When making duā, observe these etiquettes:
– Begin with praise of Allah and salawat on the Prophet ﷺ
– Ask with conviction, not doubt
– Be specific and persistent
– Admit your need and sins
– End with salawat and āmeen
Duā isn’t just asking it’s worship.

Do not steal the happiness of anyone, and do not trouble the heart of anyone. Our lives are short, and in our graves we will be in need of those who pray for us and not against us.

Sometimes in life, we reach a point where we have two paths: one leading to Allah and the other to our desires.
If we leave our desire for Allah, He blesses us with something better. And when Allah blesses us with something, there is peace and fulfillment in it.
The thing about our desires is, once they are fulfilled, there is no real fulfillment in it. We desire things one after another, and the cycle is never ending.

Ali bn Abi Talib رضى الله عنه said,
"From the most beloved of speech to Allah is for the servant to say while he is in Sujud:
I have wronged myself, so forgive me."
رَبِّ إِنِّي ظَلَمْتُ نَفْسِي فَاغْفِرْ لِي
'Rabbi innee zalamtu nafsee faghfir lee'
"My Lord! Verily, I have wronged myself, so forgive me."
Du'a in Surah al-Qasas, 28:16

It is fine for a person to work for this world,
ولكن دون أن ينسى آخرته but without forgetting his Hereafter!
ولا بأس أن يجعل بيته جميلاً and it is fine to make his house beautiful,
ولكن دون أن ينسى قبره but without forgetting his grave!

Shaykh Ṣāliḥ al-'Uthaymin said: "When your sadness has prolonged, then upon you is al-şabr wa 'l-salāt (ie: patience and prayer as a means to remove your sadness)." [Tafsir al-Qur'an al-Karīm: al-Fātiḥah — wa 'l- Baqarah 1/165]
