Yeah idk. The tiktok said shit talking the upperclassman which is bad in its self but especially if it was to the reporters. Which idk how you would know that considering you don’t see the reporters at all in the press conferences and you can only hear a few words every now and then.

I also feel like geno and cd run a tight ship and if there was a problem like this it would be handled in house and we wouldn’t hear about it which is confusing me the most.

I’m not trying to start an argument or attack other anons. Just genuinely curious how you’ve come to the conclusion that they don’t criticize US players enough but are harsh on the opposition team.

Usually people don’t criticize attackers specifically strikers for missed passes because it’s not really as dangerous or consequential as defenders missing passes or losing possession. Also my recollection of the games was that the commentators were very effusive in their praise to Mexico and Colombia specifically. I just think there’s a disconnect between how you’ve perceived the commentary and the actual commentary itself.

I don’t even wanna talk about Alex but still here we go. It’s just a moot point to argue about how she wasn’t effective last year when none of the forwards in the national team were effective. Still she managed to be the top assist getter for the national team. She was also the top goalscorer/assister for her club team’s shield winning season. Despite missing games for World Cup during which her club team was underperforming btw. They had a winless streak or something like that while she was away. Her first game back was when they broke that streak. She had an assist in that game I think.

I know you’re not trying to attack anons but other ppl were, that wasn’t aimed at you.

As for your other points I once again say they are MY opinions, just like you can have your opinion I have mine. And in my opinion they do not hold our players accountable to a missed pass or lost possession. I look at it with the mindset that if they lose a game it’s not just one players fault. It’s everyone’s fault. There are 11 players in the starting eleven and then however many subs they choose to use that game. If you choose to ignore an attackers failed chances and instead focus on the defenders lost possessions then you are in a way putting the blame on that player. Yes they messed up and lost possession but the rest of the field messed up by letting it get to that point. You can’t just over look an attacker messing up just cause it wouldn’t be as dangerous even though we’ve seen time and time again amazing goals that come from an attacker losing possession.

With the Columbia game it was all in the wording to me. They brought their age up as a way of saying this is why they are messing up, this is why the USWNT is doing better. Anytime they messed up age was involved in the conversation. But we as a national team should know that age does not equal talent or experience. Any National team should know that especially with how many teams are doing rebuilds and bringing in young players.

I used Alex as an example and maybe it’s my fault for not being clear enough, but I was only talking about her National team performance not her club performance. Yes she had a good club performance like most of our attackers did last season. But there was obviously a disconnect for our attackers when they came from club. And I’m talking about the whole front line not just Alex, she was just my example.

Also I’m not sure why you’re saying they never criticized Alex when literally all the chatter about her has been incredibly negative. Unwarrantedly might I add. Although Krieger and Kelley tried pushing back on those narratives. Whereas other pundits like Darrian Jenkins, Lisa from attacking third, were pretty partial towards other players and even questioned why Alex was included as the alternate instead of someone Ashley Hatch.

You are very right about the first bit, I was confusing the two. My apologies on that part.

But as for the second bit in my opinion they did over look some messed up passes by Alex and instead brought what she did last season (at least on the paramount stream). And yes the chatter about her can be unnecessary at times. But to also pretend that Alex hasn’t been off her mark lately would be naive. She has been off lately but with the tournament we finally started to see her come back to her old ways.

I would just like to say that once again if this is my opinion if you don’t agree that’s fine but don’t try to start an unnecessary argument. And don’t attack the anon either.
