thinking about an alnst au where mizisua is like ivantill and hyuluka is like mizisua.
i’m particularly interested in the idea of mizi and luka having a similar dynamic of ivan and sua, with mizi being the one trying to interact with the distant luka.
i also like the idea of sua liking hyuna, maybe because i just want some more hyusua yuri :) i also feel like hyuna’s light and way of drawing people in by being a natural leader would interest sua, even in a platonic sense
ivantill would probably be like hyuluka, with ivan being the rebel and till being the star of the stage, but i haven’t really worked on their dynamic yet other than the idea that till is basically obsessed with ivan

extensive chart explaining my swap au’s relationships and how the characters feel about each other
some thoughts :
- till has a sort of one sided rivalry with sua, due to the fact that he is jealous of her because ivan shows interest in her. he does petty things, like drag ivan away or try to sing louder than sua in activities.
- mizi and till don’t have much to say to each other here. mizi makes till uncomfortable, and he doesn’t like the way she stares at him and ivan at all. mizi’s feelings about till are a little indifferent at times, but she tries to be nice to him, because ivan is her best friend.
- sua does NOT like luka. she only admires him and the rebels because she has a dream and longing to be free. it’s kind of like how someone would feel about their favorite celebrity, and that fan wanting to be as great as said celebrity.

ALIEN STAGE - SWAPPED ROLES AU
something i’d like to talk about in my au is this particular confrontation :
Tumblr media
if you’ve been following my au, you know the roles swap like this :
mizi 🔄 ivan
sua 🔄 till
hyuna 🔄 luka
something i wanna state is that this scene isn’t just rebranded with mizi and till instead, and nothing else. in fact, they aren’t even the ones in this scene. it’s still ivan and sua.
the only difference? sua is the one who is confronting ivan because she is insecure.
sua thought that ivan was like her. they looked similar, and they acted similar when it came to facial expressions and habits. so she thought he was twisted like her.
but she was wrong. ivan is kind, and he doesn’t mind other people and making friends. he is innocent, and he has a sparkle and hope in his eyes that sua lost long ago. he’s popular, and he is great at singing and other tasks from the seygein. people care about him. he has a chance to live in the awful world they reside in.
and worst of all, he has till. till, who would protect his life for him. till, who shields him from everything that seems like a threat. sua never once had that herself. she is extremely resentful of ivan for that.
to her, ivan is a cruel joke. someone that god made to mock sua. someone to tell her “he was never like you. unlike you, he’s someone strong and capable and smart enough to adapt to things.”
but sua knows something about ivan that he himself barely knows. he’s in denial that till might be lying to him. because he loves him too much for that, to believe that his god would ever dare to keep such a bad secret from him. and sua hates him even more for that. he’s so smart, yet he chooses to blindly follow his heart.
so sua approaches him, and mocks him coldly, telling him that till is using him and that he’ll just break his naive little heart when he doesn’t need him anymore. that till would never love an idiot like him. yet all sua does is project how she feels about herself onto ivan.
ivan, to her surprise, stands up for himself, and tells sua to not talk about till like that. ivan says that he knows till, and he knows how sensitive and sweet he is, and how he loved him and how ivan loved him back.
sua trembles, and then furiously runs away, in tears. it wasn’t fair. it was never fair. she was right, ivan wasn’t that easy to falter like she was. it was simple to understand.
ivan was the version of herself that wasn’t meant for failure.
so seeing ivan fall from grace, and lose badly in round 5, made her believe she was destined for the same fate. that her older sister was right, and that any dreams of freedom she had were doomed to be shattered. ( ivan isn’t dead btw, he was just saved by the rebels but sua thinks he’s dead )
now, is mizi jealous of ivan and till’s relationship? yes. absolutely. but the jealousy is more focused on the pairing, and not a singular person from the couple. it’s kind of like “why did they have what i couldn’t have with sua?” mizi doesn’t hate ivan or till, but she does get a small sick feeling in her stomach whenever she sees them together, which she pushes down.
whenever i make aus, i like to think about the characters personalities and keep them while swapping positions. i feel like swapping everything is very uncreative, and it doesn’t add as much fun to the story.

people forget that mizi was yearning for sua before singing with her and approaching her too much and it really upsets me
like mizi was the one admiring sua like crazy, not sua
makes you wonder how their relationship would be like if mizi never approached her properly

ALIEN STAGE - SWAPPED ROLES AU
IVAN ( SWAPPED WITH MIZI ) :
• Guardian Unsha was a particularly interesting Segyein, as he put a lot of thought and effort into making capable pets for his own benefit and public image. He’d groom and spoil the humans into pure obedience, and then train them to be his assistants. He was very picky, and most of the humans he got came from usually wealthy places. That was until he met a young child from the slums, who had a strange but intriguing look in his eyes. Unsha took him in, and named him Ivan. Ivan was spoiled and doted on the most, and he was also given Segyein knowledge that was usually not given to pets. Ivan was polite and kind, but he found his life a little boring, and he didn’t really enjoy how overly kind every alien was to him. Eventually, Unsha sent Ivan to Anakt Garden, confident he would win Alien Stage and bring fame to his guardian.
• At the Garden, Ivan struggled talking to other children, due to his suspicion and hesitation to them. Ivan barely knew anything about other humans. He grew up with Segyeins his whole life, so he was a little distant and a little fearful at first. That was until he witnessed another boy his age, Till, drawing floral patterns while humming a gentle tune to himself. Ivan watched Till for a few weeks, comforted and fascinated by him, before joining him, and clumsily drawing with him. Ivan tried drawing Till, but it was far from perfect. Yet Till was immediately interested. This is where their bond started before it blossomed.
• To Ivan, Till was his god, his universe, an angel sent from heaven to bless him with his presence. He felt over the moon with Till, and for once, love given to him felt more genuine and less forced. So when Till reciprocated these feelings, Ivan was probably the happiest child in Anakt Garden. Even though Till was at first hesitant, he slowly opened up, and eventually started loving Ivan as well. Ivan loved Till’s smile and laugh, and he thought that he was also naturally talented with amazing art. However, Ivan did notice a strange thing about how Till usually got nervous and vague when it came to Alien Stage. Ivan became a little suspicious, so he proposed the idea of a tie, just in case the worst would happened. He never bothered looking into Alien Stage though, as he wanted to just believe that Till was being honest. Affection level for Till : 100%.
• He had a certain interest in Sua, and thought they had a similar look in their eyes. He thought she was like him, which made him want to be friends with her, but she was always distant and passive towards him. Ivan also likes to think of the idea that him and Sua are like siblings, and even calls her ‘Noona’ to get her attention. Affection level for Sua : 70%.
• He is good friends with Mizi, and enjoys her kind and cheery personality. He does think her unwavering and blunt honesty is a little strange. Affection level for Mizi : 30%.
• His likes : Till, classical music, and the artificial flowers from Anakt.
• His dislikes : Ignorance and disrespect.
• He has a talent for being able to start a fire with a stone.
• As he grew older, Ivan became more and more popular in Anakt among his peers, as he drew more attention from the other children. Many of them asked him to play with them, talk with them, or help with their singing, but Till would quickly find a way to take Ivan far away from the other kids. Ivan never had much of an opinion on the others anyway.
• Like in the original version, Ivan is heavily favored by the Segyein. However, since Unsha treated him better, Ivan has a more positive outlook on things, which Till wants to desperately protect. Even though Ivan was easily able to figure out what Alien Stage was truly about, he didn’t, because he blindly followed his “god.” He didn’t want to believe that Till would lie to him, and he let his heart think over his head. This is one of Ivan’s worst flaws in this AU.
• In Round One, Ivan and Till sing My Clematis”, and Ivan is happy that he and Till would hopefully both find a way to pass the round and get a tie, unaware that Till would sabotage himself and die for Ivan. Till loses, from a score of “87/86.” Ivan is left petrified and grief stricken, as he stares at Till’s body on the floor.
• After Till’s death, Ivan completely changes, going into a depressed and cold state. He barely reacts to anything, and is miserable as he knows that he could have tried to save Till. It’s not until Round Five, where Hyuna, his competition, mimics and mocks his dead lover, when Ivan finally snaps, and attacks her furiously, strangling her and punching her multiple times. In the midst of the fiasco, Ivan is saved by the rebels, specifically Luka, while he is passed out from exhaustion.
• Even though he’s awkward and quiet around the rebels, he still secretly enjoys their presence, and sees Luka as a very smart and resourceful person. During “ALL-IN”, he helps the rebels with their plan, due to his knowledge on Segyein technology.
TILL ( SWAPPED WITH SUA ) :
• After being forcefully separated from his mother, Till was auctioned off for 50% to Urak, an alien looking for a perfect star in Alien Stage. He was abused and constantly restrained, due to the fact that he had a fiery and aggressive personality compared to Urak’s previous pet humans. This caused Till’s hatred towards Segyein’s, and only made his personality even more rebellious. He barely knew proper love, and the only love he did know was a fleeting memory of his long gone caretaker. Eventually, Urak sent Till to Anakt Garden, a place where he believed he would die, lowering his self esteem further.
• At the Garden, a lot of the kids avoided Till because they were intimidated by him and his aggressive behavior. He would easily get into fights, and the Segyein teachers constantly punished and scolded him. To find some sort of peace, Till confided in drawing and singing to himself, as he felt a weird softness in doing such quiet activities. Eventually, because of this, Till met Ivan and his friendliness, which was something he hadn’t experienced in a long time.
• Till, while at first was a little hesitant around Ivan, fell madly in love with Ivan, almost to a concerning point. Whenever Ivan did something super affectionate, Till would become a blushing mess, and would stutter over his words. To him, Ivan was like his savior, his world, and his muse. He constantly drew Ivan over any paper he got his hands on, no matter how important it was for something else. Because of his intense love for Ivan, he in turn became more jealous of other people, like Sua, who Ivan seemed to have an interest in. Till also carries a lot of guilt, because of the fact that he deliberately lied to Ivan about Alien Stage. His low self esteem and his sensitivity makes him feel like trash, but seeing Ivan happy is what made him lie, because he was terrified of Ivan learning the truth and his innocence shattering. He liked Ivan more than his own life. Affection level for Ivan : 100%.
• He was too awkward to actually properly talk to Mizi, although he didn’t mind being around her, because he thought that she was kind of cute, in a weird way. Affection level for Mizi : 30%.
• Till, like mentioned before, can get easily jealous of Sua, because of Ivan’s friendliness towards her. The two bicker often when they see each other, as Sua thinks that Till is annoying. Affection level for Sua : 1%.
• His likes : Ivan, songwriting, and doodling.
• His dislikes : All aliens, including Urak.
• He has a talent for making art of flowers.
• Even as he grew up, Till still had barely any relationships outside of Ivan, and even continued picking fights. However, he did mild down his aggression, as Ivan would scold him about arguing with the others, and also made him apologize to Acorn when the two fought. Till can be possessive of Ivan at times, due to how much he cares about their relationship, and the idea that Ivan could easily do much better than him.
• During Round One, Till was stressed out and tired from performing, but he kept a smile on his face for Ivan. In his last moments, he looked at the scoreboard, and then at Ivan with a warm smile, knowing that his plan had worked, and that Ivan was safe from death. When he lost, Urak was furious, since he invested so much into Till, and immediately started looking for a replacement human to fulfill what Till couldn’t.
SUA ( SWAPPED WITH TILL ) :
• As a child, Sua loved the stars. Even when she was treated like a doll by Guardian Nigeh, and when her sister told her she would die easily in Alien Stage, she still loved the stars. They seemed so free and so bright in the night sky, and they shined in a way that made her want to be one. She wanted to be free from her life, and she wanted to find peace and comfort, but she didn’t know how or where. The other pets owned by Nigeh didn’t like playing with her, since Nigeh held a higher interest in her than them, and her older sister called her a pitiful idiot that would die and become ashes floating away in the sky. Sua would just quietly sing to herself, making up melodies in her head and then using her mouth to produce the sounds. This excited Nigeh, and she quickly sent Sua to Anakt, hoping that she would fair well in the competition.
• Sua was the most elusive of all the human trainees in the Garden. She avoided talking to the others, and would surprise others with her random outburst of emotions at certain moments. Things she did ranged from counting on her fingers, to plucking the petals of the artificial flowers. She didn’t trust the others, because she thought that they would just hurt her, like all the previous bonds she had in the past. She also believed that no one would possibly love her unconditionally, because of her low self esteem. However, she did strive for some freedom from the Segyeins, and she would stare up at the stars, singing her heart out, imagining a world where she was like a shooting star, free from all of the pain in the world. Her singing and dream of living freely caught the attention of another girl, Mizi. However, unlike in the original version, Mizi never approached Sua and joined her singing.
• Sua and Mizi’s relationship is very complicated. On Sua’s side of things, Mizi and the way she acts is confusing. Sua cannot put a pin on how she feels about Mizi, not one bit. On some days, she wants to fight her because she stole something from her, and on others she wants to try to approach and talk to Mizi, but Mizi seems to make everything so hard. She doesn’t get why the other girl does half of the things she does, and she sees Mizi’s kindness as a condescending way to mock her. Despite all of this, Sua does think that Mizi is the closest thing she ever had to a friend, deep down. Out of everyone, Sua would prefer to spend time with Mizi the most, because what they have is a human type of love. It’s messy, unhealthy, and confusing, but it’s still love. Sua could throw a punch, and she would get a punch right back. Sua could destroy all the flowers in Anakt, and Mizi would do the same. Since she doesn’t understand her feelings for Mizi, she brushes it off as an intense hatred. Affection level for Mizi : 70%.
• Sua avoids Ivan and his kindness, due to the fact that she thinks he’s weird. She doesn’t trust him, and thinks that his intellect and his positivity is overly unbearable. Affection level for Ivan : 1%.
• She thinks Till is an annoying brat, especially whenever Ivan is around. She also thinks Till is a liar, but she can’t figure out who he is lying to. Affection level for Till : 1%.
• Her likes : Singing and the stars.
• Her dislikes : Unfamiliar people.
• She has a talent for being good at doing mental math.
• When she grew up, Sua became interested in the human rebels, who were fighting for freedom for humans from Segyeins. She started admiring them, and she secretly wanted to join them, but she never spoke a word of it, knowing that she would be greatly punished by her guardian for it. Around her peers, many avoided her as she avoided them, meaning that they didn’t matter to her at all.
• During Round Two, Sua sings Sweet Dream against her opponent, Durian. Sua wins, due to her visuals and vocals. In the Round, Sua thinks about her past, and her dream of freedom.
• Witnessing Round Five, and seeing how capable Hyuna is on stage, Sua gives up, believing that she was easily going to die, just like her sister said. She also did not want to go against Mizi, considering she didn’t want to die but she also didn’t want Mizi to die.
• When Round Six happens, Sua sings tiredly, thinking about the abuse the aliens put her through, and how her hopes are unattainable in her eyes. She stops singing near the end of the round, giving up, and also not wanting Mizi to die. She doesn’t expect Mizi to kiss her, and then strangle her, taking the loss for her. Sua just lets it happen, as she feels too tired to fight back. It’s only when Mizi lets go, and collapses, when Sua realizes what Mizi did for her. The Round ends with Sua staring down at Mizi’s body.
• Round Seven only happens a few hours after Round Six, yet Sua seems more determined to win than before. Sua tries her hardest, singing or her best ability, despite feeling lightheaded and weak. She does not want Mizi’s sacrifice to go to waste at all. Despite her efforts, Hyuna starts manipulating her, by getting close to her and touching her neck. While this is happening, Sua sees Ivan in the crowd of people, and realizes that he isn’t dead, like she thought. Once she sees him, she figures out that the rebels saved him, and she gets hopeful when she thinks they’re going to save her too. Sua quickly runs to Ivan, and reaches out for his hand, but it’s to no avail. Hyuna wins, and Sua is shot in the neck, not being able to achieve her dream, which bitterly proved to her that it was unattainable, even when it was so close to her.
MIZI ( SWAPPED WITH IVAN ) :
• As an alien, Guardian Shine was someone who saw too much sadness and suffered too much grief in her life. Her once kind and gentle outlook on things had long disappeared, and she was a very depressed and serious individual. One day, she encountered a small child with unique pink hair on sale at a human pet store, and took her in, because she thought that the girl a look of grief that Shine herself could relate to, and took pity on her. She named her Mizi, and due to her own grief, Shine never properly took care of Mizi, barely even looking at the child, despite her attempts to get closer to the Segyein. Because of Shine’s lack of care for Mizi, Mizi herself began to see herself as useless, and that made her quieter and sadder in return. Eventually, Shine became too annoyed of Mizi being around, and sent her to Alien Stage, hoping that even if she died, she would at least find something else to do there. Mizi and Shine’s relationship is one marked by sadness and bitterness, and it turn, Mizi thinks that Shine hates her.
• Around the other human children, Mizi was seen as a weird person, due to her lack of understanding of how to bond properly. She was never given affection, so her attempts to make friends usually ended with the peers running away. This ended up making her very lonely compared to the other kids. Her honesty and her weird tendencies would make people feel uncomfortable around her. Mizi started becoming more of an observer, and this ended up causing her see Sua sing in the starry night, which caused her interest for her to spark. She saw her strive for freedom, and was inspired very quickly.
• To Mizi, Sua was someone so beautiful and amazing, but she could never quite get her feelings across. Most of the time, Mizi would accidentally do things that would trigger Sua, such as crushing the flowers that Sua gave to her, and calling Sua an idiot. Despite this, Mizi never had any bad intentions, and tried to at least make it up to Sua whenever she would upset her. Eventually, after watching Sua fight back against some Segyein guards, Mizi decides to help her escape, and even goes as far to ask Ivan for some help. During the escape scene, Mizi leads Sua out with a smile, and the two girls laugh as they stare up at the meteors in the sky. However, Sua turns back, too afraid that going with Mizi would only hurt and betray her. Mizi smiled sadly, as she knows that she fell in love with Sua because of her passion for her dream, but Mizi sadly knows that she will never be that dream. Affection level for Sua : 100%.
• She enjoys Ivan’s company, and she even started acting more happy because of his own popularity because of his personality. She calls him a prince when he starts growing up and becomes taller. Affection level for Ivan : 60%.
• She understands well that Till thinks she’s weird, so she avoids him as well. She does think he is an excellent music producer, though. Affection level for Till : 20%.
• Her likes : Toothbrushes.
• Her dislikes : Studying and vegetables.
• She has a talent for telling scary stories.
• As she grew up, Mizi started to take a cheery attitude, trying to fit in with the others more. She still kept some of her weird habits, though, such as stealing toothbrushes, and playing with strands of hair in her teeth. The other kids started to get used to her strange patterns, and some even saw it as cute but weird at the same time. She ranked the highest at athletic activities and competitions, which impressed her teachers a lot.
• During Round Three, Mizi sings Black Sorrow against her opponent, Acorn. Mizi, of course, wins the round. Round Three is similar to the original version, with Mizi reminiscing about her relationship with Sua.
• Before Round Six, Mizi doesn’t actually have a plan on how she’ll sacrifice herself for Sua. She doesn’t think about it much until she sees Sua not singing on stage, and when she realizes that she has to take matters into her own hands. Before her last moments, Mizi kisses Sua, and then when she realizes she is dying, she smiles sadly, like she did when Sua ran back during their failed escape. She dies thinking no one truly loved her, as she stares at Sua in sorrow before she collapses.
LUKA ( SWAPPED WITH HYUNA ) :
• Ever since he was created, Luka was made for perfection. His guardian, Heperu, was extremely cruel and abusive towards him, and constantly experimented on the boy to make him the perfect human singer. Luka was born in a lab, as one of many clones. He killed his other clones on accident, as he tried freeing them from their tubes. Not long after he was created he was sent to Anakt, to win Alien Stage.
• At Anakt, Luka showed to have a regressive attitude, and he showed to be very childish. He did things like suck on his sleeves and putting his fingers in his mouth. His teachers made sure he avoided the other kids, just in case he wouldn’t get injured from playing with them. Luka was extremely quiet and elusive, and he usually just sat near a tree by himself and played with his fingers. One day, another child, Hyuna, decided to approach him and join in with his counting. She started counting his fingers, before looking up at him and smiling, which surprised Luka, but made him laugh.
• Luka and Hyuna’s relationship is the same love-hate situation you would expect from them in this setting. Luka loves Hyuna, but since he had joined the rebels and developed into a better person, he felt awkward about it, and he has mixed feelings on Hyuna because of her changing so much. He feels guilty that he couldn’t properly express his feelings to her when he was younger, and he also feels guilty that he wasn’t nicer to Hyunwoo. Sometimes, Luka stares at Hyuna on big screens, admiring her from afar. Even though he’s more mature in this AU, Luka still kissed a poster of Hyuna, keeping some of his more childish and regressive traits. Affection level for Hyuna : 70%.
• His relationship with Dewey and Isaac is one of the many ones in the rebellion that helped him mature more. He thinks that Dewey is funny, but he does scold him sometimes, and to him, Isaac kind of reminds him of Hyunwoo, making him a little fond yet awkward around him. Isaac also calls Luka “Hyung.” Affection level for Dewey and Isaac : 60%.
• When Ivan joined the rebellion, he was at first very miserable and sad. Despite Luka’s efforts to try to make Ivan look at things in a more logical sense, Ivan only screamed about how it was his fault that Till died, before falling back into uncontrollable tears, which made Luka feel a little bad for not being more sympathetic. Afterwards, Luka tried to make Ivan feel better through more positivity, and even compliments him about his intellect. Affection level for Ivan : 30%.
• His likes : Unknown.
• His dislikes : Unknown.
• He has a talent for being good at doing the splits.
• Luka’s past is a little different from the original version. He still got into a fight with Hyunwoo, but unlike before, Hyuna breaks up the fight, and pushes Hyunwoo off of Luka, causing him to fall on a rock and die. This event deeply scars Hyuna, and she immediately becomes more distant and sad than before. Luka doesn’t understand why, and continues to approach her, but all of his attempts seem to fail badly. The two drift apart in Anakt, before going to Alien Stage’s 49th season. During this season, Hyuna and Luka make it to the finals, and go up against each other. Surprisingly, Hyuna wins, to Luka’s shock, and Hyuna feels some sort of messed up glee, seeing Luka fall. Luka is able to escape through some rubble, but it still shaken up from seeing Hyuna’s smiling face at him before he ran for it. The rebels find him, and with the rebellion, Luka is able to develop and grow properly, being able to experience friendship and love. After Jacob’s death, Luka becomes the leader of the rebellion, and is a mastermind. He is able to create weapons and vehicles for the rebels, making him the main target of the Segyeins. However, he usually does not go out, due to his weaker body. He only goes out on important missions, with the usual protection of Dewey and Isaac.
• During Round Five, Luka and his team invade Alien Stage, with a goal of getting more resources and information. While this is happening, Luka sees Ivan’s breakdown, and reluctantly takes him with them, despite knowing the risks. On the stage, Luka sees Hyuna, and stares at her, while she looks back at him, her face beaten up, before looking away. The rebels quickly escape through the smoke they put as a distraction.
• In his version of ALL IN, Luka seems more focused on the plan, and he appears more serious that og Hyuna. He thinks about his past, especially Hyuna, and how she looked at him during their round in the 49th season. He and Ivan decide to sneak into Alien Stage during Round Six, but this doesn’t go as well as planned, since Luka got shot in the arm during this.
• When Round Seven is happening, Luka starts hacking into the competition, slowly shutting down the stage for the rebels to raid. Luka tries to stop Ivan from saving Sua, in fear he’ll interfere with the plan and ruin it, but Ivan still goes anyway. When the Round is over, Luka goes to the stage, and stares at Hyuna in shock while holding his injured arm, before looking at Ivan crying over Sua’s body.
• During Wiege, Luka blushes as he stares at Hyuna, but he then focuses, and turns his attention to the plan. He doesn’t expect Hyuna to run to him, ready to attack him, before running back, and turning her out of the way, before taking the bullet for her. He then has a speech similar to the one in the original Wiege, except he also apologized for everything, before dying in Hyuna’s arms.
HYUNA ( SWAPPED WITH LUKA ) :
• Hyuna and Hyunwoo’s guardian, Phan, hardly cared about either of them, since they were a famous scientist with better things to do than take care of two human pets. Despite this, Hyuna was still happy with her brother, since in the cruel place that they grew up in, they at least had each other. Hyuna always wanted to protect her little brother from the Segyeins, and she hoped for a better future, where the two of them could live together freely. After one incident where Hyunwoo accidentally knocked down one of Phan’s glass tubes, the two siblings were sent to Anakt, since Phan was just annoyed by the two staying around.
• In the Garden, Hyuna and Hyunwoo spent a lot of time playing together, and they had an alright relationship with their peers. They were just happy that they were still together. Hyuna was overly kind, which sometimes worried Hyunwoo, but he still went along with the things she did. Hyuna’s kindness eventually led to her meeting and bonding with Luka, which she didn’t know would completely change her life.
• Hyuna has a similar look on Luka compared to her original self. She loves Luka, but she still hates him as well. Her love for him can be compared to the song “IFHY”, where she wants to hurt him just to be the one to save them, or at least make sure that they can die together. Hyuna also secretly resents Luka for what happened to Hyunwoo, due to the fact that she doesn’t want to acknowledge the idea that she had some blame for Hyunwoo’s death as well. Hyuna is a miserably insecure person, and she doesn’t want to be alone in that, so she wants to share her struggles with Luka, to prove their bond is strong. Affection level for Luka : Unknown.
• Hyuna is an alcoholic, and she constantly drinks to keep her mind off of Hyunwoo in her free time. She feels extremely guilty for hurting her little brother, and doesn’t like to imagine how much Hyunwoo would suffer if he survived either. She feels a little glad that he died, considering that he wouldn’t be able to see the mess she became. Affection level for Hyunwoo : 80%.
• Her likes : Cigarettes and alcohol.
• Her dislikes : Unknown.
• She has a talent of vocal mimicry.
• After Hyunwoo’s death, Hyuna became severely depressed, and refused to acknowledge his death of Luka, since they were just cruel reminders of her suffering. She was not looking forward to Alien Stage, and didn’t think she would win at all. However, when she did, Hyuna couldn’t believe it. She started putting on a sparkly and energetic persona, which only made her more popular. She was also really smart, which helped out Phan, to the aliens surprise. Hyuna started to cope like this, even if it was fake and unhealthy. Eventually, Phan got curious, and chopped off Hyuna’s leg, to see what she would do. This only traumatized Hyuna further. She just gave up, and became the Segyein’s forced celebrity, being used and exploited for their entertainment.
• Round Five was kind of like a forced wedding, since Ivan and Hyuna were both the most popular contestants around this time. Both Ivan and Hyuna didn’t want to do it, but Hyuna still didn’t want to really die, so she decided to do use her mimicking tactic to win. She didn’t expect Ivan to attack her, but she found his breakdown a little amusing.

jungbae things i like:
when he votes O and immediately feels so guilty and awful about it + scared of gihun being mad at him, so he goes and puts himself in the naughty corner and daeho has to drag him back over lol
the one scene where he's crying and apologising to his wife in his sleep (WHY DON'T PPL TALK ABT THIS MORE. WHY DON'T I TALK ABT THIS MORE MYSELF, FOR THAT MATTER)
how he immediately cups gihun's face and grabs his hands to make sure he's real when they first meet again
the scene where he gives his bread to junhee and is like "take it..... i don't deserve to eat :(" but then when daeho is like "well in that case can i have your milk too" jungbae just fucking glares at him
in general the way that him and daeho are a comedic duo. ppl often characterise them as having a father son type dynamic but that's wrong imo. they're more like a younger coworker and an older coworker comedy duo from a sitcom who are constantly slacking off and getting into shenanigans together. they would get matching tattoos and shit i think. brothers 4 lyfe
how he was 100% the more normal, calm, serious and emotionally well-adjusted friend in the gihun + jungbae duo pre squid game (i feel like jungbae often gets characterised as the silly sunshine one and gihun as the serious one bc of their dynamic in s2, but i think that jungbae was 100% a kind of rock/steadier calming influence for gihun pre squid game, from what we see in ep1)
please add your own thoughts
please just talk to me abt jungbae

There's a lot more connections to be made between different characters, but this is what I got before I got tired.
