Fate (Marcus Davenport Prologue)
This is an AU where everyone gets a soulmate mark when they're born. Each mark is unique and designed to match the soulmates' personalities and/or future. Despite everyone being born with a mark, not everyone meets their soulmate. When a soulmate dies, the living soulmate/s have their mark replaced with a broken string design.
A/N: I've decided I'm going to make this a series instead of a oneshot because I have so many ideas on how to progress the story and it's not enough to put in one post. I'll be writing everything on Quotev and then paste it on here and Wattpad. I had to cut some writing but I hope you enjoy the prologue!
~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~
Douglas Davenport, an inventor with evil intentions has just created an android. An android that's programmed to complete its mission, no matter what. Douglas didn't plan on forming any attachments with his creation. After all, Bionic Androids won't last long. The Bionics would fry the android's circuits. There was no reason to get attached. Well, that was the plan anyway. Turns out not getting attached would be impossible. As soon as the android became active, smoke filled the air and Douglas worried he had failed. So, when his creation moved and began to ask questions, he was ecstatic. It had worked. "Who are you?" The android asked. Douglas grinned, unaware of the conflict he'd have moments later. "I'm your dad, Marcus." The android tilted its head. Douglas then realized a key detail he failed to mention. "Oh, and by the way, your name is Marcus."
The android, Marcus, raised his brow. "Marcus." He muttered to himself. Before Douglas could say anything else, a bright light surrounded Marcus, temporarily blinding his creator. When the light had faded, a simple and small butterfly mark had appeared on Marcus's cheek. Marcus, an android, had gotten a soulmate mark. But that was impossible! Only humans got soulmate marks! Marcus wouldn't even live long enough to meet his soulmate! Douglas began to mutter repeated 'no's as he realized the situation. Somewhere out there, a poor kid or kids would have finally gotten a mark, just for their hope to die by year 16. Douglas may be evil, he may have done bad things but the one thing he could not do was let someone lose their soulmate. He knew what that pain was like. He knew that horrible feeling you get when your soulmate dies. Douglas was not going to let someone suffer that same feeling. Experience that same pain. No, not at all.
-On a different side of Mission Creek-
She almost cried when she looked in the mirror. All her life, her 'parents' forced her to wear a bandage where her mark was meant to be. All her life, she had wondered why she was the only one without a mark. Not even the severed string mark. But finally, she got it. A beautiful butterfly mark. It was small and simple but she loved it. She loved it with all her heart.
My mother showed me a video of a little girl and tried to tell me it was a boy when it was obvious the kid was happy being presented as a girl and therefore it was a girl.
Edit: The video shown to me was a video about a kid transitioning with their mother’s support. I apologize for any confusion.
Signed, Yours Truly. Loki Oneshot
Relationship: Loki x Fem!Reader
Warnings: Angst, Hanahaki Disease, Mention of blood and death
A/N: Made this at around 1 maybe 2 in the morning and decided to edit it a bit
Tumblr media
I wanted to be her more than anything. She got to see his smile, hold his hand, she got to love him without restraints. I couldn't do that. While she has her affection returned, I must keep my love hidden. I don't know what would happen if I confessed my love for him. I suppose we'll never know what could happen. Signed, yours truly. "Hey, kiddo! Is this your book?" You look up from your phone to see Tony holding up your journal. More specifically, the journal you dedicated to Loki. "Tony, I'm begging you! Give it back, it's very important." You panicked. Tony raised his eyebrow before grinning and running out the room. You chase after him and eventually he stops in the room with the rest of the Avengers, including Loki. "Tony, I'm begging you, please. Don't read it!" You cried out. Tony stands on a table and begins to read. "I can't help it, it's just so painful. I can't help the snide remarks and eyerolls. I can't help it. Seeing her with him is like poison because I know I could never get him to look at me the way he looks at her. It's like being held under water when I see them kiss and share affections. I should be happy for him but I can't." Tony hesitates before continuing to read. "I know I shouldn't but I want to tear them apart. But I won't. I can't. Not when his eyes gleam, not when he seems so happy and at peace. I can't bring myself to end them. I'd be a liar if I said I hadn't cried myself to sleep. I'd be a liar if I said that I could move on. A liar if I said I didn't love him. But what can I do besides leave them be? I hope she treats him well and that they love each other for all of eternity. Even if it kills me. Signed, yours truly. I fear that this will be the last time I sleep in Avengers Tower. I've been assigned a mission and while I told the others it was simple, I know the survival chances are low. I will most likely die on the battlefield in a ray of glory. I'm sorry. Signed, yours truly." Tony flipped through a couple more pages before continuing. He needed to know who made you feel this way. "It's been two years since I last wrote in this book. I suppose I couldn't bring myself to write down my feelings. Sigyn asked me for advice on the kind of present to give to Loki. I wanted to lie and make him hate her but I couldn't. So I told her all the things Loki loves. It hurt more than I realized. It's just a present. I hope she gives Loki the love he deserves. Signed, yours truly." Tony flipped to the very last page. "I've just gotten some bad news. After all these years of working for SHIELD, I’ve been forced into retirement. They’ve allowed me one mission of my choice. It's seems I'll be leaving the Avengers and going on this last mission. This mission is my goodbye to SHIELD. To the Avengers. To Loki. I've decided to give my life to this mission and I will for there is no other way. Even if I have to turn myself into a bomb, and watch as the news of my death is given. I will admit my feelings to myself though. I wish I could have confessed. I wish I had told him before Sigyn came. I wish I could tell Loki how much I love him. To tell Sigyn that I envy her. To tell everyone about my illness. It's strange really. I didn't think a mythical disease could come true. I suppose I'm the first case of this disease. Why do I even write this? No one will read it. No one will find out. No one is going to realize how much I envied and despised Sigyn while adoring her all the same. No one will know how I felt. I wish things were different. I wanted to be her more than anything. She got to see his smiled, hold his hand, she got to love him without restraints. I couldn't do that. While she has her affection returned, I must keep my love hidden. I don't know what would happen if I confessed my love for him. I suppose we'll never know what could happen. Signed, Yours Truly. Goodbye." Tony finished. Everyone looked over to you in shock. You smile bitterly. "Signed, yours truly." You say as a tear slips down your cheek. You leave the room before anyone could speak. You went straight to your room and got your mission bag. You called Fury to tell him the Avengers found out. He made sure to get you a ride to HQ as soon as possible. You went on your mission that day and you never came back. The Avengers were searching for you everywhere until Fury arrived. He had handed Tony your badge and goodbye letters along with your medical records. You had been diagnosed with a disease that they thought was a legend. Hanahaki Disease. It wasn't until they saw your corpse in the casket with flowers decorating your body that they realized how sick you had been. The flowers sticking out of your skin were coated in dried blood. "She wanted every last flower to stay attached. Said if even one flower was cut from her body, she’d find a way to fight back. She didn’t want to forget.” Fury said. "What do that mean?" Tony asked with tears in his eyes. Everyone looked to Fury who sighed. "Hanahaki Disease. A disease where flowers begin to bloom in the lungs, slowly and painfully killing the host. This disease is not contagious but it is deadly and can happen to anyone. The disease comes from un-requited love that the host feels. Unless the host falls out of love, the flowers removed, or get their love returned, the host dies. Removing the flowers gets rid of every last memory of the host's love. If the flowers aren't removed, their love not returned, or if the host doesn't move on, the flowers will take over every part of the body before breaking through the skin. It starts as trouble breathing, then coughing up blood-stained petals, to barely bloomed- flowers, before lastly, it's full grown flowers. If the flowers being pushed from your throat doesn't kill you, then blood loss or the flowers wrapped around your lungs will. She demanded that the flowers were left alone. Even if it made her corpse impossible to look at." The was the last Fury had seen them. Everyone became isolated and resentful after your funeral. Eventually, Sigyn sat everyone down and revealed that she had been cheating on Loki around the time Hanahaki was at it's worse in you. In a flash, everyone broke in angry tears as they tried to attack Sigyn. Loki didn't try to stop them. "I CAN'T BELIEVE I WAS BLAMING LOKI WHEN YOU'RE THE REASON SHE EVEN GOT THE DAMN ILLNESS!" Everyone turned against her and she was kicked out. The remaining Avengers spent their time grieving but together instead of alone. No one was ever able to get over your death and Loki had sworn to never love anyone ever again. Even after 10 years had passed, the Avengers still grieved. Neither as much as Loki did. Signed, yours truly.
I watched Loki episode 4...
I didn’t make a post about episode 3 since there wasn’t much to really write about beside the truth of the TVA but I just saw episode 4 and guys, I need to talk about it. So it’s revealed that the TVA workers are all Variants who had their memory wiped. Loki tries to tell Mobius who dismisses and insults him. That on it’s own got me wanting to talk but we’ll ignore that. So Sylvie says she was a kid when the TVA took her and we get to see what she was doing before her capture. Based on how fast they arrived when Loki first caused a nexus event, it’s safe to say that they arrived just as quickly for Sylvie. It seemed to me that Sylvie had been playing there for quite a while. She didn’t seem like she did anything major and earlier on, Ravonna says she doesn’t remember what they took Sylvie for with a smug smirk. I think Sylvie was taken for something small and ridiculous like saying the wrong thing or playing with the wrong toy and Ravonna knows this. She also shows no sign of shock when the Time Keepers turn out to be robots. I think Ravonna was one of the first people to have arrived in the TVA, maybe even helped build it. I also think she doesn’t know what the pruning stick actually does. Near the end we are tricked into thinking they killed Loki but after the beautiful outro we get a cutscene. Loki is alive, he kept his injuries but he’s alive and not alone. In front of him was different variations of his self with broken buildings in the background. The building structure makes me assume that this place used to be on earth before all life died. I also think that this is where all Loki’s get sent. I have reason to believe that when someone is ‘pruned’, they are actually sent to a realm where all of their variations go to. That would mean Loki is in a realm of Lokis (sounds like heaven) and that Mobius who was also ‘pruned’ could be in a realm of Mobius’. The Lokis also say that if our Loki doesn’t come with them he will be dead. I think there’s someone or something in that realm assigned to kill them. Of course the Lokis figure out how to survive though. My prediction is that Sylvie finds out the truth from Ravonna but not all of it, Loki teams up with the other Lokis to find a way out and learns what Sylvie didn’t. They take down the TVA and give everyone’s memories back before going their separate ways. Maybe they’ll have Sylvie and Loki, maybe even Mobius stay together at the end. I personally want them to let Sylvie finally go home and Loki to finally be in his brother’s embrace again. I also feel like Loki got pretty attached to Mobius, so maybe Mobius stays with him if he doesn’t want to return to his original timeline. I kind of want Loki and Sylvie to go different paths. As for how the variants would get back to their timeline, the device they use to ‘delete’ timelines is similar to the ‘pruning’ device, which means those timelines could still exist just distanced from the other timelines. If that’s true, I won’t be surprised to find out there’s a twist. It’s just a hunch but what if instead of ‘destroying’ the timelines they rewrite it so that the variant is forgotten completely. I have no proof, just a gut feeling but that’s about it. The last thing I want to say is B-15 won me over, Mobius was kind of a dick, I hate Ravonna but her actress is really pretty, and the Sylvie/Loki relationship is kind of weird but okay. My reasoning for liking B-15 a bit: I wanted to stab her at first but once she realized the truth she became my number 1. While she says some things while the Lokis are gone in the start of the episode, she seemed off when saying so and eventually showed how worried and caring she could be and I love that. Not to mention her power move at the end where she gives her life to helping the Lokis. Like she showed up ready to help, took the collars off, gave them a sword, and fought to the death. That made my heart ache.
Watched Loki Episode 2 and Uh
I need some help guys. So it was an amazing episode overall but something’s bugging me. Near the end of the episode we find out that the other Loki is a female Loki that shares the same appearance as Thor instead of Hela. The problem is that this Fem!Loki has something that’s really bothering me. While I don’t see anything wrong with her, she’s pretty and interesting but she doesn’t make sense to me. Something about her actions and how she worked her plans out seems odd. While her plan is genius, I can’t help but wonder a couple of things. 1) What is her connection to the kablooie candy? At first I thought this was a Jotun!Loki who was comfortable with their Jotun form but that isn’t the case. Why specifaclly a blue candy that depicts a blue demon? If it isn’t a Loki who usually stays in their Jotun form then why? Our Loki wouldn’t do it and the past and future him in the og timeline wouldn’t so why? Maybe I’m thinking to much but it just seems weird. 2) What is with Fem!Loki’s intentions? She doesn’t want to rule the TVA, she bombs the timeline instead of the timekeepers, and she doesn’t show any interest in our Loki. She had the timekeepers location, she said she didn’t have any interest with teaming with Loki but let’s him follow after her through the portal thing, and she said she doesn’t want to rule the TVA at all. If she isn’t gonna rule the TVA, team-up with O!Loki, or take the chance to bomb the timekeepers, then what is she doing? 3) What did fem Loki do to the agent? The agent is clearly distressed and keeps repeating “It’s real.” What is real? The agent explains she revealed the Timekeepers’ location but that doesn’t explain why she kept saying “It’s real.” I thought maybe the Agent was tortured but the agent doesn’t seem injured. Did Fem Loki show the agent something and when the agent assumed it was an illusion, fem Loki proved it wasn’t somehow? Maybe the agent had a family and fem Loki used that to traumatize her??? I’m not sure. Again, I could be reading too much but it just really bugs me.
Can we apperciate our Loki for a while though. He’s so cute and precious! I love how he is very clearly well-adjusted to earth customs and explaining things. You could tell he explained magic’s physics and science to others a lot. I’ll probably make a seperate post where I talk about how cute he is. lololol
About Odin’s Story in Thor 1
Okay I got some sh*t to say about Odin’s little story. I re-watched the scene and the trial scene so I don’t sound stupid and Odin doesn’t really say WHERE he found Loki. Just that he was apparently “abandoned” by his family. That he was” left to die.” He does mention being casted to a frozen rock in TTDW and Loki is seen without clothes as a baby but these are frost giants. They are cold-blodded. They don’t usually wear clothing because they thrive in below-freezing tempertures. The only clothes we see them wear is the clothing that covers their private parts. So what if Loki was actually hidden somewhere and was being guarded but Odin killed the guards because he thought they were protecting more frost giants. Not to mention, if you’re abandoning a child, your not going to leave the baby anywhere near you. Odin claims Loki was unwanted but wouldn’t Loki just be killed or thrown to the streets by Laufey the moment he was born? Wouldn’t Loki be deemed an outcast and die unnamed? The only way Odin could know Loki was actually Laufey’s son is if Loki was inside the palace. You’re not gonna pick a baby from the street and say “Oh this must be the son of the king who’s kingdom I’m destorying!” It just isn’t logical. And before someone says maybe Loki’s birthmother wanted to keep him in the palace, we don’t actually know anything about the mother. We don’t actually see any female frost giants, so it might be a possiblity but I doubt that. If I’m a frost giant who just had a son, chances are I wouldn’t bundle him in a blanket as if he was warm-blooded. If my son was normal, I might give him something to cover his privates but Loki isn’t a normal frost giant. He was born smaller and born to be more adjusted to warmer tempertures. Frost Giants can only deal with certain tempertures for so long. Which is probably why Loki was left on a frozen rock. He wasn’t being abandoned. He was being left to adjust to the cold while the war went on. He was left somewhere that was considered safe with guards who Odin eventually killed. After all, a frost giant baby isn’t going to die from laying on a frozen rock like an asgardian or human would. Lastly, Laufey didn’t actually have any clue on what happened to his son. I’ve read a comment of someone saying that Laufey didn’t even recongize Loki as his son or never asked what Odin did to his son. Which leads me to this conclusion. Laufey didn’t ask where his son was, or treated Loki as his son in Thor 1 because Laufey didn’t know that Loki was his son. Loki passes as an asgardian and everyone refers to him as one, so how would Laufey know Loki’s heritage? Loki never mentions being his son when he talks to Laufey and doesn’t refer to being so whatsoever in the movie. This is why Laufey doesn’t treat Loki as his son or a fellow frost giant. Because Laufey thinks he’s an asgardian. As for why Laufey never asked about what happened to his son or mentions his son, Loki was taken during a war. A war in which Odin was killing frost giants like they were ants. In Laufey’s eyes, Odin is violent, ruthless, and unforgiveable. In Laufey’s eyes, Odin is responsible to what happened to his family. Don’t you think the Queen of frost giants would be by her husband’s side when intruders came? Wouldn’t the Queen insist on killing the man who took her son from her? I think Loki’s birthmother was killed in the war and the last time Laufey saw her, she was hiding Loki somewhere that was meant to be safe. Somewhere that Odin found. Laufey blames Odin for his wife’s death and when he couldn’t find the only family he had left, He blamed Odin for that as well...Laufey thinks his son is dead, that his baby boy was gone in the wind the moment Odin killed those guards. Plus, Laufey doesn’t think Odin is capable of sparring frost giant’s lives. He doesn’t think Odin would spar a child as long as it was a frost giant. Laufey thinks Odin shows no mercy. Which is why he didn’t hesitate when he got the chance to kill Odin. Also, why would Odin take an abandoned baby to connect the two realms if Loki was unwanted? They aren’t going to form an aliallance with Asgard if the child was unwanted and abandoned. The truth of what happened is that Laufey didn’t abandon Loki, Odin kidnapped Loki because he knew Loki was actually loved by his birthparents. Odin took Loki from Laufey who didn’t even realize his son was alive and in Asgard. While I’m sure Odin redeemed himself in some way in the ragnarok movie, I still think he had no right to do what he did. Even if he truly loved Loki, what he did was wrong and unfair on so many levels. Maybe Odin truly thought Loki was unwanted and those guards just so happened to be there; that he was doing something good for Loki. But we don’t get to know the story of the frost giants. We don’t get to see how they lived life before Odin came. We don’t get to see why they are hated so much. Because even if you argue that they tried to take over earth, Odin and Hela took over the NINE realms through bloodshed. For all we know, Jotunhiem only became hateful because they couldn’t forgive Odin like everyone else did. Maybe the frost giants aren’t the monsters that parents tell their children about at night. Maybe the monster that parents tell their children about at night are Asgardians, is the story of Odin.
(I don’t HATE Odin but I do dislike him and I tried to not be bias when writing. Btw, Laufey seems to be about 7 and a half feet tall while Loki is 6′2. He’s still kinda small but Frost Giants propbably need different nutrients that help them grow taller and bigger, nutrients that Loki was never given. If Loki wasn’t taken, he probably would’ve grown to be bigger if Frost Giants really do have nutrients that make them taller and bigger.)
Just watched the first Loki Episode
I got a lot to say about mobius but that’s not what I want to talk about. I want to talk about the things shown in the first episode. First, we find out Loki has been to earth before the first Avenger movie because of a dare Thor gave him. It’s clear Thor never went to earth before the first movie though. When Thor was banished, it was obvious it was his first time there since earth evolved but Loki seemed rather accustomed when he ‘”first” arrived. Obviously the first Avengers movie wasn’t his first time there, he had been to earth before. Based on how Loki reacted in the D.B Cooper moment, it probably wasn’t the first time he was there on a dare either. He was most likely dared to go to earth a couple of times. We also see Mobius questioning why Loki does things which makes me believe that the TVA have little to no knowledge of Thanos. I also think the TVA has little control on what Thanos does. If they did know then they would’ve known Loki was tortured and mind control by Thanos. Now here’s the last thing I want to say in this post: There’s a young child in the beginning who says that it was the devil that killed the TVA agents in the church. The kid’s teeth was also blue, Mobius asks why and the kid reveals a candy brand. The candy brand has a blue devil on it. Near the end, Mobius reveals to Loki the variant they are after is him. The TVA is after a different Loki that escaped. Putting that information together, I think it’s safe to say that the other Loki is comfortable with their Jotun form. That also means this Jotun! Loki couldn’t have a similar timeline to our Loki’s. Our Loki wouldn’t willingly reveal his Jotun form unless he had to. If this other Loki is showing his Jotun form, then it’s possible it’s a Loki with a different life story. This other Loki either found out the truth a different way or handled it a different way. If it’s neither then there could be a chance, it’s a Loki who was never taken by Odin or at least had Odin tell him the truth when he was young.
