Chilla's Art | Shikansen 0 Review | ($7)
Game Review Time! If you don't know me my name is xGuinkura and I love any type of horror game especially when it comes to indie horror games; With that being said, I think I'll start a series reviewing games I play/stream on twitch going over 3 main factors: Graphics, Story, and Difficulty.
Graphics: 9/10
Alright so the first factor I'd like to go over is graphics; now, this can apply to any game in the Chilla's Art horror franchise but I actually really enjoy the graphics of the game even though they don't focus on being super realistic. I think one of the main key features in a Chilla's Art game is the VHS like style the game is designed in. The graphics of the games have greatly improved without losing that unique touch which I think is a big win when it comes to any game the company has produced as of late. When it comes to Shikansen 0, the graphics definitely mimic the unqiue VHS like style, however, there are some parts of the game that are underdeveloped in my opinion. This is not too much of a negative thing because the game only took about an hour and I don't believe needs too much detail in its graphics. With that being said, for a Chilla's Art game, the graphics are spot on yet simple.
Story: 4/10
The main premise of the game, and I won't spoil too much, is that you are stuck in a loop on a bullet train and must decipher what is an illusion/trick and what is not in order to move forward to the 'exit.' The premise is simple but fun; however, the game is not as scary as the other Chilla's Art games and does not have too much of a horror feel to it. In shorter wording, the game is enjoyable and can give a scare here and there, but comes off more as a game of memory. In conclusion, I do not regret buying and playing the game as it is a fun and quick run-through but in the long run it does not have as much of an impact as other horror games or other Chilla's Art horror games.
Difficulty: 3/10
This part definitely depends on each person who plays it because it heavily relies on memory but overall the game is pretty straightforward and easy. It took me a relatively short time to understand the directions (I didn't think they were that clear) which is why I give the game a 3. If you are getting into horror games this game is definitely a good first step :)
Let me know any games you guys think I should try and I'll see you for my next review!
