werewolves attack || self-para.
The moment Davina had read through the anonymous text she’d received, she didn’t know what to think. She had such a short amount of time to come up with a plan, so she darted to her car, keys jangled vehemently as she rushed to turn on the engine. Finally pulling out the lot, the witch sped down the road, and towards where she’d been instructed to go. The local church.
Aware of how dire the situation was, she refused to waste anytime as she applied a bit more pressure on the gas, eyes constantly checking her surroundings to make sure she was in the clear. Letting out a shaky breath as the church came into sight, she’d come to an abrupt halt and finally killed the engine, swiftly hopping out the car immediately after. Please be alive. That single thought played on repeat in her mind as she walked up the concrete steps, eventually pushing through the giant door and entering the premises. There’d been a brief, unsettling silence before she heard the familiar voice scream in terror, prompting for her to hastily cross the room to where she spotted her professor, cornered. She had no time to think things through, seeing how the pack of werewolves continued to draw closer to her professor-- swiftly, Davina extended both her hands, before she cried out, “No!” And with that motion, the werewolves were sent flying in all sorts of directions-- a few landing among the wooden seats, the rest slammed against the wall.
“D-Davina?!” With a shaky voice, the woman could barely begin to process the situation, as she rushed down the aisle to meet Davina halfway, “-- can you please explain to me what the hell is going on?” The fear was prominent in her professor’s eyes, mixed with complete and utter confusion-- there was no reasonable explanation for what she was caught in the middle of. There was nothing that Davina could say that wouldn’t freak her out any further.
“Listen, I know you have a lot of questions right now, but you need to leave, now.” The brunette insisted, knowing that she would later have to either explain all of this to her, or ask a vampire to compel her to forget-- which seemed the more reasonable route, considering the dangers of being dragged into the supernatural side of things. But she couldn’t think about what she would do then, not until she was finished dealing with the group of werewolves, who were already standing once again. Davina stood between the pack of wolves and her professor, who stood behind the young witch for a few moments longer before eventually following Davina’s instructions to leave the church.
Now that the witch stood alone before the wolves, the attention was entirely on her. Eyes imbued with a golden tint stared her down, snarling through bared teeth. She watched them with vigilance, counting exactly how many werewolves she was up against to figure out her odds in this battle. One, two, three, four... Just then, she realized something was off. I could’ve sworn there was another one, the witch thought to herself, realizing too late that one wolf had slipped past her line of sight, and managed to get behind her. Without warning, she felt her body violently hurl to the side, only to harshly collide with one of the pillars. The air had been knocked out of her, as she collapsed onto the cold, tile flooring. Get up now, the thought rang in her head, resembling a roaring siren. She couldn’t let them have an advantage over her, so the witch used the pillar as support to lift herself off the ground as quickly as she possibly could. But the moment she got up, she was struck down, as one of the werewolves wasted no time to shove her back and send her tumbling once more.
The frustration began to build; frustration at how weak she was physically. She had relied so much on magic alone, that when she was given no opportunity to utilize it, she was useless. The blood dripped down her forehead from a cut she hadn’t realized she’d gotten after being thrown around like a rag doll. However, she could certainly feel the bruises forming, her entire body ached in pain. She panted, as she lifted herself so she could sit upright, eyes swiftly scanning her surroundings to make sure they weren’t ready to attack.
Before they could advance any further towards her, the witch sent them flying backwards-- using this as a chance to get back up, and this time put an end to the prolonged fight. The brunette stood tall, gaze stone cold as she stared down the werewolves who were now on the ground before her. Balling her hands into fists at her sides, she spoke an incantation, “Ad somnum!” the words fell past her lips, and thus rendered the group of werewolves unconscious. The sounds of thuds against the floor provoked a sigh of relief to escape her, as she dropped to her knees in a moment of vulnerability. Sleep spells were no easy feat, and she had such little time to prepare this one after having received the text. But she knew if she was about to storm into a fight against an entire group of werewolves, she had to prepare a little something prior. And so, she did. And thankfully, she was capable of pulling it off.
After a few more moments of rest, the witch left the church, and headed back to her dorms. Now, all that was left was to figure out how to deal with her college professor.

It wasn’t that she intended to imitate her doppelganger all that long - it got so boring after a short while and there was only so much of it that Katherine could stand. Pretending to be dull was almost like torture for the vampire and she much preferred her own personality rather than Elena’s. Though the second she heard the witch’s voice, she stuck out her lower lip in a childlike pout. So Davina knew who she was, that wasn’t all that surprising. Of course Elena would tell people all about Katherine to warn them. That was a good thing though, it meant that they were afraid of her and that was just how she liked and wanted it. “Aw, sweetie. Don’t you realize? You’re never done playing my games. Even when you think you’re not in them, you are. That’s just how it works, ask Damon or Stefan.” she had that trademark look of mischief all over her face as she continued to approach the young girl, purposely dragging her fingertip across Davina’s arm. “I’ll gladly play one with you again right now if you want another kiss. I know you liked it.”
Seeing the shift in the doppelganger’s expression struck a nerve in Davina. It angered her how little the other cared for anything, really. How she found all of this amusing-- she wanted to wipe that look of mischief right off her face. But the young witch couldn’t let Katherine get to her, she knew it would be reckless. And she was fully aware of the vampire’s advantage over her; she was a hell of a lot stronger considering her age. Davina was powerful as well, but she wasn’t going to pick a fight with no preparation prior to the encounter. The vampire’s touch sent a shiver down her spine, a scoff fell past parted lips as she shook her head in response to her suggestion. “No. You wanna know what I want? For you to stay the hell away from the people I care about.” Verdant hues locked with those of darker contrast, gaze so intense that she had to hold back on letting any of her magical prowess slip through, “You think you can get away with hurting my friends, but you’re wrong. I won’t let you.”

And the bombs that were being dropped on her just kept coming. Elena’s mind was all over the place now, but she wanted to know what Davina wanted to say, so she continued to listen to the other girl. Whatever it was, she’d get through it with her friends because if Elena knew one thing, it was that she wasn’t alone and neither were those that she cared about. She could handle this, she knew she could. So whatever this thing was, she was ready for it to reach her ears. Except, Caroline being buried alive by Katherine was the last thing she expected, so the look of complete confusion soon filled her eyes and she had no idea if this was even real. “What?” Elena could deal with Katherine kissing Davina because she hadn’t hurt the witch or anything, but she hurt Caroline and that made it different. “How do you know it was Katherine? What happened?”
Davina noted Elena’s shocked-- it was written all over her features. Who wouldn’t be after the news she just received. A lot had happened since they’d last spoken, and there was no easy way to lay it all out there. Despite that, the witch spoke honestly with the doppelganger, knowing that she both deserved to know, and that she could be trusted. The two had become friends, after all-- and maybe Elena would be on board with Davina’s quest for revenge upon Katherine. “Stiles came to me... he was going on about how Carolina had gone missing, and how Katherine was likely the reason behind it... he was afraid something bad had happened-- so I helped him.” There’s a brief pause, as she averted her gaze, now staring down at her coffee. She could feel the anger stir within her at the mere thought of Katherine, threatening to boil over. She suppressed her rage, as she glanced back up to Elena, a glint of resolve held within verdant hues, “She can’t keep messing with the people I care about... I won’t let her, Elena." She shook her head with vehemence, determined to keep her friends safe from anything or anyone that posed a threat. Katherine had now become that threat, and Davina had decided she would eliminate her if she had to.

packxnurse:
Melissa, seeing the vampires attacking one woman and about to attack another, barely had enough time to get out her phone, ready to call someone - Scott, Chris, there were a few people she’d call - but the girl clearly didn’t need help. As the vampires fell to their knees, she took a chance of stepping out. “I’d suggest you run, she seems to be serious.” Melissa warned, stepping around them to get to the unconscious woman. “And if you leave now, I won’t call for help. Would you rather I call a werewolf or a hunter? Either way, won’t end well for you.” No longer did Melissa let her fear of the supernatural show, she was too used to it by now. Ignoring the vampires further, she looked at the witch as she checked for a pulse from the limp woman. “Don’t worry, if I do have to call one of them, they don’t have problems with witches.”

Davina regarded the woman who had stepped out briefly, before returning her attention to the vampires before them, staying alert in case they were to try and come for either of them. As the woman spoke out, she watched something change in the predator’s expression, and before she knew it-- they’d sped away. She could feel her chest deflate, a sigh of relief escaped her body as she approached the body, hovering the other and noting how she’d been checking for a pulse. Her gaze met the stranger’s, her reassuring words prompted a nod from the witch, “-- right...” she breathed out, before her attention shifted back towards the body of the woman-- skin having gone pale due to the amount of blood she’d lost. “Is she...?” Davina trailed off, unsure if she could bring herself to say the word. Death was something that she’d experienced herself-- talking about it, or even thinking about it brought back memories in waves-- sudden, and crashing down on her. In this town though, death was a norm. Constant bodies being found-- whether they’d been drained by a vampire, mauled by a werewolf, or natural causes. Mystic Falls was a cruel place to reside in. It was as if the town was the personification of death itself, and it showed no mercy to any of it’s civilians.

Hearing a small chime from the back room, the witch stepped out from the area she’d been in, glancing eagerly over to the door. “Welcome in!” Gabriella greeted the other witch, giving her a soft smile then. “Is there something I can help you with?” Walking up towards the counter near the check out, the brunette pointed at the shelving behind the glass, a small cluster of crystals neatly lined near other types of stones. “We just received these crystals this morning. They’re perfect for purification spells.” She knew Davina as a regular customer so it was fine for her to discuss such information with her. And, seeing as the shop was empty, there was no problem for her discussing magic. There was only one other witch she’d known of in town so far besides Davina and Bonnie, so Gabriella always felt comforted when someone of her own kind stopped into the Magic Box.
@witchsacrifice
The young witch had decided to stop by Gabby’s shop, hoping to stock up on some candles, herbs, anything that could be used for basic spells, really. She also just wanted to be an environment where she felt comfortable with her true nature, and that Magic Box was that place. She’d been familiar with the other witch, as Davina was a regular customer there. Upon entering, a smile tugged at her lips as she headed towards the counter, eyeing everything in the shop before her gaze finally landed on Gabby. “Slow day?” The question fell past her lips, as she noted the emptiness of the shop, “-- actually, I’ll take you up on those crystals. Maybe some sage as well?” The brunette placed her hands atop the counter, as she leaned forward slightly to examine the crystals the other had been referring to, before giving a subtle nod of approval.

Katherine wasn’t sure if Davina knew who she was, but maybe she didn’t and she could still imitate her annoying doppelganger around the witch. At some point, that would start to bore the vampire though, but for now, she figured she’d keep this game going for a little while longer. Katherine was simply going around town to see if there was anyone nearby that she could snack on because blood bags just didn’t do it for her. She’d always preferred it fresh from the vein and she refused to let anyone hold her back or even try to stop her. She was a vampire, she drank human blood, deal with it. After a short while, Katherine spotted the young girl and prepared herself to pretend to be Elena once more, which she’d done so many times before with people in this town. “Davina, hey. I haven’t seen you since the winter dance. Did our kiss blow you away that much? Do you still need to recover from it?”
@witchsacrifice
Upon hearing her name be called out by a familiar voice, Davina turned to find the doppelganger behind her. But just as quickly as the smile formed on her lips, it faded away instantaneously when she heard the other speak about the winter dance-- about the kiss they’d shared. She’d fooled her once more, for a brief second believing the other had been Elena when in fact it had been Katherine. The realization caused for her blood to boil, anger bubbling within the young, as her jaw tensed. With a stare like daggers, she could feel her hands curl into a fist at her side-- resisting the urge to send the other flying in the opposite direction. Katherine was lucky the two were in a public area where there’d been a few civilians walking around, going about their normal day. Had that not been the case, she would’ve already begun boiling the other’s blood with her mind. There was a lot the witch wanted to do to the other-- revenge was something she sought out against the infamous doppelganger, but now wasn’t the time for that. Instead, she spoke through her teeth, words laced with rage, “You can drop the act now, Katherine. I’m done playing your games...”

Honey orbs flicked between Caroline to Davina as they all stood there, Stiles still stunned by the reality of what had happened to the vampire. At Davina’s words, he nodded his head, carefully looping an arm around Caroline’s shoulders before he helped to lead her towards the exit of the cemetery. His hand gave her a reassuring squeeze to her shoulder, “You’re okay, alright? We got you. And you’re safe now.” Anger bubbled in his veins, swelled in his gut at the doppelganger who was responsible for this but Stiles willed himself a calm demeanor despite the anxiety pulsating through his body. Once they came upon the Jeep, he propped open the passenger’s door for the two women and released Caroline from his grip finally, instantly noting the emptiness that had left his arm as he released her. Looking to the witch, he shot her a grateful look, amber hues linking to Davina’s eyes. “Thank you, Davina. Without your help, it would’ve taken me days or maybe weeks or who knows how long to have found her.” And at that rate, the vampire could have easily been dead. He knew they could survive without blood for some time but after a while they began to desiccate.
@carebearxsunshine
Was her whole life simply flashing by right now? Like she wasn’t living it herself, but watching it happen? Like a movie? Because that was what it felt like. It felt completely surreal to be in the cemetery with Stiles and Davina who had literally just dug her up and now there was an open grave behind her along with a coffin. Figures. I’m a vampire now, so of course my life is all about death these days. Whenever Caroline wanted to try and speak up, her mind came up blank and she saw nothing but emptiness and it was just pitch black. Was that weird? Was she supposed to see that? It wasn’t like she could ask anyone about it - who even had this kind of experience? The vampire didn’t exactly register being guided towards Stiles’ Jeep or even taking a seat inside. This was something she’d never felt before, but as surreal as it all felt, there was one thing that she was able to say - something that had top priority in Caroline’s mind and she desperately looked between Stiles and Davina next. “Don’t tell my mom.”
@witchsacrifice
The witch stood beside the passenger door, as she watched her take a seat inside, attentive to every little detail to make sure she was alright. The door remained ajar, as she took a moment to process the whole situation at long last. Everything had happened so suddenly, but in the end, they had managed to rescue the vampire. Relief swept through her body, and all Davina could think was that she was just grateful they hadn’t found Caroline in a more grave condition-- or even worse, dead. The younger brunette had to face death herself, and she wouldn’t wish that kind of experience upon anybody. There was nothing but absolute darkness, and it terrified her to the core. A chill coursed through her body at the memory, as she snapped back to reality, verdant hues finding Stiles’ own gaze. “Of course. I’m just glad we made it in time... and that she’s safe now.” Attention had been drawn towards Caroline after a few moments, as the blonde finally broke her silence. Davina simply gave a reassuring nod in response to the other’s request. She could understand why she didn’t want to tell her mother about what she just went through, and she’d respect her decision to keep quiet about it. Seeing how shaken the blonde was stirred a mix of emotions within her. She couldn’t help the anger that slowly began to build towards the vampire responsible for this. “--- Katherine will pay...” Her stare was rigid, the words that fell past her lips were an attempt to provide the other some sort of solace-- that she would not let Katherine harm her ever again.

Elena listened to the witch’s words closely and while her revelation made the brunette’s eyes widen, she really shouldn’t be surprised anymore by anything that Katherine did. Of course she’d go around a town event and kiss the people that Elena knew, just to spite her and shake things up. It was pretty evident at this point that Davina had no idea who the other version of her was, so maybe Elena needed to explain that to avoid any further confusion. That damn Katherine. “She kissed you? And you thought that it was me? Oh, my god. I’m so sorry, Davina. Did she hurt you?” she couldn’t help but question, that same worry still very much present in her hazel hues. “She’s… Well, she’s complicated for one. But she’s also a vampire like you sensed. Her name’s Katherine and I’m her doppelganger, but I’d like to think that me and her are nothing alike from the inside, just from the outside. She’s dangerous though. And she likes to fool people by pretending that she’s me, messing with my friends and causing chaos everywhere she goes.” Elena admitted, biting down on her lip for a moment as she searched the other girl’s face. She could tell that this was making Davina feel uneasy, which was understandable.
Katherine. The mention of the mystery woman’s name sent a shiver down her spine, recollections of the night they’d found Caroline buried at the cemetery began to flash in her mind. It all began to come together, like she’d found missing pieces to a puzzle she’d been trying to work out. She’d been familiar with the name Katherine, and had only vaguely heard about the vampire from Marcel. And to think that she’d been in the same room as the one responsible for Caroline’s suffering-- it brought on a wave of emotions she wasn’t sure she could put into words. Shaking her head, the witch let out a heavy sigh, “-- no. No, she didn’t hurt me... there’s just... there’s something else you should know...” Once again, her words trailed off, followed by a brief silence as she thought of ways she could make it easier for Elena to hear about what happened to one of her closest friends. She was certain Caroline wouldn’t want anyone to speak of it, but she figured the doppelganger deserved to know. After all, it involved the woman who wore her face. “There’s no easy way to say this... and Caroline is going to hate me for telling you, but... the night of the dance, Katherine got to her. When Stiles came to me for help, I didn’t know what to think... but after performing a locator spell we found her-- she had been buried alive at the cemetery.”

Well, this wasn’t a situation you ended up in every day. Unless you lived in Mystic Falls, of course. The weirdest things happened here and yet, Harper continued to be caught off guard by said things whenever they did happen. She knew about the supernatural world and witches and it was clear to her that the brunette she was standing in front of was one. How else would she be able to take those vampires out like that? Humans didn’t have the ability to do that, so she was convinced that the young girl was a witch. Blue eyes were still wide as Davina spoke to her, looking from the vampires to the lifeless woman and then back to the witch. Honestly, she didn’t even know where to look because the blonde felt like whatever her gaze landed upon was a tragic sight. “I– What?” Harper snapped out of the trance she was in, Davina’s words barely hitting her and registering. “I’m… a bit startled, but alright. Okay, a lot startled. But still alright. Do you do this sort of thing a lot? Shouldn’t you be careful? Isn’t it dangerous?”
The witch approached the blonde with caution, taking small steps as to not wanting to further startle her, “You could say that...” she trailed off, as she bent down to the body in order to check for a pulse. Eyelids fluttered close, a heavy sigh falling past parted lips upon finding nothing. Dead. She stands up straight again, before turning to face Harper, “-- trust me, I’ve dealt with worse...” In spite of how young Davina was, she had suffered a pain unimaginable to many, and even had to walk right into her death for the sake of the harvest ritual. Death was something Davina had become all too familiar with, along with catastrophe. She often forgot that not many were accustomed to dealing with that kind of misfortune. Eyes gave the other a look over, just to make sure she truly was unharmed, “You didn’t hurt yourself, did you? That sounded like a nasty fall...”

A wave of relief washed over Elena when Davina admitted that she hadn’t been avoiding her and that there wasn’t anything the doppelganger might have done. Maybe Davina had just been busy or something, but Elena still missed having the witch around. She was glad that the young girl agreed to sit with her and smiled softly as she did so, glad that she hadn’t just made up some excuse and walked right out of the cafe. Though when Davina told her that she’d been wanting to talk to the brunette about some things, Elena’s expression transformed and she became a bit concerned. Whenever someone said that they needed to talk to you, it usually wasn’t good news. Worried eyes looked Davina over, wondering if maybe someone had hurt her physically or something. “Nothing bad though, I hope? Is everything okay?”
“Where do I even begin?” A sigh escaped parted lips, as she took a small sip from her cup. Davina figured it’d be best to address the kiss before telling the doppelganger about what took place with Caroline and Stiles. Although bringing it up was awkward for the witch, it was topic she’d rather discuss as opposed to telling the brunette that her best friend had been buried six feet under for hours on end. “Well... at the winter wonderland dance, I remember seeing you-- only it wasn’t really you. I mean, she looked just like you, but I knew it wasn’t you, Elena.” A momentary pause, as she chews down on her lower lip before proceeding, “-- I was able to tell she wasn’t you the moment she.. when she kissed me.” Davina averted her gaze, staring down at the warm cup of coffee in her hands. She could feel Elena’s gaze on her, but she couldn’t bring herself to look her in the eye after she said it. The heat rose to her cheeks, a subtle pink to compliment her fair skin. It was embarrassing how flustered talking about it made her, but now that it was out in the open, she brushed off the awkwardness she felt. After a brief pause, the witch glanced back up to meet Elena’s gaze, “I felt nothing but a cold, darkness. That’s when I realized she was a vampire.”

“Really? So it’s not me or anything?” the doppelganger questioned, worry still clear in her brown eyes as she looked at the witch. She knew that they hadn’t ever been super close or anything, but at the same time, she felt like that dream world had brought them closer together. She felt more connected to Davina somehow because of it, because she’d saved the girl’s life while they’d been asleep and it felt good to do something like that for someone. “Do you want to come sit? I mean, I’d love the company and a distraction from working. I’ve been at this for about two hours now and I’m in dire need of a break.”
“Not at all.” The witch reassures the doppelganger, a warm smile gracing her lips. She eyed the seat before her, as she began to mull over the idea for a brief moment. She couldn’t keep things from the girl forever, and she was bound to find out one way, or another. It was better that she heard it from her. She bit down on her lower lip, before finally sinking down into the seat, resting her elbows on the table in the process. With her coffee in her hands, she glanced back up to meet the brunette’s gaze, “Why not? I’ve actually been meaning to talk to you about a few things...” She admits, in spite of her reluctance to bring it up. It was better to get it over with now, than to wait it out any longer. At least, that’s what Davina figured.

“She’s all good to go. I topped off the oil, checked the breaks and also gauged the air on the tires. Routine stuff, really.” Isaac smiled at the other, arms crossed over his chest lightly. “Don’t worry, it’s on me. Consider it a New Year’s discount of some sort.” He shuffled over to the side of the garage where they kept the keys for the vehicles in the shop and he pointed to the wall of them. “Remind me which one is yours again?”
The witch was able to point out her keys instantly; the heart shaped key chain with ‘princess’ inscribed into it was hard to miss. It was a bit embarrassing for her, admittedly, but it was a gift from Marcel, along with the car he’d gotten her once she’d graduated high school. So she kept the cringey key chain, “It’s uh... it’s the one with the heart keychain,” She could feel her ears grow hot, and she wanted to nothing more than to get this exchange over with and head out the door. There’s a flicker of surprise held within viridescent hues at his words, as a bashful smile forms upon her lips, “-- a New Year’s discount? Are you sure? I can pay the costs...” Davina appreciated the friendly gesture, but she wanted to repay him for this. It was the least she could do.

Elena had been sitting at the cafe for a while now, with her laptop on the table in front of her because she was trying to get some work done while enjoying a cup of coffee at the same time. The doppelganger enjoyed the fact that it wasn’t as crowded in here today, which gave her some peace and quiet and she could actually get some stuff done if there weren’t as many people around. She sipped from the cup that she picked up from the table at times and when the waitress approached with the slice of apple pie that she’d ordered, her brown hues fell upon a familiar figure that instantly caught her attention. “Davina?” Elena called out, hopefully loud enough for the witch to hear. She couldn’t help but wonder where Davina had been lately and she was really hoping that her having disappeared from Elena’s life didn’t have anything to do with her. Or was there something she’d done to make the young girl not want to be around her? “I haven’t seen you in a while. You haven’t been avoiding me, right?”
@witchsacrifice
The witch had decided to head over to the cafe, in desperate need of some caffeine after the long night she had. Especially in light of the recent events that took place with Caroline and Stiles. She’d be lying if she said that spending that night digging in desperation hadn’t affected her whatsoever. In the end, Caroline was safe, and that was all that really mattered to Davina. Once she heard one of the barista call out her name, she crossed the room to grab the paper cup of coffee that rested on the counter. Just as she was on her way out, she heard a familiar voice call out her name Davina stopped in her tracks, as glanced around briefly, only to eventually find Elena sitting at one of the tables.
It takes her a few moments before she finally advanced towards the brunette, a bit of hesitance in her gait. A faint, sheepish smile formed upon her lips, as she comes to a halt before her, “Elena, hey...” There’s a brief pause, before a faint chuckle breaks her moment of silence, “Of course not... I’ve just been a little busy. With school and all...” There’d been some truth to her words, but not entirely. She wasn’t quite sure if she was ready to bring up certain events with the brunette. She’d been putting off talking to her about the kiss, that at the time she thought was Elena when it was actually Katherine. And now there was the whole situation with how Stiles asked the young witch for help in finding and digging up Caroline from the cemetery-- it was a lot they had to catch up on, and she wasn’t entirely sure if she was prepared to lay it all on her.
