Your art is extremely beautiful, you are one of my favorite artists, thanks to you I have taken an appreciation of traditional art. Hopefully one day you can draw only Yui, I would like to know how you see it in your mind. I would also love to see a drawing by Karlheinz made by you, it would be truly beautiful! ❤️❤️❤️ Obviously this is just a suggestion, if you do not want to draw any of that it is totally understandable. :)

I do take requests/suggestions into consideration but the past like six months to a year I haven't drawn nearly as much as I've wanted to, so I tend to only focus on what really strikes or inspires me in the moment. I haven't started anything new yet but I do always keep suggestions in the back of my mind 😊😊

Heyyo I know you don't like to tag your artwork in the dl tags and I understand and all but I seen someone repost and alter your work without giving you credit. You really should tag your stuff so people can see it and know that it belongs to you. J/s

Thank you, that's a good point. With tumblr's new restrictions, I've been considering that it might be a good idea to tag it anyhow.

And yeah, a friend of mine showed me the reposted art and I've messaged them, requesting they give me credit. I really don't appreciate people reposting my work without crediting me, or altering it without asking me first. Just ask me, I'll most likely say yes! I spend a lot of time and effort and practice into my drawings, and I would appreciate the proper credit given. It's just basic, proper etiquette to do for artists.

So I logged off tumblr for over a week in protest over their idiotic policy that isn’t even curbing the pornbots (when I logged back on today I had like twenty new porn followers. yay). So yeah I don’t know how active I’ll be on here. I am on a waiting list for pillowfort.io.

I miss being on here, but the whole debacle left a really bad taste in my mouth, especially since it hasn’t even fixed the bot problem. I’d rather support a platform that will cater to fandoms and will listen to their users, and it seems like pillowfort will do that. So we’ll see ¯\_(ツ)_/¯

Didn't I see you on instagram before? That platform is pretty good for artists and deviantart.

Yes I was on Instagram but it kept connecting my account to fb even though I never connected them. So my irl friends and family were finding me there and I freaked out lol because I don't want them seeing the kind of artwork I post omggg. Then I found out that if you have both fb and insta apps on your phone, that fb will automatically connect them, whether you want them to or not. So I totally deleted my account. Maybe if I try insta just on chrome browser on my phone? I don't know. We'll see. I really dont feel like putting this much effort into this ugghhh. This is all just such a ****mess****. I actually think this might kill tumblr >.<

Why do you like diabolik lovers?

There are many complicated reasons why I love the series. First, to be clear, I do not like the anime. It is so cringy and doesn’t at all do justice to the story. I am what the fandom calls a “dark fan” because I only like first game, Haunted Dark Bridal, and the first volumes of drama CDs. I do not like any of the games or CDs after that because the writers turned the characters and the story romantic, which in turn romanticized the abuse.

And yes, the vampires and the story are abusive asf. On the surface, people who aren’t familiar with the series would be quite shocked I’m into it, especially since I’m an abuse survivor myself and I’ve worked as an intern therapist for abuse survivors. But the first game and drama CDs were catered to a small group of people who are into sadomasochism. It’s an otome game, a dating simulation. And though most otome are romantic, HDB is for people who fantasize being with villians, and in this case, dangerous vampires who are actually monsters that can (and sometimes do) kill you.

In HDB, the writers didn’t hold back with the abuse and the psychological disorders that the vampires have. It’s a detailed and extremely realistic portrayal of how abuse victims turn into abusers, and how abusers break their victims mentally. At times, it can be almost too realistic, especially with the use of the dummy head mic (in case you don’t know, the dummy head mic makes it feel like the vampires are right there in the room with you. You can actually feel them moving around, even feel their breath across the back of your neck ಠ_ಠ). There were many times I got too absorbed in the story and had to take breaks because it was so demented and sadistic and disturbing.

However, it is this realistic portrayal that also draws me in. These vampires are horrible and terrifying, yet at the same time, they can ellicite feelings of empathy for what they’ve been through. It doesn’t excuse what they do to the mc, but I love characters that can show many complicated sides. And that’s one reason I love HDB so much because even though they can make you feel sad for these demented creatures, they don’t romanticize the abuse (at least for the most part. Shuu and Subaru are romanticized somewhat). Mostly, the characters are horrible throughout the story and usually end up warping the mc’s mind, or even killing her in the end.

On top of being frightening vampires that make you feel empathy for them, they’re also sexy as hell while they’re terrifying the shit out of you. So, it’s a safe way to explore the fantasy of dangerous men, without ever getting hurt. I like my fictional otome men to be scary, dominant guys and DL fits that description perfectly, while at the same time giving a realistic portrayal of abuse, abusers, and the mental disorders that often accompany abuse.

So yeah, that’s in a nutshell why I like DL ^̮^

This is a second version I did, adding a lot more charcoal to the background. I was picturing Kanato remembering when his mother would lock him in the dungeon, with the darkness surrounding him, both in his physical environment and in his mind.
