HE STARES AT  those bright eyes for a good few seconds.  oh,  he’s being a little shit  !  &  the guardian has no one to blame other than himself.  Vision is a fast learner  &  Peter isn’t quite the perfect example of a human being to follow to begin with.  it all starts to fall in place  &  he realizes that he needs to step up his game.  he’s not as easy a target as he used to be.

❛  ‘s fine,  nothing i can’t handle.  ❜  he wants to say  ‘  we  ‘,  but something stops him,  something utterly childish he keeps trying to contain.  his mind works quick  &  instead of dragging his friend,  he tries to find something cooler about his side of things.  what can go wrong anyway  ?  ❛  they’re scared of you.  there’s no other way to put it but my bounties,  man,  you wouldn’t believe the reasons behind some of ‘em.  there was one time i had a bounty on my head for being  TOO HANDSOME.  ❜  

he spares a lot of details on the nature of that bounty.  there’s a feeling in his chest,  which again he ignores.  he doesn’t want to think he’s drowning more in this mess the more he struggles.

        ░▒▓   ____   AS UNPLEASANT AS IT IS  to be seen through so easily, vision can’t help but take a little  AMUSEMENT  in peter’s moment of realisation. the  SYNTHEZOID  has been learning his many lessons well;  a little  TOO  well, peter would probably say were someone to ask him at this very moment. but he at least  hopes  that there is some  PRIDE  mixed in with whatever frustration the half-human feels with him. 

       &&  of course, peter has to go and - for lack of a better phrase - utterly  RUIN  any sincerity in the moment.

                      THERE  ISN’T  PRIDE  that  she’s  uncomfortable  around  synthetics   –   seems  like  everyone  is  when  presented  with  anything  approaching   the  F O R M I D A B L E  ‘  uncanny  valley  ’.  Suppose  there’s  reason  behind  it,  behind  the  lack  of  ease,  though  it  doesn’t  mean  there  isn’t  guilt  there  as  well.  She’s  had  her  time  of  PREJUDICE  (   one  of  her  closest  friends  could  recall  the  distrust  in  her  eyes  the  moment  he’d  tagged  along  with  the  team   ),  maybe  it  hasn’t  quite  D I S S I P A T E D  yet. 

                      ESPECIALLY  when  there’s  Earth  to  think  about.

                       ❛      I  HAVEN’T  HEARD  GOOD  REPORTS  from  down  there …   I  don’t  suppose  anything  has  changed …       ❜  Conversation   –   correction,  pointless  small  talk   –   will  distract  from  your  emotions,  won’t  they?  How  much  she’d  rather  be  down  there  in  the  grit  and  grime  of  it  all  was  O V E R W H E L M I N G.  All  hands  on  deck,  though.  They  needed  everyone  and  anyone;  all  sat  in  the  conference  room  of  the  Normandy,  aliens,  synthetics  and  humans  alike,  each  in  their  own  conversations  amongst  each  other  and  each  still  a  wonder  to  Shepard  that  she’d  even  accomplished  it  in  the  first  place.  How  long  would  the  P R O V E R B I A L  paper  over  the  cracks  of  their  conflicts  last?  Her  fingers  drag  over  the  datapad  that  housed  an  image  of  her  planet,  one  of  the  many  currently  falling  to  pieces  and  she  wondered  for  a  moment  if  she  could  have  faith  that  God  wouldn’t  FORSAKE  them  all  down  there  to  the  destruction  and  turmoil.  ❛      We  can’t  build  anything  quicker…  at  this  point  our  only  hope  lasts  in  being  able  to  hold  off  and  diminish  the  attacks  while  the  crew  and  I  are  looking  for  the  Catalyst.    ❜   Wow,  SO  OBVIOUS,  you  make  it  sound  so  easy  Shepard,  almost  as  if  everyone’s  life  isn’t  on  the  line  for  doing  so.

       WHICH  HE  USUALLY  is,  but  the  sour  mood  of  the  UNIVERSE  has  managed  to  soak  into  even  vision  himself.  

        ❝  THEN  your  reports  are  devastatingly  ACCURATE,  commander.  ❞   WEARINESS  hovers  over  their  conversation;;  an  unpleasant  &&  uninvited  guest  at  the  summit  populated  otherwise  exclusively  by  the  ELITE.  (  that  is  how  the  MEDIA  has  decided  to  dub  them.  whether  or  not  the  title  is  DESERVED,  he  thinks,  is  still  up  for  some  debate  )

       THE  DATAPAD  IN  HER  HAND  shows  an  image  of  earth  -  he  likes  to  imagine  he  would  have  known  that  even  without  looking.  the  IMPORTANCE  of  the  planet  to  shepard  is  something  that  the  vids  never  fail  to  mention;;  it  is,  to  an  extent,  one  of  the  reasons  that  vision  knew  the  commander  was  someone  who  deserved  his  unconditional  support  and  trust.  she  VALUES  the  lives  of  every  single  person  they  have  lost;;  feels  every  single  death  as  though  it  were  an  INJURY  inflicted  on  her  own  body.   

       ❝  if  i  may,  &&  if  it  comes  as  anything  other  than  REDUNDANT,  at  this  point,  i  should  like  to  remind  you  that  there  is  always  HOPE.  ❞  it  is  a  lesson  that  has  been  hammered  into  him  for  every  moment  of  his  short  life.  whether  or  not  it  rings  TRUE  is  still  to  be  seen  -  there  is  so  much  destruction,  SO  MUCH  DEATH  that  he  has  witnessed.

Without needing anymore prompting he pushes off on his board in a slow crawl that gradually gets faster.
