 Corrosion Resistance Characteristics of Hastelloy Ball Valves

Globe Valves

A Globe valve is a linear motion valve and is primarily designed to stop, start and regulate flow. The disk of a Globe valve can be totally removed from the flow path or it can completely close the flow path. Globe valves are named for their spherical body shape with the two halves of the body being separated by an internal baffle. This has an opening that forms a seat onto which a movable plug can be screwed in to close or shut the valve. In globe valves, the plug is connected to a stem which is operated by screw action using a handwheel in manual valves. The globe valve must be installed in proper relation to the media flow as indicated by the flow direction arrow on the valve body.
 The principal variation in Globe-valve design is in the types of discs employed. Plug-type discs have a long, tapered configuration with a wide bearing surface. This type of seat provides maximum resistance to the erosive action of the fluid stream. In the composition disc, the disc has a flat face that is pressed against the seat opening like a cap. This type of seat arrangement is not as suitable for high differential pressure throttling.
 Maintenance of Globe valves is relatively easy, as the discs and seats are readily refurbished or replaced. This makes Globe valves particularly suitable for services that require frequent valve maintenance. Where valves are operated manually, the shorter disc travel offers advantages in saving operator time, especially if the valves are adjusted frequently.

 Normal sealing surface:Face (RF), Concave (FM), Convex (M), Tenon (T), Groove (G), Full plane (FF).
 Advantages: SO flange is also a flat welding flange. It has a short neck, thus improving the strength of the flange and improve the bearing strength of the flange.So it can be used in a higher pressure pipeline.
 Disadvantages: the cost of SO flange is higher than the PL type. And due to the characteristics of its shape, it is easier to knock against in transportation.

 Material Definition Of Duplex Check Valves
Duplex stainless steel is a steel that has half of the ferrite phase and half of the austenitic phase in its quenching structure, and generally, the minimum phase content must be up to 30%.
 Material Features Of Duplex Check Valves
Corrosion Resistance
Excellent general corrosion resistance; superior to Stainless steel in most environments. Excellent resistance to localized corrosion including intergranular, pitting, and crevice corrosion; the CPT of Duplex steel is generally at least 35ºC. The grade is also resistant to chloride stress corrosion cracking (SCC) at temperatures of up to about 150ºC. Duplex steel will often perform well in environments that cause premature failure of austenitic grades. It has better resistance to seawater than Stainless steel.
 Heat Resistance
Although Duplex steel has good high-temperature oxidation resistance, this grade - like other duplex stainless steels - suffers from embrittlement if held for even short times at temperatures above 300ºC. If embrittled, this can only be rectified by a full solution annealing treatment. Duplex stainless steels are almost never used above 300ºC.
 What is the Difference Between a Single Check Valve and a Duplex Check Valve?
A single check valve protects against the risk of backflow and back-siphonage contamination while a double check valve is typically two single check valves linked together. As the name of the two types of check valves suggested, a double check valve seems to function as two single check valves. In fact, a double check valve can provide safe backup if one of the single check valves fails for any reason. What is more, a double check valve even has screws on each side of a single check valve so that the valve port can be opened and cleaned, as debris can build up over time.
