Xerxes: I don't understand why Capitol life wouldn't be alien to me, but it's erm, interesting to say the least.

Day Four Training

Treasure Hunt

We guessed three and then gave up I fell asleep because lol staying up when I'm ill

Made a boss ass sandwich.

I decided not to bother with the treasure hunt. I wasn't in the spirit and it seemed like too my effort for a little reward. Few of the stations were available because they were being used, but the cooking station was good. I sat down and decided to make a sandwich.

I took two slices of my favourite bread.

I then made a fire to toast my bread.

I then broadly spread mayonnaise on one slice of the toasted bread.

I then proceeded to place three thin tomato slices, slightly overlapping, on the slice on which I spread the mayonnaise.

Next I placed a lot of large romaine lettuce leaves over the tomato slices.

The ham came next.

Then my favourite cheese was after (robiola piemonte if you were curious).

I then spread mayonnaise onto the second slice of bread and placed it on top so my sandwich was complete. I ate it, satisfied with what I had learned and moved onto another station.

Day Three Training

With more weapons training underneath my belt I head towards a weapon I generally enjoyed using but just not too much. Most Careers in District Two took a fancy to knives, and I could understand why. They were small, easy to conceal, easy to learn and master. They could also be used at close and ranged combat. In many respects they were the ideal weapon. I however used them for many different reasons.

I remember when I first moved in with my grandfather, the first thing I noticed was just how many knives he had. I soon learned that they weren't knives but just scalpels. But anyway it didn't really matter. I picked up the belt of knives and started to throw them aimlessly. All of them of course stuck but I wasn't really trying to show off, merely throwing them for the purpose of just doing something. The cool metal handle reminded me of my work, of my art and I just missed it so much.

I spent a lot longer at the knives station, perfecting my throw and reliving the memories of my grandfather and I, the excitement we would feel when we got given a new task and how we worked on it for hours on end. I missed that. But soon, it was lunchtime and I was hungry so I left.

It didn't take long for me to decide that I'd met enough people here. In retrospect I thought I'd been friendly to enough people, but with Liucija walking around and bad mouthing me at every opportunity that she had, I really didn't see the point in it all anyway. So, at the beginning of the third day of training I decided it would be best to stay away from other people and focus entirely on myself. Because after all, it was only going to be me that could help my own Victory.

Archery was never something I particularly enjoyed nor was it something I was good at, I didn't have the patience to sit around and string arrows and shoot them at targets, it seemed pointless to me but like any Career, I had to at least be proficient in it.

I picked up a bow and stringed an arrow and faced the target. I was always told to be relaxed and patient when shooting an arrow, but to be honest, when someone was coming at you wielding a sword, I doubt you would have the good sense to just relax. However when I was in the comfort and the relative safety of the Training Centre I had all the time in the world.

For about fifty minutes I stood there, shooting arrow after arrow, sometimes going back to the moving targets but, mainly staying on the stationary ones. But soon, my muscles started to ache and I got bored so I moved onto another station.

Day Two Training

I was stalked by Cecilia again and we climbed a wall and talked, it was pleasant. There was also a bit of flirting, but you can't exactly blame me can you? I was weak and fell asleep though.

Under The Waves | Zemira Kleed | Pool

I met and spoke to Zemira again which was nice, she doesn't trust me which I get but I really wish she would. I hope we get to talk again though, I kind of like her company.

Fixer Upper | Kathleen Arel | First-Aid

Spoke to the girl from Five at the first-aid station and she's a little too paranoid for her own good. But pretty, so it doesn't really matter.

"Nah, I'm good." I looked down at her again with a smug look on my face before climbing the wall as quickly as I could, and she surely fell back pretty quickly. But I had to hand it to her, she was a good climber. Like the gentlemen that I was, I waited for her to get to the top before shaking her hand.

"Good climb Cecilia." I said with a smile before letting the trainers pull it to the bottom. As soon as my feet touched the ground, I unstrapped my harness and wiped the chalk off of my hands. "A pleasure as always Cecilia but I must bid you adieu. Although, I have no doubt you'll come and find me tomorrow." I said with a wink before turning and walking away from the girl hoping to see her again more than I'd like to admit.

Xerxes snorted a little when the 's' word slipped out of her mouth, he could tell just by the look on her face that she just didn't swear. He nodded in encouragement as she continued to tread water and eventually after a while got the hang of it.

"You've definitely got it" he said with a smile. He watched her tread water for a little longer to make sure she got the hang of it. "I'm going to head out, but it was lovely to see you again Zemira. Hopefully we can talk again." he said hopefully and left the pool, being even more fond of the girl.

Under The Waves | Zemira + Xerxes | Swimming Pool (With Diving Boards)

She smiles after her small moment of laughter, forcing herself to concentrate properly. Her smile was gone, replaced by concentration and obedience. A face blanks her true moment of fear when she was in the deeper area of the water, trying not to just scream and panic.  "Kick? Like I’m trying to swim up?" Hand gripping onto him tightly with unexpected sudden force, she pushes herself, letting her feet touch nothing. "Trust you? Yeah, it does all sound like shit." She grips at his hand, the dirty word slipping out of her mouth by accident. The first instinct was to panic when the feeling of nothing tingled her nerves at the bottom of her feet, however his words reminded her. So then she trusts him. The next thing was to kick. So she does. She does it again and again until she managed to get the right idea. At this, her hand loosens against him, but it was still holding onto him in any case that could happen. She bites her lip, looking down to try and understand how she’s kicking.  For the first time, she actually enjoys this person’s company, a male no less. The thought slips in her mind, making her suddenly more conscious of what she’s doing and where he is as her concentration wavers for a moment, but without relying on first instinct, which is to scream and try to get out, she continues to kick. “Treading. Right. I-I think I got it?” She comments questionably, looking at him this time again. Don’t lose concentration. He’s going to kill you in a few days. Separate emotions from reality. Separate.
