Qatar Museums wins at the User Experience Awards
Tumblr media
Qatar Museums’ website has won a Silver Award for Best Cultural Experience at the fourth annual User Experience Awards.
The User Experience Awards inspire technologists to create elegant, human-centered products that solve real customer problems. They showcase next-generation digital work by honouring and celebrating with the most talented UX innovators and highlighting exceptional UX best practices.
The website and online presence is a collaboration between Qatar Museums, digital design studio Cogapp and Wolff Olins. The three teams worked closely together to develop and deliver an online communications platform to communicate and exemplify Qatar Museums’ new brand. The result is a responsive, bi-lingual Arabic-English, media-rich website that is fully integrated with the rest of the Qatar Museums online and social media presence.
The User Experience Awards 2014 finalists celebrated at this year's UXies event held at the historic Merchants Exchange in San Francisco.

Welcome to NOS
Tumblr media
NOS, a new Portuguese telco, launched last week.
At the heart of the new brand is the idea ‘Há mais em nós’; there is more to us. NOS helps people connect to their groups and do things they can’t do alone.
The new name signals this idea; NOS means ‘we’ in Portuguese. The visual identity is a wheel formed of multicoloured individual spokes, which expresses the concept of unifying people; we are stronger together. Future products will make it easy for groups to connect and share.

The Future Now
Tumblr media
The transformation from physical to digital is accelerating. The technology powering this shift is also commodifying goods, services, and relationships raising questions about the future of commerce along with the role and value of brands. In the process a few companies have intermediated nearly all communications through the creation of proprietary platforms. As they move to further consolidate their power, change is brewing.
Join us for a talk by Daniel Siders, hacker, troublemaker and one of the architects of web protocol Tent. 6 March from 6.00pm.
