i turned down my 3ds when i won as rosalina or kirby in smash bros because i didn't want anyone knowing i was playing "girly" characters. in year 5 we had a buddy system where we were were assigned a year 1 kid to have as a buddy (which was like, sometimes we went into their class and did something with them? i don't really remember the details, it's not important) and i was the only "boy" who had a girl buddy. i knew it didn't matter, i knew it was silly, i didn't really mind, but i cried anyway, it felt like i was being embarrassed and i was doing something wrong. one of my earliest memories is reading a sleeping beauty book (in my own house, the book collection it came from was probably mine) and quickly putting it away when my mum walked in. idk if something happened when i was so little that i don't remember it or i blocked it out but it still affected me or something, but i was terrified of being perceived as feminine growing up, so i never really related to all the cliche egg signs.

That earlier ask you got that started with not having many typical egg experiences got me thinking about my own experiences. I didn’t really do many eggy things either mostly because I never felt like I was allowed to.

Can’t play as a girl in games because I’m a guy.

Can’t even look at girls clothes for too long because I’m a guy.

Painting my nails? Makeup? Actually caring about my appearance outside of pure functionality? That’s not guy stuff.

Thankfully, I’ve been taking those sweet sweet E pills for three and a half months now, but damn. I now really wish someone had grabbed teenage me by the shoulders and told him it was okay to be girly.

For the purposes of this poll, assume there are reasonable options available with which to feed the kid(s), it's not out of desperation/poverty. Assume also that the kid(s) have access to adequate amounts of the pet food to be full. This poll is asking about food specifically designed for pets– e.g. kibble, canned "wet food," etc (not just pet-safe "people food").

Anon once tried some dog kibble and thought it tasted disgusting. Since pets seem to love their food, though, they wondered if a child who grew up eating only food designed for animals would think it tasted good. Anon is not a scientist and wouldn't actually want to do this experiment anyway for a multitude of ethical reasons, but they're curious about others' thoughts.
