This might tick some people off but that's alright because I'm not speaking for them. I'm tired of people saying #BoycottFlorida, #BoycottTexas, or whatever other state you want to avoid due to disagreements with Government Leadership.
When I hear or read people saying that, what I'm reading is a conscious willingness to abandon hundreds - if not thousands - of Minority, Women, LGBTQ, Advanced Age-owned and led businesses along with thousands of other Mom-and-Pop businesses just trying to get by. I read a conscious willingness to not use the privilege of their voice to lift voices and individuals who might need their ally-ship now the most. Instead they're promoting a point of view that can potentially cut marginalized entrepreneurs and leaders off at the knees.
In my family's alphabetical travels of the US states, we have found some amazing establishments with kind owners trying to find a nook in our nation to make a living and share their ideas. From the furniture store in Alabama, to the Hot Dog stand in Arizona, to the Micro-brewery in Arkansas, to the gym in California. Good people, doing what they can to make the world a better place.
I try my best to support local business and community leaders at the ground level who need their voices amplified the most. We should shine light on them instead of leaving them to fend for themselves.

It might only resonate with Theater People but every time I hear La Vie Boheme from Rent the Musical, it feels like the Generation X Anthem.

Gone Fishin’. The toy #fishing poles were nothing for the actual creatures living in the water and didn’t last the day. Will have to upgrade to something heavy duty next time.

Reflecting back on the Everybody Get in Here Festival! I was given a 24 hour window to produce as many shows as possible and there were many fun sets, but one of my goals was to perform with Improv Friends from all over the world. Well, it took 4 different shows scheduled throughout the day across various time zones but we did it!

In honor of Veterans Day, I completed the Chad hero workout for the first time ever. Wow…what a true test of physical and mental grit. 1000 weighted steps on to a 20-inch box and it took me just over 80 minutes to complete.
It was at Seaward CrossFit to benefit the Sarasota Benevolent Fund.
Chad Wilkinson, a Navy SEAL, died by suicide on Oct. 29, 2018, due to the effects of numerous deployments, several TBIs, blast-wave injuries, and PTSD.
Wilkinson left behind a wife, two kids, and countless other friends and family members.
Since her husband’s death, Sara Wilkinson, a long-time member of the #CrossFit community and trainer on CrossFit’s Seminar Staff, has been promoting awareness around veteran suicide and prevention through her nonprofit, The Step Up Foundation.
The Step Up Foundation raises funds to support programs dedicated to the research and treatment of combat-related injuries while honoring “our veterans and their invisible wounds.” Every year on Veterans Day, it unites people around the world with the workout CHAD1000X.
The workout consists of 1,000 step-ups with a weighted rucksack. Chad created the workout to train for the rigors of a near 23,000-foot summit in Argentina. After his death, CrossFit GM Dave Castro, along with some friends, did the workout as a way to honor Chad. Since then, CHAD1000X has become a rallying point for those struggling with mental health to join the community and focus on taking one more step.
