Sevenfriday V3/01 “The Driver’s Edition”
+ Interesting way to read time + Well-constructed case and dial + Loads of wrist presence + Very interesting for the money, looks expensive + Cool looking, unique, unusual
- Exposed part of movement looks rough in comparison to rest of dial - Uses 28mm strap (customized strap makers a must for new straps) - Requires practice to tell time at a glance - Very wide 49mm case - Pretty pricey for what it is

Seagull 1963 Chronograph
+ Affordable + Decorated, column-wheel manufacture handwound movement + Interesting history + Attractive, vintage looks
- Quality can be iffy - Origin of watch can also be iffy (Is it really from Sea-Gull?) - Timekeeping is dependent on luck
Further reading: 1, 2, 3

Is there a cooler music box than this? Nope... didn’t think so.

I’m not usually fond of special edition Royal Oak Offshores, but the Pride of Indonesia is a little special. I love the discreet rose gold case back and the combination of black and gold on the dial. As I always say, black and gold and you have a winner!

The big guns are all bringing out their special one-off pieces for the upcoming Only Watch auction.Â
This blue dial Tourbillon Souverain Bleu is one of my favs. Tantalum case and if the regular Chronometre Bleu is anything to go by, the blue dial of this unique piece should be stunning.

If you are considering the Sinn U1 but think that it looks a little too boring or that too many people already have it, the Sinn U1-D is right up your alley (provided you like the desert military theme going on here). The watch is tough as nails and the leather strap is really nice.

Tudor, simply killing it and giving people what they want. Oh, and before you rush off to the stores, this is a one-off piece for the upcoming Only Watch auction. Expect it to go under the hammer for a pretty penny.

I was in Taiwan recently and no trip to Taiwan would be complete without a visit to my favorite strapmaker - Wotancraft. While I was there, I had them customize a new strap for my PAM 372 and my fiancee’s Milgauss. Here are they are.
Would post new photos after I mounted them.

The Submariner is the safe choice, but not without good reasons. To begin, Rolex makes solid watches. You might argue that the Sub looks boring, but you cannot deny its impeccable build quality. Timekeeping is excellent too. The Submariner is so popular because at its heart, it’s really just a extremely well made watch.

Always sad to see Breitling getting bashed on watch forums. The brand makes some really nice watches such as this Transocean Unitime Pilot. In-house movement with 70 hrs power reserve, column-wheel construction, chronograph and world time complications with classic, vintage-esque styling, what more could you want?

If I could only have a single Panerai, this would be it. All the essence of the brand distilled into a lovely 47mm Luminor case with a sexy domed plexiglass crystal.

I hate the phrase “bang for buck”, but the Tissot is literally the physical manifestation of this phrase. If you are looking for a dress watch on a budget, you could do worse than the Visodate.
One thing to note though: notice how much space the day and date window takes up. I’m also not fond of the index at 3 o’clock - they should really just be rid of it.Â
Still, the Visodate comes highly recommended, even if I don’t find it particularly pretty.

SevenFriday’s second collection - the M-series - is much more refined and legible. The initial P-series is interesting, sure, but it is hard to read and if you have ever examined one up close, you would find that the exposed balance is often coarsely finished and not in keeping with the rest of the watch. M over P, it is.

The Helberg CH6 Bronze is one of the latest bronze watches to hit the shelves and I’m seriously considering one.
I have been hankering for a bronze piece for the longest time and many are too generic for my liking.Â
The CH6 Bronze, however, is different. Unique case design, super dome crystal and comes with nice straps. Very nice, but it comes at a pretty high price.
Not sure I want to pay so much for what is essentially a “boutique” dive watch?

I always thought the DSSD looked clumsy, and the new D-Blue dial DSSD is no different.Â
The graduated dial is cool and the “Deepsea” in green font is bold, but overall, the watch just does not quite do for it.Â
The live photos are not any better.

Apologies for the lack of updates, been a crazy few months.
So I finally succumbed and bought the new blue and black GMT. Not only that, I also got my girlfriend the Milgauss GV.
Rolex’s reputation for making solid watches is not undeserved. Really nicely finished cases and finishing, and all around good time-keeping.
