Laundry Day Kitchen from simsza

6 New Add-ons for the Sims 4 Laundry Day Stuff.

This set has been put off for so long but I am happy it’s now finished and I can share it with you! The Sims 4 can always use more kitchen cabinets and counters. I was inspired when Laundry Day came out to make a companion kitchen. There also were no matching barstools for this pack so I added them in as well. Hope you all love it and happy simming!

Tutorial: fixing pants/shirts texture overlapping

friend requested this but i figured someone else might find it useful :)

so you know how sometimes you put pants and shirts together and they do this godawful thing?

that's a shirt problem. it happens when the creator uses a tucked in top as a package base but makes an untucked top mesh and doesn't change this setting. when a skirt/pants are high waisted enough so that textures of a top and a bottom overlap on a map, the game considers the shirt tucked in and puts the texture of the pants over it.

luckily, it's a super easy fix!

you'll need a Sims 4 Studio and a mean to locate your shirt file. open the file with Studio by clicking on "my projects".

after you open the file, switch to the warehouse tab and sort by type for your convenience, because you only need "CAS part" here. click on a CAS part and scroll the right part almost all the way down until you see sort layer.

sort layer is, to put it simple, a priority of a texture.

sort layer for tucked in tops is 13000. sort layer for untucked tops must be 16000. change it to 16000. do the same with each CAS part. it might be tedious if your top has a lot of swatches.

after you finish, click save.

now checking the result in the game... success!

UPD: You can also do the opposite, if you have a top in a form of a bodysuit and it goes over your pants, just change 16000 for 13000 to tuck it in.

had my first job interview on monday!

im so anxious waiting to know if i was hired, i also got my food handlers permit too for it, which is good for 2 years so if they turn me down i'll probably look for other jobs that require it, This would be my first official job aside from the little bit of work i did at one of our local pet grooming salons.

I hope I do good if they hire me, because my family could really use the money and i need to save to move out eventually

Compatible with all custom content maxis match hair or any hair that doesn't require transparencies. However, I noticed some CC creators occasionally use the hat region and other regions for their hair CC's UV map. This hair overlay will not affect textures placed in those regions

General tips on how to use this overlay

Use the gray/white hair color as the base, then use this hair overlay to get the color you want.

If you want a more saturated color, use a non-white hair color as the base, then use this hair overlay.

I highly recommend using the makeup sliders to properly adjust the colors, brightness, opacity, and hue!

tutorial for how to update default eyes to be enabled for infants

you can use this same method to enable makeup & skin details** for infants, too. 

the code i’m placing in the value box is 000030FE which was found by @fivesims (thank you, ur a GENIUS), & this code will enable something to be applied to all ages, infants included.

if you want to take eyes/makeup/a skin detail and enable it for just infants & toddlers, but keep it unavailable for all other life stages, the code you would need to use is 00003082 which was also found by fivesims!

if you want to make it so that something is available for only infants, i’m pretty sure the code you should put in is 00003080 (which i was proud of myself for being able to find myself haha)

** (i wouldn’t be surprised if it worked for other things that don’t have meshes, too—maybe eyebrows, teeth, etc, especially if they’re already able to be applied to toddlers—but i haven’t tested that for myself, so i can’t confirm or deny.)

Do you have any tips/secrets you can share for someone wanting to improve their CAS game (aka me lol)? Your Sims are so fun, and each post is such a treat! You have a great eye and sense of style and always seem to have the best CC. Idk how you do it!

Honestly, organization is everything. I've always organized my Mods folder pretty well, but recently I've started using this method to organize my CAS catalogue in-game and it's been so helpful. The difference is crazy. I have hair and clothes organized alphabetically by creator, but hats, for example, are organized alphabetically by function, so now when I want to make a fairy Sim I just click hats, scroll down to W for Wings, and save myself a ton of time that would have been spent scrolling back and forth.

I also highly recommend @yoruqueenofnightsims's Tidy CAS Category Organizers. (An update on @sparrowcc's mod.) I don't know what I'd do without it, especially for skin details and tattoos. Absolute lifesaver.

More CAS Columns is another necessary one that makes scrolling through/finding stuff in CAS crazy faster.

For bonus aesthetic stuff, custom lighting mods can make a big difference. @mosaica has some great ones. (I keep meaning to change mine but I'm just too stuck on Candy Crush.)

For finding CC, there's a bunch of great CC finds blogs that I recommend: @occult-cc-finds, @sims4-fantasy-cc-finds, @mmfinds, @public-ccfinds, @freeexclusives4thesims, @ts4-poses, @ts4presets...more that I'm sure I'm forgetting. Sometimes I'll miss a post from a creator I follow but I'll catch the reblog of it from one of those.

As far as just, like, general Sim-styling tips, I kinda like to pick a clothing piece/accessory/etc. and build a look off that. Like for these guys I think I was testing out the red top, the mask, the ruffle collar, and the purple dress; the rest of the looks were built around those centerpieces.

This was a lot of talking (whoops) and I'm not sure if it helped, but hopefully it's worth something!
