Im honestly not quite sure whether this is a dream or the truth, but as my supposed wife.... gods that sounds nice. As my wife stands there, teary eyed and smiling and our daughters look on, hands clenched together, eyes full of hope despite the fear in their frowns.
"This... this will sound dumb. But... if I am a reincarnation, why did past me not want to be a vampire like the rest of you?"
My wife seemed elated, "you've asked that question every time for a dozen lives, beloved. What do you think the answer is?"
I eyed my daughters, then my wife, wondering why I wouldnt have just joined them in immortality.
But... I had always dreamed of getting to grow old. The cycle of life was enchanting.
"Because I've always wanted to grow old with you," I smile as a tiny little key seems to unlock the slightest of memories. The same face in front of mine, the same hands on my cheeks.
"How we've missed you darling."
You are kidnapped by three female vampires who claim that they’re your wife and two daughters from your past life, who miss you and have been searching for your reincarnation for a hundred years, so that you can be a family again.

A brief google says that to isolate iron from the blood you would either do some serious chemistry work (which has been done before) or you would need a maspectrometer.
I..... kinda wanna try this... just without the killing people part....

I went to a very small university qnd our only Figure in Art model was a sixty year old woman. She had fat folds and loose skin, and impressively, not a single student complained.
We learned at the start how to draw fat people and it has made drawing skinny people easier too, because you can see and you know where any extra muscle or contracted muscle will bulk and you can apply it realistically.
I didnt continue with drawing or painting, but it was one of my favorite classes.
fat bodies, fat anatomy, and how body fat tends to work should be taught as standardly as skinny anatomy and how muscles work in art courses. fat bodies are not an outlier. fat bodies are not a minority and theyre not abnormal or wrong. fat bodies are normal and they belong in art teaching spaces as commonly as other anatomy, because fat bodies ARE normal anatomy. people have diverse bodies and there will never be a single body type that encompasses the "normal body type"
tldr; fat anatomy should be taught as a staple in art courses just like any other anatomy. this is fact <3

i’m gonna make a movie where two normal ladies fall in love. everything’s chill, no age gap, they’re both out of the closet, their families love them, everything’s fine. the catch is that one lady has a cat and the other lady never figured out what the cat’s name was cause the Owner Lesbian ALWAYS uses a dumb nickname and now it’s been three years and they’re getting married and it’s too late to just ask

I have … a tip.
If you’re writing something that involves an aspect of life that you have not experienced, you obviously have to do research on it. You have to find other examples of it in order to accurately incorporate it into your story realistically.
But don’t just look at professional write ups. Don’t stop at wikepedia or webMD. Look up first person accounts.
I wrote a fic once where a character has frequent seizures. Naturally, I was all over the wikipedia page for seizures, the related pages, other medical websites, etc.
But I also looked at Yahoo asks where people where asking more obscure questions, sometimes asked by people who were experiencing seizures, sometimes answered by people who have had seizures.
I looked to YouTube. Found a few individual videos of people detailing how their seizures usually played out. So found a few channels that were mostly dedicated to displaying the daily habits of someone who was epileptic.
I looked at blogs and articles written by people who have had seizures regularly for as long as they can remember. But I also read the frantic posts from people who were newly diagnosed or had only had one and were worried about another.
When I wrote that fic, I got a comment from someone saying that I had touched upon aspects of movement disorders that they had never seen portrayed in media and that they had found representation in my art that they just never had before. And I think it’s because of the details. The little things.
The wiki page for seizures tells you the technicalities of it all, the terminology. It tells you what can cause them and what the symptoms are. It tells you how to deal with them, how to prevent them.
But it doesn’t tell you how some people with seizures are wary of holding sharp objects or hot liquids. It doesn’t tell you how epileptics feel when they’ve just found out that they’re prone to fits. It doesn’t tell you how their friends and family react to the news.
This applies to any and all writing. And any and all subjects. Disabilities. Sexualities. Ethnicities. Cultures. Professions. Hobbies. Traumas. If you haven’t experienced something first hand, talk to people that have. Listen to people that have. Don’t stop at the scholarly sources. They don’t always have all that you need.

- Short King
- wife basically never mentioned and certainly not by name. yet he has a son who’s on screen quite a lot? and he’s not the kind of guy who would only mourn his son, even if it was a political marriage and she died fairly early in it– it’s deeply weird he doesn’t mourn her and no one (azula) brings her up as weapon. unless there is no wife
- good secret society member
- super supportive of Smellerbee and instantly course corrects in a manner that makes it clear the misgendering was his foolish mistake while also complimenting her.
- basically fits the high class version of the archetype Jackrum from Monstrous Regiment does
- puts “I am your loyal son” from Ozai into a whole new category of disrespect, Azulon sucked but it’s hilarious if you consider it as him being like “YOU’VE SUBTLY MISGENDERED YOUR BROTHER FOR THE LAST TIME! HE WILL BE FIRE LORD, DIPSHIT.”

“i don’t like writing about my day, but i want to keep a journal”:
quotes and copywork. when reading, if you find something you enjoy, just copy it into the notebook. you can copy a whole chapter if you wish, highlighting what caught your attention the most.
definitions. look up on a dictionary and copy it. you could write your own dictionary as well, making up definitions for words.
lists. a classic, write movies to watch, books to read, the playlist of the month or just the groceries you have to buy.
maps. when going somewhere, you could draw the route you took or just a map of the place itself. just look up the place on google maps and copy it. you can draw a little map of all the places you have lived or the schools you have attended as well.
photos
take “notes” as you watch movies / documentaries. write down phrases that caught your attention or doodle.
illustrations and clippings. if you see an image or piece of art that you liked, put it in your journal. if it’s from a book or from a magazine I would recommend scanning it, tho’. it will serve as a record of what kind of art you enjoy through the years.
newspaper clippings from the day.
tickets and pamphlets. from movies, museums, transportation.
postcards
records. you could record for a month what the temperature was when you woke up and when you went to sleep. if you do that for a year, it gives you a better notion of the passing of seasons. you could record rainfall and other seasonal changes as well. you could choose something (an animal, a plant, an item or object) and write down every time you see it.
rubbings of leaves, coins, landmarks.
count. there’s a scene in the movie Coraline (2009) where Coraline’s dad tells her to go count the windows. you could do the same type of counting game if you are bored and write down.
mindmaps/sketchnotes + timelines of books, movies, music albums.
collages
pressed leafs and flowers
your collections. if you collect anything you could write down an inventory or maybe try to draw the items.
recipes. write down recipes and give it a score every time you try it. you could do the same for drinks you try out.
stickers
comic strips. you can find a bunch of it online, glue your favorites in your notebook.
