Documentary Film Festival based in Jogjakarta, happened in December along with Jogjakarta-Netpac Asia Film Festival. This festival ask Studio Batu to make the core id this year, the theme is “Displacement”. We respond this theme with the cardboard, cardboard often used by immigrant to be blanket, or as their bag. Got the opportunity to work with Jogjakarta Netpac Asia Film Festival. This festival always collaborate with artist to make the core id festival, this year my turn to make the core id about Islandscape, I respond the theme fire monkey in chinese zodiac with a bathup as representation of islandscape. This year I work mostly with film scene for film festival and also film poster.

In this December I got the opportunity to make the illustration for Pesta Boneka. A bienalle International Puppet Festival that happened at Jogja. The theme is Home, here I make a parade with elephant, people, puppet, and another creature to celebrate home.

One Drawing One Day

Here I try to started a program to draw, One drawing one day my friend Hosea he named this activity after I tell him about this program (Klick the image to see all the images). My artwork for my solo exhibition that being held in 2012 titled "Unlock" a stop motion puppet animation. Being produced with Jerikan Motion, a animation studio based in Yogyakarta.

A Grumpy locksmith living with his neighbour a little boy who has an owl toy with four legs. One day the boy toy break, he has no choice. He remember he has a neighbour a locksmith so he comes to the locksmith house to help him fixing his toy. He's a locksmith, he never fix a toy before. It's become a problem for him. Can he fix his problem?

This artwork is my exploration in making character design for an on going project with my friend that will explore this character in live action form. The idea itself come from my own experinence feeling the desire as human being, sometimes I imagine desire like a primitive creature with mask and it's burning red.
