My Queens. 👸
I didn’t know I could be the happiest until I discovered the drag community in the Philippines.
I came to know about drag queens in 2023 but never got the chance to immerse myself in the different shows here and there. I knew they existed and appreciated their art, but I wasn’t really into it back then, until I came across some clips of Drag Race Philippines Season 3.
There’s this undeniable charm in each queen that led me to binge-watch the first few episodes, and I eventually got hooked until the finale. I never thought I’d fall so in love with drag culture, especially here in the Philippines.
I love how each one of them has a unique story to tell. Each of them represents a community, and with their stories, it’s as if I was introduced to another spectrum. As I watched and followed along the journey of the queens, my love for them grew more each day.
I don’t actually know where this is coming from, but I’m just so glad that I got to know their stories through Drag Race Philippines Season 3. This is one of the best highlights of my life that I treasure the most, and I will definitely share it with the generation that comes after me.
Now that Drag Race Philippines Season 3 has come to an end, I hope to be one of the people who strive hard to rally with the queens and create a safe space for all aspiring queens in the future. This doesn’t stop with fangirling over my S3 queens. My love for them extends to all the drag queens in the Philippines. I couldn’t thank God enough for leading me to those few clips of S3.
I am excited to learn more about their community and to be one of the allies in creating a safer space in society.
Oh, what a joy it is to have known these queens and to witness them touch the lives of many.
I love you so much, my queens. 💕
