both Rings of Power and Blood Origin are prequels that portray the younger version of important elf characters that are very different from the version most people "know" and they got so much hate for that

Indeed friend. It is very sad to me how unappreciated both shows are just because it wasn’t what the right person wanted or expected it to be. How many of us were cool, confident swag masters in our younger years? Not many. Our faves probably wouldn't be either. Biggest shame is that the actors get so much hate and called all manner of names for just doing their job. And Heaven forbid those of us fans that dared to have the 'gall' to actually enjoy the shows for what they are and not get worked up over every little detail. Wishing you the best, Anon. is that piece of media actually bad, or is it just not following the blueprint you projected onto it? is that work actually not good, or are you just demanding something from it that is absolutely antithetical to its themes, genre, tone, and narrative goal? is that story actually poorly written, or do you just dislike that it is not the specific things you wanted from it that it never set out to be, never was, and never is going to become? is it actually bad, or is it actually well-executed and you just dislike the story it chose to be because it isn't catering to your specific desires and expectations?

I still maintain that while there were plenty of flaws with the show the best thing about Blood Origin was baby Avallac'h before his heart was destroyed and he became filled with hate after losing his beloved Lara to Chad Broski-er I mean Creg. He's invited to have a personal meeting with the Queen of all Elves after inadvertently foiling the assassination attempt on her and the first thing out of his mouth is "asdfghjkl!!! Is that a first edition book?!?!" and he geeks out over her collection of books. Thankfully the Queen is cool about it. He then goes on to inadvertently became a bodyguard/spy to the Queen in a dangerous power struggle and ultimately manages to brilliantly unlock the secrets of travel through time and space -despite hilariously being unable to perform under pressure at first- which will ultimately allow him to become a part of Ciri's destiny. Absolutely love him.
