Even though Maggie steifvaters wolves of mercy falls series is criminally underrated and I will keep recommending them until I die, I don't mind that there's such a small fandom because reading those books is such an intimate and personal experience with the super specific emotions and scenarios she explores

Maggie Stiefvater: Isabel had a crush on Sam, yes. She was intrigued, I think, mostly by what he was to Grace, more than Sam himself. She really wanted someone to value her like that, which sometimes feels like wanting that person.
