This is a part from a commissioned art piece I’m still working on.

I’m sharing this because I’m contemplating redrawing Snape’s face… to clarify, this isn’t a young Snape but rather Professor Snape.

While I’m not dissatisfied with this rendition, the client has specifically asked for a more handsome and youthful representation. This request is understandable given that this fan art portrays Snape in a romantic context. (Guess who he’s paired with? 🤣)

Sometimes I wonder if I’ve allowed my personal interpretations of Snape’s appearance to influence this piece too much… For instance, I often struggle to resist adding wrinkles to his face, especially since this is meant to be Professor Snape. 😂(Not because of ageing, as Professor Snape was definitely still young in his 30s, but to reflect the weariness and strain of his hard life. )

Thinking yet again about the untapped snupin potential of that time when Remus went spying among the werewolves. Ok, we know that Death Eaters and werewolves don't mingle that much - Voldemort doesn't even seem to have any real use for them, except maybe Greyback in the role of muscle/bogeyman. And Lupin, despite going no-contact for a bit, has enough freedom to go to the Burrow for Christmas so mayyyybe we don't need to have Snape risk it all, go to the werewolves with some excuse, and sneak Lupin a bit of Wolfsbane Potion. But still, I just love the possible dynamic of the newbie spy in a nightmarish situation + the hardened spy with a bit too much on his plate. We also have all the angst of the relationship having an expiration date already set thanks to Dumbledore's necessary death.

Yes, I fell into the old "oooohh I should definitely draw this scene, it would inspire me AND look so nice with the finished chapter!", so now I have 0 words written and just one third of a drawing. I overestimate both my amount of free time and my will to draw multiple characters and background.
