hiraeth; title change?

alright, so now that i have a place to talk about this:

hiraeth is significant to the story's plot since zara & soran run away from home. (in a sense) i kind of like naming books words that have plot significance; hence "hiraeth."

i just feel like it's kind of cringe at the same time & when i ask someone if i should change it they say "it's whatever you want."

which thanks; that was useless.

so dear audience, do tell me what i should do.

i really don't have any other name ideas for the story. hiraeth just kind of made sense but i just don't know if people how to pronounce it. (hear-aye-th).

if anyone has suggestions i'll take em, edit this post & then post a poll 🙏

hiraeth, my original story has been published for a few weeks now but i just wanted to address some things on here about the book before handing out the new & improved book.

SORAN RIBEIRO

soran ribeiro is very much based off of miles fairchild in terms of looks.

i was looking for face claims for soran's character a few weeks ago when i changed his oc to have darker hair & lighter skin and saw a pic of finn wolfhard's character.

soran was mainly based off of an old friend of mine. (who is no longer speaking to me.)

i changed him up a bit to look a bit more like my close friend from school (who is in fact adopted and has a biological younger sister.)

i realized that finn wolfhard's character is similar to soran so i just wanted to clear up that i hadn't known this and soran was supposed to have a sister in the beginning when he was based off of my old friend anyway.

after one of my other friends (who has an obsession with finn) told me about miles' personality i kind of got the sense that he could be both sassy and sweet like soran.

ZARA BAJWA

zara is based off of another close friend as well. (in terms of looks and a bit in terms of behavior.)

my friend does have a sister as well, a bit younger. (but not as big an age gap as the friend of mine who i based off of soran.)

i wanted soran and zara to have this sort of relationship because i'd very much seen the relationship between my two friends from school.

now, i'm not saying that this a fanfic i wrote off of people i know, HOLD YOUR HORSES.

i consider zara and soran as my kids tbh, i feel like the connection i've melded between them is something i created through my thoughts, not through the physiques of my friends.

no, my two friends don't have a really strong relationship like zara & soran do, but they're personalities would be amazing if my friend (who characterizes zara) didn't have a boyfriend.

SETTING

i had an idea for a book series that took place in san francisco because i had read so many books that took place in big cities such as new york, LA, & chicago and thought that places like san francisco needed attention too.

also because i've been to the cities of san francisco, denver & toronto a few times and their personally some of my favorite cities throughout north america.
