Being asexual is a no-win situation. Everything is about sex and everyone and everything is sexualised and objectified, but sex is also presented as something taboo and impure that will stain you forever. You can have sex, but then you're not ace, but if you don't have sex, you're immature, robotic, frigid, inhuman. You owe people sex, but it's a cardinal sin to do so. You need to at least try to have sex, but you won't be asexual if you do. You will be considred pure and virginal if you don't have sex, but if you don't, you need to divulge your entire personal history and whether or not you've been abused, in graphic detail. Damned if you do, damned if you don't.
