A guide to commonly used honorifics in 魔道祖师/The Untamed

OK - so, I’ve actually seen some confusion floating around on specific honorifics commonly used in 魔道祖师 and I figured I will put a post up to address some of this - especially the situations when they get used. Hopefully it’ll be helpful for fic writers or whoever else out there that’s getting turned around by the various translations.

As with most of Chinese vernacular, there’s a TON of similar, but different situations in which it may be permissible to use certain titles/honorifics, so bear in mind this is not an exhaustive guide. Also, I don’t have a PhD in Chinese honorifics or anything, I’m just a Chinese person that watches/reads a fair amount of historical dramas. So if I missed anything/if there was anything that was kind of unclear in the novel or drama, feel free to let me know!

公子 / gongzi/ master

Let’s start with the hardest so I can get this out of the way. You will see this translated in a variety of different ways - master, young master, sir…and they are all correct! Congratulations, you’ve hit the jackpot - depending on the situation, gongzi can be a whole hodgepodge of things.

Master: The most commonly used version in MDZS. This is a separate meaning of master from some of the honorifics discussed below - it is specifically used to address either:

Your literal master if you are a servant in the household

A somebody from a distinguished household in a polite way

General honorific: Gongzi can also be used between strangers/acquaintances as a respectful term. Gongzi is, in some ways, an indicator of respect of the other person’s status. So oftentimes you’ll find two young masters from different sects referring to each other as gongzi politely, but you wouldn’t find two beggars on the street calling each other that. and it’s usually used to address someone younger or a similar age as you. If you‘re talking to someone who is clearly your senior, use 前辈 or 先生.

Because it has the connotation of youth and aristocracy associated with it, oftentimes innkeepers/sellers may use gongzi to address male customers  (particularly youthful men) because it’s a bit more flattering. Kind of like how the modern day shopkeeper calls you ‘美女’ (beauty) or even ‘亲爱的’（my dear - IDK when this started becoming a thing but if you do any online shopping on Taobao you know what I’m talking about) in China. They don’t actually think you’re beautiful/feel affection for you, it’s just a way of addressing the customer to make you feel good about yourself HA. It’s nice to be called gongzi even if you’re not actually a noble.

There’s variants of this - 小公子/ xiaogongzi is typically young master, although I think some translations just directly use the young master for gongzi. It can also mean the younger master if there is an older sibling in question here (e.g. Wen Chao was referred to as 温小公子 as he was the younger son), although you can also use 二公子 （second master), as many do when referring to Lan Wangji. It sounds a little less juvenile.

This term is used for guys - I would say the female equivalent could be 千金/ qianjin or 小姐 /xiaojie.

Animated basegame rideable wheelchair vehicle.

Hello. I have finished this item. Its a functional wheelchair that works as a bike. I finally get to make it animated !! You dont necesary need Discover University to work. Its basegame compatible. The item is located at vehicles if you have DU or in:

activities and skills —> Outdoor activities and cost 40

It cames in six colors: white, blue, red, violet, green and yellow.

Special thanks to Esmeralda from MTS for her motorbike inspiration and icemunmun for lend me the university bike file to convert it for basegame.

Issue:

Using the bike animation its a little strange, so i made some tweaks to make as realistic as possible. Sorry if not perfect.

👶 Invisible Crib Mod 👶

This is an updated version of PandaC’s Invisible Crib Mod, compatible with the latest patch (Snowy Escape). The old invisible crib mods were broken and would assign the same skin tone to all babies, except when held. I decided to update PandaC’s mod, because it includes a handy bear anchor to place the crib more easily.

Important ⚠️

In order to use the invisible crib mod with custom cribs, these custom cribs need to have their footprint removed. Here’s an easy tutorial on how to remove an object’s footprint. However, based on feedback I received, sometimes simply removing the footprint isn’t enough and your sims will route-fail when interacting with the baby placed in a custom crib. In this case, you need to import this footprint binary file (Google Drive) into the custom crib package. First, unzip the file. Then simply open the custom crib package in S4S, select the Warehouse tab, select Footprint, then click import to import the footprint file and save the file. Your custom crib can now be used!

Notes

This only includes an override for the base game crib (no supernatural cribs).

Swatches include a completely invisible crib, as well as 3 handy visual anchors (small teddy bear).

Compatible with default replacement baby skins & Nifty Knitting onesies.

I have completed all the exams and am ready to present the new version! The list of changes is quite impressive.

The new version of PleasantUI 2.0, a completely redesigned Windows 11-style interface. You have to try it out!

Now you can clear the cache with a separate button, before you had to select save

If you hover your cursor over the checkbox in the cleaning options, you can see images showing that the program will clean

A question and answer section has been added - the most basic questions are collected here. This section is likely to be expanded

Added settings for greater customization of your application

Forbidden list - you can select only the most important images that you don’t want to clear.

Reimagined theme creation system - already created themes are not supported in the new version

Slightly reduced program weight

If your family has a description, the program could not determine the current saved portrait. This has now been fixed and the program should detect the portrait 99.9% of the time.

Added a separate button to update the list of saves

Added missing types for cleaning

Added settings to clear the cache, some of them are not selected by default

A known problem: In version net461 an error is displayed when closing the program. This has no effect and your settings will be saved.

The Sour Legacy Challenge

Did I make a legacy challenge based on Olivia Rodrigo’s Sour? Yes, I did.

Am I going to be posting my gameplay of it on my blog? Yes I am.

The overall guidelines are pretty loose here. Obviously there’s a lot to accomplish each generation, but I tried to make it so there is plenty of room for freedom too. And if you’re not feeling an aspiration or have a career you’ve been meaning to try - go ahead and switch it up if you think it makes sense! Just try to pick something that isn’t already in the challenge.

BOMB A** Traits | PT 3

Alright, so y’all already know what time it is. I have another trait pack containing 5 traits, like usual. Scroll down to see what it do. (Btw, I gave y’all a little sneak peak of a trait I just made that’s apart of PT 4. I wonder if any of you guys will spot it lol)

♢ Weeaboo: A term normally used for people who swear up and down that Japan is the best place in the world. But for this we’re going to pretend that its for all places. This is a trait for a sim that worships any kind of culture and wishes that they were born from that heritage rather than their own.

IN GAME DESCRIPTION - These type of sims love to appreciate other cultures. If they don’t already live in San Myshuno they will wish to move to such a thriving cultural city. They love to explore all aspects of other cultures such as learning different languages, recipes and skills. 

♢ Slayer:  As Queen Bey said….

IN GAME DESCRIPTION - These type of sims are always on point, let it be night or day. You slay at everything you do, whether it be gaining skills, getting a promotions of gaining friends. You’re a sim that prays, slays and conquers the day. 

♢ Suspect: The word “suspect” is meant to suggest that someone is believed to be below par. They are hiding something or are believed to have a serious character flaw which makes them undesirable as a friend or acquaintance.

IN GAME DESCRIPTION - A sim that claims to be vegetarian but eats meat.

♢ Thottie: Just that hoe from down the block.

IN GAME DESCRIPTION - A thottie sim is basically the female version of a fuckboy. She thinks she’s hot shit but in all honesty, she’s just “that hoe from around the corner”

♢ BAE:  I’m wayy too lazy and tired to be explaining this, its 6:37 in the morning.

IN GAME DESCRIPTION - A sim with this trait is the sweetest person you could ever meet. They’re easy to get to know and become friends with. With these types of sims, you will normally form unbreakable bonds that will last the rest of your lives. Meet a sim with this trait and you’ll have a bestie/partner for life!
