Had this as one of the possible beginnings of their relationship.

Not sure if I'll get around to it bc it's a bit too ambitious but I had a scene written up where Sephiroth faces against groups of the guild members as their sparring partner and basically owns them but when Aqua's in there, he faces her one on one and it's like a dance. and the rest of them are groaning

Later that day...

I got a reference book for chibies! Decided to try it out with lazy sketches and colouring for a wholesome comic.

Been meaning to do Seph interactions with the other characters for ages. I really liked the idea of Xion being one of the first few to actually be nice to him shortly after he joins the guild.

I liked the suggestion that Sephiroth signs his name off as simply "S" so I kept that. 😌

I've got so many guild moments written up that I wanna bring to life but we'll see depending on feedback if I actually do them...

Concept AU PJ Pug a Pillar - a.k.a pug bean son

I added PJ to the Aquaroth universe ages ago in my mind but never drew him.

The idea was that he follows Aqua through the portal after her accidental visit to the Poppy Playtime world (pulled in by some energy/force) and he takes a liking to her. He ends up in Traverse Town as a regular looking pug (who can still transform to his pug-a-pillar self when necessary) and they eventually reunite.

His origin story in Poppy Playtime is so depressing. When I was reading it, the part where he literally accepts his fate AFTER escaping and goes BACK to Playtime Co. completely broke my heart.

So, he joins my AU of characters who deserved better as Aqua and Sephiroth's lil' bean pug son.

He and Seph can relate to each other both being victims of experimentation and cruelty. And he loves his mama who saved him with all his lil pug bean heart.

The factory was unusually quiet after Aqua and Sephiroth disappeared through the portal. The toys stood in an odd, lingering silence, their monstrous forms subdued but restless. PJ Pug-a-Pillar sat on the cold factory floor, his usually wagging tail drooping. His big, round eyes stared at the spot where Aqua had vanished, a soft whimper escaping his stitched mouth. The warmth of her touch, the gentle scratch behind his floppy ears—it was gone, leaving an ache he couldn’t understand.

Kissy Missy, towering and still, noticed PJ’s sadness. With surprising tenderness, Kissy leaned down and gave PJ an encouraging nudge. For a moment, PJ hesitated, his body low to the ground as he contemplated what to do.

But then—a spark of determination lit up in his eyes.

Before the Prototype could unleash its furious commands, PJ Pug-a-Pillar bolted. His many legs scrambled across the metal floor with surprising speed, his vibrant, segmented body weaving through broken conveyor belts and rusted machinery. The Prototype's mechanical claws snapped in frustration, but PJ was already leaping.

With one powerful bound, PJ launched himself into the fading portal.

The world twisted and bent around PJ as he tumbled through the dimensional rift. Colours blurred, sounds warped, and his body felt like it was being pulled in every direction. But as the portal spat him out the other side, something strange happened.

PJ’s long, caterpillar-like body shrank, his segmented form merging into something more compact. When he finally hit the ground, he skidded to a stop on four stubby legs, his round body rolling slightly before coming to a rest.

He blinked, confused.

No longer a towering, playful monstrosity, PJ had transformed into a regular pug. Well… mostly. His fur retained the signature bright colours from his original form—a patchwork of purples and blues that shimmered under the streetlights. His eyes, still just as big and expressive, scanned his surroundings as he sniffed the cool air.

He had landed in an alley in Traverse Town. The dimly lit streets buzzed softly with the sounds of distant chatter and the flicker of neon signs. PJ’s nose twitched, catching familiar scents mixed with the foreign—oil, rain-soaked cobblestones, and something warm that reminded him of Aqua.

His tail curled excitedly.

Determined, PJ waddled out of the alley, his colourful little body attracting more than a few curious glances. He trotted down the cobblestone streets, sniffing every corner, every passerby, in hopes of finding a trail that would lead him back to Aqua.

That’s when he heard a familiar grumble.

“Damn van’s late again...” Cid muttered to himself, standing by the loading bay, a toothpick dangling from his mouth as he scribbled something on a clipboard. His spiky blond hair was ruffled from the humidity, and his grease-stained jacket bore the marks of another long day fixing airships.

PJ's big, round eyes locked onto Cid.

To PJ, everyone who looked remotely human could potentially lead him to Aqua. And Cid, with his gruff exterior and no-nonsense attitude, seemed like someone important enough to know where she was.

With a determined bark—high-pitched and oddly cute—PJ sprinted towards him.

Cid barely had time to react before a colourful blur collided with his boots.

“What the—?” Cid looked down, his eyes widening as he saw the brightly coloured pug pawing at his leg, barking excitedly and wagging its tail like it had just found its long-lost owner.

“What in the heckin' kinda dog are you?” he muttered, crouching down to get a better look. PJ licked his hand eagerly, his tail a wagging blur. Cid noticed the odd, patchy fur and the almost-too-human eyes.

“You ain’t from ‘round here, are ya?” Cid scratched his head, chuckling despite himself. PJ barked again, tugging on Cid’s pant leg and then looking down the street, as if trying to tell him something important.

Cid sighed, straightening up. “Alright, alright, I get it. You’re lookin’ for someone. "

PJ barked again, spinning in a circle excitedly.

Cid shook his head, a smirk tugging at the corner of his mouth. “Well, hell, ain’t you somethin’. C’mon, colourful. Let’s go find your person."

With PJ trotting determinedly by his side, Cid made his way through the winding streets of Traverse Town. The little pug’s energy was contagious, and despite his initial reluctance, Cid found himself oddly invested in helping the peculiar pup.

As they passed by the market square, PJ’s nose twitched again. His tail shot up as he caught another familiar scent—one that sent him sprinting ahead, leaving Cid scrambling to keep up.

“Hey! Slow down, ya little fuzzball!” Cid shouted, but PJ was already weaving through the crowd.

Aqua was just stepping out of a small café in Traverse Town when she heard the commotion.

She turned just in time to see a colourful blur barreling towards her.

Before she could react, PJ leapt into her arms, barking excitedly and licking her face with fervent affection. Aqua gasped, recognising the familiar colours, the joyful energy.

“PJ…?” she whispered in disbelief, cradling the pug close to her chest.

Sephiroth appeared moments later, his green eyes narrowing as he spotted the unfamiliar creature in Aqua’s arms. His protective instincts flared, but when he saw Aqua’s radiant smile, his tension eased—if only slightly.

“He followed me…” Aqua murmured, her heart swelling as PJ nuzzled into her. She looked up at Sephiroth, her eyes soft. “I think… he just wanted to be with us.”

Sephiroth’s lips curled into a faint, amused smirk. “A persistent one, isn’t he?” His hand gently rested on Aqua’s back, his possessiveness tempered by the harmless, wiggling pug in her arms.

Cid finally caught up, panting slightly. “You owe me, Aqua. This little guy nearly gave me a heart attack.”

Aqua laughed softly, her fingers running through PJ’s fur. “Thank you, Cid.” She looked down at PJ, her voice warm. “Welcome home, PJ.”

And as they walked back to the cottage, PJ nestled comfortably in Aqua’s arms, his journey complete. Even in a new world, he had found his place—right beside the person who had shown him kindness.
