at first my heart, thick + slow seemed to be oil covered thick + as opaque as every oil spill back home. but you. but you? but you. akin to the deafening ear ringing of silence your name is what takes up the abyss in my mind. my temple of a body has been cavernous + dark for so long, but you have come and your impeccably white teeth + bright soul have foiled all my plans, reflecting your light into even the darkest caverns of my body. your light chuckle while you kiss me makes my heart burn. you are either thawing or cooking my heart, + i am unsure and untrusting of which it is at this time. you tell me this will never get old. i have never felt this before. my heart sizzles like the sun baked concrete in July.
