Chapter 2 of Hardik Pandya’s Career
As of the 1st of March 2022, Hardik Pandya's career looked in complete jeopardy. Before the beginning of IPL 2022, his chances of being back in the Indian side looked slim since other younger all-rounders looked in good form and were looking to fill in the batting all-rounder spot. But Gujrat Titans threw him a lifeline by making him captain. At first, the world didn't know what they were in for and wasn't in favour of the decision to make him the team's leader seeing his recent form and injury rumours. But the Indian all-rounder proved the world wrong by leading his team to the top of the table and helped won their maiden Tata IPL title in his first stint as captain.
Hardik Pandya led from the front scoring, 487 runs in 15 innings at a strike rate of 131.27, with 4 50+ scores. He scored the most runs for the team, batting at no. 4, which isn't his usual batting position but he adjusted to it very well.
He started bowling again consistently for the first time after his back surgery in 2019. He bowled 30.3 overs and took 8 wickets at an average of 7.3 with his best figures being, 3-17.
Since then he has also made a remarkable comeback to the Indian side, being promoted to vice-captain for the South Africa series and captain for the Ireland series. He led India to a 2-0 series win against Ireland He was also a part of the England series where he was crowned Man of the Series for his outstanding performance with both bat and ball. He took 6 wickets in the 3 matches, recording his best figures of 4-24 in the 3rd ODI. He scored 100 runs in 2 innings one of which being a match-winning 71 in the series decider in the 3rd ODI.
Hardik has grabbed his second opportunity with both hands and made his presence felt on the field both with his play and his captaincy which is a great sign for Indian cricket.

Red Bull vs Ferrari
After 11 of the 22 races completed in the 2022 FIA Formula 1 World Championship, the top 4 drivers are from the leading 2 constructors of the season so far, Red Bull and Ferrari. Leading the way with 208 points is the 2021 FIA Formula 1 Champion Max Verstappen, Red Bull's lead driver, followed by rival, Charles Leclerc Ferrari's lead driver with 170 points. Sergio Perez is Red Bull's second driver coming in third with 151 points, followed by Carlos Sainz, Ferrari's second driver with 133 points.
After initial struggles, Red Bull has made a brilliant come back winning 6 races on the trot and 7 of the first 11 races. Despite 2 DNFs in the first 3 races, defending champion, Max Verstappen has won 6 races of the possible 11 and both sprint races held so far this season. He has also secured 3 fastest lap points. The Dutchman has finished on the podium 8 times and is looking in good form halfway through the season. Sergio Perez has been in top form alongside his teammate. Winning 1 race at the Monoco Grand Prix, the first win for him there after 12 years. The Mexican has finished on the podium a total of 6 times which has helped Red Bull be table toppers of the Constructors title so far this season.
Ferrari after starting strong, with 2 wins of the first 3 races of the season going to Charles Leclerc slipped; starting with bad luck followed by having multiple issues with their power unit. After multiple engine failures, the Scuderia had to resort to a new engine for Monegasque’s car for the Canadian Grand Prix which took him to the back of the grid. Despite the issues, Leclerc has won 3 races so far this season and finished on the podium a total of 5 times. The Monegasque has been on fire on Saturday's, registering 6 poles, highest by any driver this season. Teammate Carlos Sainz secured his maiden pole position and win at the British Grand Prix after having a poor start to the season. Despite finishing on the podium a total of 6 times, the 4 DNFs at Australia, Imola, Azerbaijan and Austria has hurt his season so far.
It was a statement race for Red Bull at the Emilia Romagna Grand Prix, finishing 1-2 for the first time since Malaysia 2016 at Ferrari’s home turf. But the prancing horse struck back by beating Verstappen at the Red Bull Ring which could potentially have been a 1-2 finish if it wasn't for Carlos Sainz engine failure.
It's clear that it is Red vs Blue this season and it will be fun to see what upgrades the 2 teams bring further in the season.
