Okay, so firstly, what the actual fuck did Curly mean when he answered Anya's question with "safety". Like, I just don't understand how either part of her question helps with safety. With the way that the locks in the medbay and cockpit work, the only thing you can actually do with them is lock yourself in. The lock is on the inside of the door and there is no way to unlock it from the outside, so there will always be at least one person inside medbay if it's locked, which doesn't really stop anyone from going in there and hurting themselves or taking the medical instruments/ medicine to hurt someone else. So that part's not for "safety". And the sleeping cuarters not having locks isn't keeping anyone safe either. The only reason I can possibly think of that would need someone's room to NOT have a lock is if there was an emergency and they needed to be woken up. But like, you can also wake someone up by beating the shit out of their door, so you don't actually need access to the inside of their room to keep them safe. And we can clearly see how the opposite of "safety" was all that those locks brought Anya. Jimmy was able to easily get into Anya's room because of the lack of a lock, and she was able to lock herself in medbay and overdose while no one was able to stop her because of the specific way the locks worked on the ship. Like, is Curly's answer just supposed to show us how utterly idiodic he is in reference to Anya and everything that happens/ happened to her?
