them inside my wrists and close to pulse points, as way of “pumping” them into my system, so to speak. I write them down to focus my intent during rituals, choosing the one/s I need most atm. In a similar way, I envision them during meditation to clarify my intent. I also use them to decorate altars or devotional art. If you’re a norse pagan like me, maybe look up what runes your main deities are associated with! Quick rundown:
Odin is usually othala or ansuz
I often see Freyja associated with fehu, but that’s also the case for most of the Aesir
Tyr with teiwaz
Thor with thurisaz or uruz; etc…
What about bind runes?
By definition and according to historical speculation, bind runes are futhark runes which were merged into a single glyph (sometimes by carving them all on a single straight line, like oghams). They were super rare back in the viking age but they’ve become popular in the last few years.
People create them according to their needs. This aspect makes bind runes extremely versatile and personal because you can set really specific intents for them. They’re not exactly like sigils, though: when it comes to sigils, feeling and instinct usually guide people’s creation process. As for futhark bind runes, they’re made using existing glyphs from this specific alphabet. Here’s a bunch of bind runes that have been going around, just to give you guys a few ideas of what they can look like:

Happy Mabon
Mabon is a pagan holiday, and one of the eight Wiccan sabbats celebrated during the year. Mabon celebrates the autumnal equinox. In the northern hemisphere, this September 23rd will be the autumnal equinox. However, the southern hemisphere already celebrated Mabon on March 20, when the Northern hemisphere celebrated Ostara. It's basically a harvest festival said to give thanks to mother nature 💚🧡
This festival is now named after the the God of Welsh mythology, Mabon. He is the Child of Light and the son of the Earth Mother Goddess, Modron. In truth, there is little evidence that Mabon was celebrated in Celtic countries and the term Mabon was applied as recently as the 1970's.
