Emergency: Help save my children's lives

Dear humanity,

I am Habib from Gaza. I am married and have four children: Menna, 12 years old, Adam, 10 years old (suffering from quadriplegia), Maria, 6 years old, and Ezz, one year old. Although they are young, they have survived previous wars, but this current war is the most difficult of all. This is a war of genocide, and the difficulty of the war lies in the inability to meet the needs of my son Adam, who needs special care.

Over the past ten months, we have been caught in the crossfire of the ongoing conflict in Gaza. Our once peaceful home in Khan Yunis has been reduced to rubble, and now we find ourselves displaced in Deir al-Balah, living in squalid conditions in a makeshift tent on the streets. The devastation not only deprived us of our physical shelter, but also destroyed my livelihood - the once thriving business that supported our family's well-being, is now in ruins. The daily struggle for survival is exacerbated by the scarcity of basic necessities such as clean water, adequate sanitation and basic medical supplies

Our home was the place where we found hope and safety, and where we made precious memories. Losing him was like losing years of our lives.

Not only that, they destroyed my source of livelihood, burned it, and demolished it with bulldozers, and today I am without a home and without a job. I was working in a store I owned that met the needs and expenses of my family

Living in tents is miserable. There is a lack of drinking water, hot sun rays, and strange insects that have terrified my children. What hurts me most is my young son Ezz, who I see growing up in an unclean environment and with no healthy food for him. I believe he has not received his right to life.

At this stage, my husband and I decided to go to you and create an account on the Go Fund Me website and ask you to help us in these difficult times until we get out of Gaza, from the land of war to the land of peace. All we need from you is to support us and help us to get out of the war, even if you cannot help. You should spread the word. This campaign is everywhere and among your friends. The amount that will be collected from this campaign :

We will spend it by paying the amount to coordinate entry through the Rafah land crossing, which connects Gaza to the State of Egypt, since, as I mentioned, they charge an adult $5,000, but depending on the pressures, crises, and waiting, the amount may reach $7,000 per person, and children $2,500 to $4,000.

We will also use it for the rest of the travel and safe transportation expenses to provide for all family members.

US-ians without health insurance would normally be able to get free covid shot access through the end of the year, but it was cut at the end of august to prevent a government shutdown.

If you, like me, are uninsured in the united states and want the new covid vaccine sooner than later, first please look into local resources/ nearby vaccine clinics/community health departments because they can offer low-cost or no cost vaccinations (albeit it may be a few weeks until they have covid shots on hand. they should have flu shots right now).

Instead, you need to search for “Comirnaty” (Pfizer’s current covid vaccine), “Spikevax” (Moderna’s current covid vaccine), or “Novavax” (for, of course, Novavax’s covid vaccine).

i'm worried that palestinian fundraisers have been slowing dramatically the past few weeks because people think their goal numbers are 'a lot of money', and ignore them.

so, as the one-year mark of this ongoing genocide approaches, i'd ask you to think seriously about how much money it costs just to keep yourself alive for an entire year. $15,000? $10,000? could you live off just $5,000? for a whole year?

i am asking you to think about the reality of what this means for a family undergoing repeated displacements, bullet wounds, other medical emergencies, and now homelessness—in an occupied country that is being brutally price-gouged and cut off from even basic humanitarian aid by military border blockades.

mohammed's fundraising goal has not yet been met, and he's going to update his gfm page to reflect that as soon as he gets a stable internet connection. until then, there's really only one question.

I do wanna say while I'm reblogging hbomberguy stuff that I'm extremely uninterested in calling out anyone's viewers because they "should've known better" or "should've seen the red flags." The entire point of the video is that these people are exploiting an algorithm and churning out massive amounts of content. It's not a moral failing to not watch a YouTuber's entire weekly back catalog and google around for criticisms.

I got more I can say about video essays and documentaries and their issues with sourcing in general, but I'm gonna save it.

so the new Hbomberguy video on plagiarism is apparently causing a lot of people concern; so to reiterate: as you learn on your first day in school, it is incredibly easy to not plagiarize, simply put quotation marks around EVERYTHING that you are citing, add a footnote referring to what you are citing... and just don't pretend that you came up with that....... and then.... say something interesting from your own perspective, place two quotes against each-other and say something about their relation.... do... the bare minimum.

I think one element of Israeli propaganda that a lot people are unintentionally aligning themselves with is the idea of Gaza as the main target of Israeli violence. During the "truce" even, so many people talking about how it was a "pause" even though people in the West Bank, Damascus, and Lebanon were still being killed by Israeli forces because the "truce" was only negotiated for Gaza (where it was also not adhered to). But as a Lebanese person with family in Lebanon and Palestinian loved ones, I need people to remember that Gaza is not a state. Gaza isn't a country. Israel won't destroy Gaza and call it a day as if Gaza is their main goal because it's not. It's "from the river to the sea Palestine will be free" because the free Palestine movement is about ending Israeli occupation of all Palestine and surrounding countries. It's not a reform movement about getting Israel to behave. It's an anti-colonial movement that aims to give ALL of Palestine back to Palestinians. Of course, the extreme violence Israel is enacting on Palestinians in Gaza is horrific. it's also obvious Israel is relying on the horror it's caused in Gaza to distract people from holding them to account for their ongoing violence in the rest of Palestine, as well as Lebanon, Syria and the Congo. Israel divided Palestine up so the world would forget it, don't be party to that. Talk about Gaza, the West Bank, Jenin, Hebron because it's all Palestine and all of it must be free. End the occupation. End the apartheid state of Israel.

I don't think anyone appreciates how funny Pope Franics actually is. Imagine being elected to the head of an over the top bad guy organization that would make you the final boss of a jrpg, and you spend your entire time there sitting around and saying things like "maybe we should reconsider our 'people dying is good' policy.
