Believe it or not but Xingjie was never my bias to begin with, in fact he wasn’t even in my Top 9 xD (slaps past self). Back when I did the IP bias sorter I had him at freakin’ 10th!! Ruibin was my original bias but then Dance to the Music and vocalist Xingjie happened and here we are now.

hi! i know its really late (because didnt it happen like a year ago/?) but i was looking at the rap of china contestant list on wikipedia, and i didnt see xingjie (or even xiao gui) , although people were saying he participated? could you explain that for me? thank you!

No problem, happy to answer 🙂The show actually started with 70 contestants that slowly got eliminated throughout the show. Both Xiao Gui and Xingjie passed the initial audition round. Then it goes into round two, a 60 sec rap challenge which Xingjie managed to pass, but Xiao Gui unfortunately didn’t (though he did become a fan favorite). 

Xingjie was eliminated during the following ‘freestyle’ round (which is why to this day he still says he’s not good at freestyle lol.) Though to be fair he only started rapping about a year before going on Rap of China. Wikipedia seems to be only listing the top 18.
