Domain/Blog For Sale!! #4sale
Serious Inquiries only.
I am not a stay at home mom anymore. My business with It Works has made me a Work At Home Mom, therefore I do not see that this blog and I are a good fit. I would like to sell this domain and/or blog.
Should you decide this is something you want, and would like to continue blogging with it, I will give you all information, transfer the domain to you (It is currently hosted with GoDaddy, but that can be changed). I would even be willing to host you on my account with a fee.
I’m not even sure what price I’d like. You will get a Facebook page that comes with this, however, the twitter, pinterest and Instagram accounts are my personal accounts, so those would have to be created.
According to SitePrice.Org, this blog/domain is worth $348.
http://www.siteprice.org/website-worth/wordsofasahm.com
I would be willing to take even less than that, if someone is truly interested.

Stashbusting Week 6
I have been a member at Crochetville since shortly after I started crocheting, well, I guess it was about a year after I started, because I started on Valentine’s Day, 2010 & joined sometime in 2011. Every year over there, there is a thread created for helping you bust through your stash of yarn (mine isn’t huge, which is why I tend to end up in the negative at the end of the year haha).
I didn’t do too well last week. I only used up one skein of Spring Green on my Temperature Afghan before I had to leave on Thursday morning to head to Florida for the weekend. (Florida in the winter – or at least while I was there… isn’t special haha. Temperatures were about the same as here in Missouri & it was way too windy the 3 days for me to enjoy any beach time too )
So my score ended up only being +2 for the week. But I got back yesterday & plan to work on my temp afghan this week and get caught up so hopefully I can knock out some other projects as well!!

Stashbusting Week 5
I have been a member at Crochetville since shortly after I started crocheting, well, I guess it was about a year after I started, because I started on Valentine’s Day, 2010 & joined sometime in 2011. Every year over there, there is a thread created for helping you bust through your stash of YTDyarn (mine isn’t huge, which is why I tend to end up in the negative at the end of the year haha).
I ended Week 4 with my YTD score being -20. Once we got home, my ever so lovely cat, Sphinx, had decided to get a bunch of my half skeins of yarn and go hay wire with them, so I ended up rolling 25 skeins into balls, taking my score to +25 and earning me the SILVER MEDAL over at Crochetville for the week! That’s never happened before, that I’m aware of! My Ending score for the week ending 1/30/16 was WTD+25; YTD-3

2016 Temperature Afghan
Recording the daily temperatures for an entire year through yarn and crochet and making it into a super big afghan or super long scarf. Sounds super fun and I’m totally doing it!!!
Behold, my 2016 temperature afghan! I didn’t get to start it until January 15th because I didn’t have the extra funds and I wanted to wait until I got paid through It Works to get the yarn for it, but now that I have the yarn I have started it. I wanted to get this post up earlier than now, but I fell behind with Rc being gone for a week at the beginning of the week.
Here are my colors & temperature ranges that I’ll be doing. All temperatures are in Fahrenheit. All yarn is Red Heart Super Saver.
0-15 degrees is Charcoal 16-30 degrees is Blue Suade 31-45 degrees is Spring Green 46-60 degrees is Amethyst 61-75 degrees is Pumpkin 75-90 degrees is Lemon 90-100+ degrees is Rogue.
Of course, the colors are more vibrant in person, but I can’t seem to get good pictures online or in person of my colors Once I get it caught up, I’ll start doing weekly updates of this also I can’t wait
I’ll be traveling a lot more this year, so when I do, I will do a row of white, then my rows of colors where I am, then another row of white, then I’ll do my home colors once I get home!
So I’m pretty excited that I get to add in my first travel section the first month of the year, along with the second month of the year as well, when I go to Florida, so I hope I maybe get to break out some lemon, or at least Pumpkin! I’ve done one row of pumpkin when we got to 62 degrees in Kansas City on the 14th of January!

Stashbusting my yarn
I have been a member at Crochetville since shortly after I started crocheting, well, I guess it was about a year after I started, because I started on Valentine’s Day, 2010 & joined sometime in 2011. Every year over there, there is a thread created for helping you bust through your stash of yarn (mine isn’t huge, which is why I tend to end up in the negative at the end of the year haha).
Join me each week to find out how I’m doing with my scores for the previous week! (I can tell you already I’m in the negative for my year to date… Oops!)
Scoring will go as follows (& it’s described in the thread if you want to double check!)
For every skein of yarn you use up or get out of your stash (by donating or using), you gain a +2. For every skein you roll into a ball to reduce tangles and such, you gain a +1. For every ball of yarn you use up, you gain a +1.
For every skein of yarn you receive, buy, or inherit, you get a -2. For every ball of yarn you receive, buy or inherit, you get a -1.
Good thing is that I started the year with a clean slate
I always post my scores on Crochetville as WTD (score), YTD (score)
WTD = Week to Date YTD = Year to Date
Week 1; (Week Ending 1.2.16)
I purchased my 6 skeins of yarn for my Harry Potter afghan square 1 that I am doing, so that put me at -12. I never did use up any yarn on anything that week, so my final score remained at -12.
Week 2; (Week Ending 1.9.16)
I finished out a skein of Shocking Pink Yarn on this afghan (click the link to see the picture) so that put me at +2. I think I ended up needing the new pink skein of yarn early that Saturday (the 9th) so my score was only a +2 for the week. Bringing my YTD score to -10.
Week 3; (Ending 1.16.16)
Eek, this wasn’t such a good week for me because I ended up getting the yarn for my temperature afghan that I’ll be doing this year, and I ended up needing 6 more skeins of yarn, so my final score was -10. I did finish up a skein of light pink as the border of the afghan linked above, so that helped. Bringing my YTD score to -20. Also making me the Shoot the Moon winner, so it was my responsibility to get the scores posted by the 24th at NOON EST.
Week 4; (Ending 1.23.16)
Since we left this past Wednesday to come to Pennsylvania, I really should have gotten more crocheting done because I have been stuck in a motel, but guess what… This genius female only brought enough yarn for the temperature afghan that I’m working on… Eek. So my score this week was a big fat goose egg (meaning ZERO!) At least I wasn’t in the negative again – I’m making progress on my Temp ghan too, once I get that all caught up, I’ll get some pictures of it & post about that & keep readers updated on that if you’d like to follow along!
Come back next Sunday to see what my scores for next week are going to be.

Tooth Pain is the worst...
Embed from Getty Images
I originally started this post last week when I was in absolutely excruciating pain from a tooth. What’s awful about the fact that I have tooth pain is that I have been to the dentist so many times in the past few months to have every single tooth fixed that needed to be fixed. My dentist is amazing. After fixing so many teeth (yeah, my teeth weren’t in the best condition, quite a few had to be pulled, more even that had to be filled.)
I’m super thankful that my dentist is someone I know very well. Like, I’ve known him since I was born, because he’s my cousin. He’s very understanding, knows that it doesn’t take too much for me to be in pain. Sometimes, though, I do wish we’d have been able to move along quicker!
The tooth that I was having problems with last week was one that I had filled in November, so I’m not quite sure what caused it to start acting up this far past having it done, but none the less, it did. One call to his office and he called in an antibiotic prescription for me. 4 days into that, FINALLY, the pain was gone. I’d have asked for a pain pill to help with the pain, but I didn’t want to get anything too strong with it just being me here with the kids. Most heavy duty pain pills such as Vicoden and Hydrocodone knock me out. That wouldn’t have been all that great. So… Antibiotics it was. Friday morning the pain got so intense that I started looking online for home remedies that might help me since Tylenol nor Advil would help at all. I saw that you could mix water with peppermint oil and dab that around the tooth. I swear, within 3 minutes of dabbing peppermint oil around my tooth, the pain was GONE and it didn’t show back up and I’ve not had to take a single pain pill since then. It’s been amazing! I’m SO glad that I had peppermint oil in the house because I had just recently gotten a thing of it from an Amazon Review site to review on Amazon!! Score!
Honestly, I’d rather have an unmedicated childbirth than have tooth pain!

Rosalie's latest booboo
My kids have always been little helpers when it comes to helping me do laundry, dishes or even pick things up, while they’re toddlers. They enjoyed helping Momma. The boys like helping me still, even at 7 & 9, but really only when they want to. If I ask them to help me with a chore around the house and they don’t want to, they take their time, throw a fit, etc.
So yesterday I was talking on the phone with my Grandmother while folding clothes from the dryer. Rosalie was doing her thing and handing me the clothes, albeit, one sock at a time. Ha! All the clothes were done & I was still standing there, but I had turned around to put the clothes in the baskets for whom they belonged and the next thing I know, I hear the dryer door shut & Rosalie starts screaming.
She shut the door but didn’t move her other hand in time, so her hand got shut in the door. I looked at it and noticed some skin had been torn off, but by the time I got her to the bathroom to clean the cut up & get it bandaged up, her hand was twice the size it should have been. I thought, “Oh crap! She’s broke her hand…” So I immediately called my friend who picks the boys up at school, since she picks her son up anyways, to see if they could go to her house for a bit until Rosalie and I got done at the ER. Of course, she said yes, so I loaded Sis up in her car seat and off we went. We were in immediately, only having to wait long enough for me to get a Pepsi out of the vending machine and give both of us a drink.
Once we got back there, they took her vitals and everything… She weighs 29 pounds and is 37 inches tall. She’s a tall skinny thing, as they said at the hospital.
We get to the room, and the nurse comes in and Rosalie just starts chatting up a storm to her. She did all her screaming & crying on the way over to the ER while in the car!
The doctor came in & started calling her Sugar Bear, which she thought was super cool. She kept giggling at him. He ordered an X-Ray on her hand, and within 10 minutes they were in to do that. Rosalie sat completely still, while on my lap, held her hand perfectly still while getting it done. Thank GOD it wasn’t broken. Just badly bruised. The doctor came back in to give us those results and clean up the wound because I never got to that at home. She was fine until he put the cleanser on it because I am sure it burned, but she didn’t try to get away from him! She just turned her face into my side & cried. They put some glue on it & we were released. She wouldn’t bend it at all last night and held her hand completely flat. This morning, she woke up and was still favoring it, so I figured I’d give her a day to make sure she was able to move it and stuff, and if not, I was going to have them look at it again. She’s all better tonight, thankfully.
My week has been hell with my husband gone lol.

Crochet
I have gone back and forth as to whether I want to post my completed crochet projects on here or not, but I think I am going to start doing so. It will give me one more reason to constantly update the blog, and will give me a new category! I don’t really see a reason to do a separate blog just for crochet because I don’t design patterns. I mean, I have done a couple, but I haven’t done enough for just a crochet related blog. So anyways, check the new link in the menu to find anything crochet related!!
All of my picture will be watermarked with my crochet business name, of course, which is Cali Crochet & More. So here ya go… Here are some of my most recent completed crochet projects!
I finished this Ziggy Zag Vixen Slouch hat on December 5th and I just love it. I used Green & Black because the majority of my shirts that I wear are lime green & black, because of It Works!
Here’s a simple granny square afghan I did for my cousin who had her baby on December 18th. I used Real Teal (the darker teal), White, Jade (lighter teal) and Grey Heather. It took me just about a week to finish!
I am a HUGE Potterhead.. I’ve seen the movies more times than I even want to try to count. So when I joined the Two Hearts Crochet CAL group on facebook and saw that they were doing a Harry Potter Afghan CAL, I KNEW I wanted to do this afghan!  I have 1 project ahead of me that I am working REALLY hard on to get finished so I can start my HP afghan! If you’re a crochet Potterhead like me, you can go join in & get all the information here!!http://twoheartscrochet.com/the-harry-potter-cal/

Is watching porn cheating?
This is something that I’ve been thinking about lately. Keep in mind, never in my life have I watched porn, nor have I ever had the desire to watch porn. I have no reason to. I am in a faithful relationship with a man that I love with all my heart and soul, and he is the only man I ever want to be with, physically, emotionally, romantically.
Is watching porn, while in a relationship, cheating?
In my honest opinion, yes, using or watching porn is cheating. What reason would you have to watch unless you were wanting to masturbate? I can’t think of any other reason. If you’re in a relationship, why not wait until your significant other gets home & be with them romantically? Even if you are a man, and it’s not the right time for your female companion to be romantic, there are more ways to be romantic than just intercourse, isn’t there? There’s oral sex!
Oral sex isn’t for everyone, I get that. I, for one, used to really dislike doing it. But I’ve learned to like it, and I enjoy being intimate with my husband like that quite often. I know it’s something that he enjoys, and while he does enjoy it, he NEVER pressured me into doing it to him. I’ve always been under the assumption that cheating is breaking a vow of your marriage. When you take your vows at your wedding ceremony, you are
My wedding vows went as follows;
“I, Jessica, take you, Earl, to be my lawfully wedded husband, my constant friend, my faithful partner and my love from this day forward. In the presence of God, our family and friends, I offer you my solemn vow to be your faithful partner in sickness and in health, in good times and in bad, and in joy as well as in sorrow. I promise to love you unconditionally, to support you in your goals, to honor and respect you, to laugh with you and cry with you, and to cherish you for as long as we both shall live.”
When I took my vows and married my husband, the love of my life and my best friend, I meant them! I highlighted the “faithful partner” above, because by watching porn or using porn, you are being UNfaithful to your spouse.
Here are a couple scenarios for you to ponder.
You go find a person to have sex with. You have sex with them. That is blatantly cheating on your spouse. I don’t think anyone is going to argue with that.
You go WATCH someone have sex with someone else. You never touch them. You just watch. You masturbate while watching. Would that be cheating? I personally think it is because you sought out someone in order to be sexually aroused and masturbate. No, you don’t touch them, but you watch them in something that is supposed to be intimate, and you “get off” on it.
So, say you don’t engage with someone in person, nor do you watch them in person. But say you engage with them in video chat, online, or through a website. There are PLENTY of websites I’m sure that allow this. Not only websites, but apps for phones. You masturbate through this video chat, allowing her to see you, and you see her. You’re watching her and you masturbate. Is this cheating? I think so. Simply because you have become unfaithful to your spouse.
Okay so you don’t get to see someone doing these sexual acts live, but you watch a recording of them pleasuring themselves, or watch them with someone else. It turns you on and you get off on it. Are you still faithful to your wife/husband simply because someone hit the record button on a video camera and you watched? I don’t think so. You sought out that video and YOU hit play. You are cheating on your spouse.
There are other scenarios that I could throw out there for you, but I think you get the gist of my thinking. Porn is cheating. You are seeking out another woman or man for sexual gratification instead of the one you are in a relationship with and the one you married to.
I have always been raised that one of the only reasons to get a divorce is because of adultery.
“So they are no longer two, but one. Therefore, what God has joined together, let man not separate.” Matthew 19:6
I grew up going to the Church of Christ, and I went there from the time I was born until I moved out of my parents house. I do still go occasionally, but not nearly as much as I should.
Now, don’t get  me wrong, because this is MY personal belief and I know that not everyone believes in the bible and all that stuff, but I DO…
“You have heard that it was said, “Do not commit adultery.” But I tell you that anyone who looks at a woman lustfully has already committed adultery with her in his heart.” NIV Matthew 5:27-28
So even there is nothing romantic going on, especially if you are doing scenario 2, 3 or 4, you are still committing adultery therefore not being faithful to your spouse. I do believe that the above passage from Matthew Chapter 5 goes for both men & women.. Women can be just as guilty as being unfaithful, and do the same things as the scenario’s above.
So, what are your thoughts? Is porn cheating?

Not Single Mom Material
My husband and his nephew left around 9AM CST this morning to head to Carlisle, Pennsylvania for a tile job. Rc has had his own tile business since October of 2014 and he has been doing awesome with it. Before he started his own business, he worked for a local tile company up here & made $15 an hour. However, we struggled with bills, constantly, because we had a $600/month house payment,
and other random bills. It was rough. Especially since some weeks he would work 40 hours, other he would work a mere 20 hours or less. Anyways, he is gone for a week, and ONLY left this morning, and I already want him home. I miss him like crazy! The kids are being hoodlums. I am all jumpy just us here by myself. I have a feeling I won’t be sleeping a whole lot this week. I tend to be a pretty heavy sleeper, most of the time, unless he’s not home, then the smallest sound wakes me up!
He told me to keep the big dog, Cleo, inside while he’s gone because if she’s outside in her dog house (where she always stays at night) I won’t hear her barking should someone come in the yard. I know if a strange noise were to wake her up over night while in the house, she would be on high alert, and should someone actually come in the house, they wouldn’t get out with out being bit, in the crotch if it’s a male! She’s one protective dog, especially when it comes to the kids.
Maybe I’m just a big baby. Maybe I’m just a tad too attached to my husband.
Or maybe, just maybe, I’m not quite as odd as I think I am!
I don’t know… But you know that old Randy Travis song,  Deeper Than The Ocean?
This part of the lyrics call out to me…
My love is deeper than the holler, stronger than the river Higher than the pine trees growin’ tall upon the hill My love is purer than the snowflakes that fall in late December And honest as a robin on a springtime window sill And longer than the song of a whippoorwill

Well, that’s kinda how I feel.

Grammarly - Have YOU tried it?!
When I first heard about Grammarly, I thought, Oh, I really don’t need something that will help with my Grammar, or spelling, or punctuation, etc… I was dead wrong! It’s not that I’m absolutely horrid with my Grammar & stuff, but there were words that I could have made compound words, instead of putting a space in between them, such as “without” which I typically was writing as “with out”. I love that it comes up with a red line under it, and all you have to do is hover over it in order to figure out what’s wrong with what you did!
I’ve always wanted to be a writer, so I wanted to make sure I was doing everything right. Now, I can make sure that’s happening, because of Grammarly! So if you think you might be doing something wrong when it comes to your writing, especially blogging, I would highly suggest you check out Grammarly! You don’t even have to be a blogger, this can apply to facebook status’, emails, anything that you might want to check your spelling or grammar or punctuation on! Check out Grammarly now!
This post contains affiliate links. Should you click on one and make a purchase, I will receive a small payment as commission.

Get Products to Review on Amazon...
Have you ever wanted to start reviewing things? Well, guess what?! Now’s the perfect chance for you to do it! Reviewsio is a fairly new Amazon Review site. They only just launched on October 1st of 2015. I’ve been signed up since before they started but haven’t ever really used it, sadly. I am going to start using it more today!
Here’s how it works;
Amazon sellers are willing to give away their product at HUGE discounts to people like you and me for one simple reason. Good reviews = more sales. All they ask is that you post an honest review. I’ve found, personally, that a lot of the products that I receive from Amazon actually do earn a great review from me because the company believes in their product and when I get the opportunity to review it, I can tell that quality and care went into the product. If it doesn’t, I’m going to be the first to give them the constructive criticism that they need to make their product better. It’s that simple.
All YOU need to do is become a Reviewsio member and have an Amazon.com account.
If your request for the deal is approved, you get a voucher code that will knock down the price of that item when you checkout on Amazon. You order it, you test it, you review it, YOU KEEP IT. It’s really that simple!
Get
started today and sign up for Reviewsio!
Disclosure: By writing this blog post about Reviewsio.com, I will receive 5,000 points on my Reviewsio account and be entered into a drawing to win a $50 Amazon Gift Card. Just letting you know!

New Years Resolutions??
I am always so horrible with New Years Resolutions, and rarely ever stick with them, but this year, I WILL make my goal!!
English: Bratislava; New Year 2005; FireWorks (Photo credit: Wikipedia)
Starting January 1, I will start my next 90 day challenge with It Works!
*Do the 90 day challenge with It Works until I have made my goal of 50 pounds gone & kept off!
This will consist of
Thermofit twice a day, one pill at 10AM, one pill at 2PM. Greens twice daily, once at 9 AM & once at 1-2PM. Fatfighters with my largest meal, which is typically dinner.
You don’t want to take anything with in a 2 hour period of taking fat fighters, so that’s why I’ll try to always make sure my fat fighters are taken no sooner than 5 PM. I have anywhere from 15 minutes to 1 hour past my largest meal to get them taken for them to work, so yeah…
I will also be wrapping every 72 hours. So I will wrap the morning of January 1st, then will wrap again on the Monday of January 4th! I will ABSOLUTELY stick with this. I want at least 50 pounds off of me, and I will do it! I believe I can do it!
*This isn’t a resolution, because I have already pretty much done it, but I will be sticking with it.. I rarely drink soda anymore. I have switched to water. I do drink 1-2 cups of coffee in the morning, along with Orange Juice with my Greens but I’m mainly water. IF we go to a fast food place to eat, I do get a small soda, but we don’t go to fast food places often (such as McDonalds, Taco Bell, Dairy Queen, etc)
*Be a better blogger. I want to post more than just sales posts, post more than 1-2 times a month. I might not post EVERY day, but I would like to do better than what I’ve done the past year! I started the year off really good, but then declined drastically! I don’t know what got into me, or why, but it happened.
*Do better at keeping organized and staying on top of my house. My house is not a pig sty, but it does get pretty awful (in my eyes) at times.
**This isn’t a resolution, but it’s my GOAL for the year of 2016** I want to hit Double Diamond with It Works. That is an average of $6000+ a month in income, and I want to get there. I won’t stop until I’m at least Ambassador, which is an absolutely AMAZING income, but Double Diamond is definitely my goal for 2016! I want to get out of the house we’re in and get a plot of land (we’ve found one we like) and have a house built just for us on there!
So, do you do New Years Resolutions? What are a couple of yours?
