Oh! A Cub and MCC one of a request? I do have an idea for you though!

During an intense match of sky battle, Cub is face to face with reader who is his partner in the Hermit server. They're both the last of their team and the last two living survivor about to face each other at mid. As what people usually calls this: A crime of Hermit Vs Hermit.

You can choose which one of the two survives the fight! It can either be Cub or the reader, or maybe they both die together? :)

Maybe in the end of the Sky Battle (or the end of the MCC in general), both of them just profusely apologize to the other for whatever happened in the game? Cub can get intense and serious during matches because he's got tunnel vision and like to aim for victory, what would happen if he have a partner who's just as competitive even against their own s/o?

My beloved 🌻 anon, I have a gift for you! This was a really good idea, and I made it a bit silly. It's about 350 words so no official title. Enjoy!

You and Cub stand face to face, swords drawn. You both had agreed that you would have a fair fight, only equipped with a sword and shield. You had beaten countless people to get to this place, but neither of you would back down from the reward of a win: 12 sweetberry muffins that you had left at home.

"Those muffins are mine, Cub," you say to him, and he just grins back competitively.

"Only if you win, love." He says in reply, and you continue to face off. Cub makes the first move, swinging at you with his sword. You raise your shield, deflecting the blow. You quickly bring the shield forwards, slamming it into his body. He stumbles back, and steadies himself right before you swing at him in a wide arc.

"Low blow!" he calls after he drops straight down to avoid your sword.

"I'm just trying to win, beloved!" you say back and stab downwards with your sword. Cub raises his shield just in time, the blade burying itself inside the wooden planks. He throws his shield to the side, disarming you and leaving you with only your shield. You both stand again, circling once again as you look for an opening. Finding one, you throw yourself down to the left, placing a hand down to gain mobility. As expected, Cub tries to swipe down at you. You force yourself back up, using your shield as leverage to swing out a kick at his wrist. He drops the sword and clutches his wrist, and when he looks up, you have the blade at his neck.

"Looks like I win, darlin'." You drop the sword and shake his hand, the both of you laughing at your last line.

"Nice accent," he jokes, and you push his shoulder while rolling your eyes.

"At least mine is nice, your accents are trash," you tease, and Cub gasps in mock offense.

"My accents are wonderful," Cub says in a horrible British accent, making you laugh.

"Whatever, let's just go get our muffins," You say and kiss his cheek. He wraps an arm around you, and the two of you go to claim your prize.

a Cub x Reader where Cub gets absolutely destroyed in one of the PVP type games by them, that being a first "meeting"

the whole time he's spectating, he's just observing them with the biggest heart eyes and admiration ever and asks his other teammates who this person is, which results in at least one of them telling him while the other 2 tease him about having a crush

at the end of the tournament, Cub finally gets the courage to go and properly introduce himself to the Reader and it results in them agreeing to team up in the next tournament!

also golden star if you make it so the rest of Cub's teammates try to like wingman him LMAO

Summary ▪︎ After Cub's team gets severely beat in Battle Box, he is determined to make a new friend.

Note ▪︎ Thank you so much for the request! I loved writing this, and I feel like it cane together nicely. This does include some mentions of violence (it's pvp themed), so if that makes anyone uncomfortable please don't read. I hope you enjoy the request!

As the timer ticked down, more votes were thrown in and the game was decided. You smiled happily, the game was one of your personal best, and you had no doubt that you would do well. As the scenery changed and your team dropped from their platform, you were transported to the map for Battle Box. You quickly finish your first 8 rounds, your team dominating the entire time, and you get two aces before the last round.

When the rounds begins, you drop down into the map silently. You immediately begin to follow the sidelines, rushing the first opposing player you see, and killing them with an arrow to the back if the neck. They fall, body dissapearing and being put in spectator. You continue on your rampage, throwing your axe at a player who was attacking your teammates from behind. The axe hits them on a shoulder, and they stumble back while losing health. You're quick to grab your axe from their arm, and slam the handle into their head. They fall and also dissapear, incapacitated by the blow.

You make your way to the middle, where you're met with two players fighting your single teammate. You pull put your bow and nock an arrow, pulling back and releasing in tandem. The arrow hits one of them in their shoulder, making them stumble back far enough to fall off the platform. You turn your sights to the last opponent, who had already turned to face you. There's a slight pause before you slowly raise your hands in mock surrender. As the player steps forward, you quickly pull out another arrow and shoot. The arrow finds it's target easily, and they dissapear with little fanfare. You're transported back to your team, and you celebrate your victory. You swept the board in that game, with 9 straight wins and an ace in the last 3 rounds.

Cub, the first to fall to your hand during the last round, watches you demolish his teammates with starry eyes. He watches closely as you throw an axe at False, hitting her on her shoulder. False mutters a curse under her breath, but before she can turn and fight back you're behind her. You pull out the axe and knock her out, and False appears beside him.

"Who are they?" Cub asks while shaking False's shoulders. False steadies herself, before pushing Cub over to get his hands off her shoulders.

"That's Y/N, they're a really good pvp player. They used to be on SMPEarth before they closed it," False tells him, and he hangs onto every word. After she's done speaking, he turns to spectate just in time to see you take down Ren with an arrow to the leg and a bad fall. That leaves you and Iskall on the platform, and he watches with bated breath. When you raise your hands, Cub lets out a noise of confusion. You were clearly at the advantage, why surrender? As he's thinking, you pull an arrow from under your chest plate and nock it quickly. Before Iskall can react, the game is over. Cub celebrates for you, still enamoured by your efficiency in the game.

"You should go talk to them," Ren tells him, and Impulse quickly adds in his opinion.

"Yeah, you might as well since you've gotten a crush," he teases, and Cub is swift to deny it.

"I don't have a crush, I just think they're cool," he explains, and Impulse ignores his words.

"Well, you should still talk to them, even if you're denying you're in love with them," he says, and Cub just sighs.

"Fine, I'll talk to them after the next game." Impulse is satisfied with the answer, and leaves him alone about it.

During the halfway mark in the games, Cub works up the courage to go talk to you. He finds you in the hall of fame, sitting against a wall reading a book. When he walks closer to you, you look up at him.

"Hi, I'm Cub," he says nervously. You smile kindly, and introduce yourself. You hold out a hand to shake, and he takes it hesitantly.

"I was playing against you during battle box, you were really cool!" You blush at the compliment an wave it away.

"I wasn't that cool, I was just playing like normal," you say, setting your book down next to you. Cub sits down infront of you, and the two of you keep talking. He asks about SMPEarth, and you tell him stories of the factions created on the closed server. In return, he tells you stories about Hermitcraft, and about his projects on the server. By the time the halfway period is up, you and Cub became great friends. You join agreed to team up next Mcc, and parted ways to get back to your respective teams. When Cub returned to his team's platform, Iskall was waiting for him.

"I saw you talking to them, how did it go?" He asks, and Cub smiles.

"It went great! We're gonna team up next Mcc, and they gave me their gamertag so I can contact them outside of Mcc," he tells Iskall, and he pats his back.

"Soon enough, you can ask them out," Iskall teases. Cub rolls his eyes, but doesn't deny it. Maybe he would like to ask you to go on a date one day, but who could blame him?
