gretawright‌:
Greta was walking down 5th avenue, baby stroller in front of her as her eyes wandered through the expensive stores she adored. “Look at that one, baby. You should ask daddy to give it to mama on her next birthday. Maybe mama can get you speaking that till then, huh?” She says playfully, looking at the beautiful baby boy giving her a goofy few teeth smile. Distracted, Greta didn’t see the runner coming right on their direction–whom apparently didn’t see them either. “Uh, excuse you.”
Tumblr media
Out for his usual run, Leo had been taken so off-guard by a seemingly never-ending stream of children on some sort of camp trip, that when he lost his footing trying to move his way around them, he nearly collided with a window and with the poor people standing in front of it. “Ah...I’m real, sorry, ma’am,” he chimed in, regaining his stance firmly on the ground and casting an apologetic look in Greta’s direction. “Is the little one okay?”

thereal-antonia‌:
For the fourth time in twenty minutes, Antonia held back a sigh. She had ended up at the table at the event by chance, and had to wonder if whoever had coordinated the seating chart was just that oblivious or had personally set out to make her evening a living hell. “I wasn’t listening.” Antonia said plainly when someone tried to draw her into the conversation.
Tumblr media
“She wasn’t listening,” Leo repeated, leaning back in his own chair and flashing a sardonic grin. Biting it back, he shoved a forkful of his dinner into his mouth, eager to see how the scene was going to play out. In truth, he had not really been enjoying himself all evening, and while Antonia was, at the very least, being drawn into the conversation, he was largely being kept out of it by design. That said, Leo likely had very little to contribute to it; he was not exactly known for his sparkling intellect. He took another bite. “Say, how do you jelly a truffle anyway?” And with that brilliant question, he seemed to have succeeded in shutting the table up, seemingly to his delight.

finleysin‌:
networking wasn’t finley’s forte. he was perfectly aware of its importance and he could pull himself together to get the best results; it wasn’t a favorite past-time of his for sure. for the most part it was downright draining, but fortunately he had mastered the art of grinning and bearing it. having been invited to another exclusive event overflowing with the city’s upper crust, once again he needed to get through this ordeal for the sake of keeping his as well as his business’ position. not feeling like striking any conversations yet, he found the bar and got himself a glass of bourbon to loosen himself up by a tiny bit. leaning against the counter, with the corner of his eye of spotted another silhouette approaching. his brow arched lightly when he reached for the metal cigarette case nesting in the inner pocket of his tuxedo jacket. “sorry, do you maybe know what’s the smoking policy here?”
Tumblr media
Flicking his eyes upward, Leo offered a small, lopsided smirk, swirling his glass of wine around in his hand. Perhaps he had already been drinking too much that evening; it showed itself in the ruddiness in his cheeks and pep in his voice. Not drunk. Just buzzed. Evidently in high spirits, though, he laughed a bit at the question, nostrils flaring. “I mean, it’s probably real against the fire code, hoss,” he offered with a small shrug of his shoulders, his voice ringing with the usual earthy bluntness, one that perhaps belied just how much dough he’d dropped on his suit. “But there’s a one-hundred-percent chance someone’s snorting the white stuff in the bathroom, so I say go for it. No one’s going to stop you.” With that, though, Leo paused to glance around the room, as if on the lookout for the fuzz. He gave a hum. “Maybe go out to the balcony or something, though. Just in case. Maybe I will too. S’nasty habit, but I’m too cool for those damn vape pens.”

pietamercado‌:
“Huh.” Pieta grinned, nodding her head a little at the words, glancing over at the couple before looking back at the man beside her. “You might just be right about it being money…” She amused, reaching to take a sip of her drink. She relaxed back against the bar a little, eyes drifting back to the arguing couple who were now heading towards the door. Clearly their night had been ruined.
She hummed a little at his next words, brows furrowing a little as she turned to look at him properly. “Social media doesn’t help, sure. But couples have been arguing in public for decades, it’s not exactly a new development,” Pieta told him with a bit of a laugh. “Besides,” she continued with a shrug. “It’s entertaining at least. Right?”
She stuck her hand out to shake then, smiling widely at the man. “I’m Pieta. You are?” she introduced herself, straightening up in her chair a little.
Tumblr media
“Oh, I’d put a wager on it.” Leo smirked broadly at that, face the portrait of mischief. He cocked his head sideways, hiding the smile once again in his bottle. And with a long sigh, he finished the last of its contents before setting it down with a hollow clank. “I feel bad for ‘em,” he added briefly. “Poor kids.” He huffed, but that was a thing he did, referred to people as kids however old they actually were. He rolled his shoulders.
“Eh, not where I come from. No fightin’ allowed. Real bootstraps folks, us. You just keep everything inside forever, and then you explode.” He grinned, flashing his teeth. “But yeah, I guess we’ve been delightin’ in other people’s misfortunes since forever, huh? Back in like, the 60s, my ma used to watch this show where they made these women go on TV and cry about their sad lives, and whoever was the saddest shit got a crown and a prize and shit. Ain’t that just a mess?” He laughed.
Taking her hand, he gave it a short shake. “Leo. Not wearing my lion medallion today, but there’s usually a punchline that goes with it.”

diamantiine‌:
With every script Elias wrote, there were always times when he suddenly found himself at a standstill, when every word he thought of writing seemed uninspired and wrong. By now, he’d learned there was no point in simply trying to push through it — instead, he closed Final Draft and forced himself to put the screenplay out of his mind, instead going outside. It was while he was on a leisurely stroll through Central Park that he noticed a small object on the ground. “Excuse me,” he asked the person who had just walked past him. “Is that yours?”
Tumblr media
“Huh?” Leo paused and looked up when he heard someone speak, lingering in place a bit and narrowing his eyes as if searching for his focus. He did not find it, evidently in something of a daze for the moment. Squinting in the sun, however, he steadied himself on his feet and sniffed the air, firming up his stance. Despite the heat that day, the man was dressed rather sorely in evening wear, a tie hanging loosely around his neck and a jacket dangling from his hand, caught in the walk home from a party that began the night before. “Ah, shit, yes! Thanks a lot, man. Lucky charm. Be real screwed without it,” he said, taking the small plastic bear, a cheap arcade prize, into his hand before tucking it away in a pocket.

pietamercado‌:
The day had been spent surrounded by her family and Pieta had enjoyed it thoroughly. Her daughter had begged for a sleepover with her cousins and it was with a bit of a surprise that Pieta found herself childless for the night. She’d been laying low lately and had been spending most of her time with her daughter or around her family; an attempt at keeping out of trouble as her father liked to put it. He liked to ignore the fact she was actually a grown adult.
Still, Pieta intended to enjoy her evening, which was how she found herself at the decadent little bar that she couldn’t remember the name of. She was still on her first drink, though close to finishing when she noticed a couple not far from her, arguing. The scene amused her, letting out a chuckle when she heard the woman’s voice get louder and louder.
“What do you think they’re fighting about?” Pieta mused to the person sitting beside her as she leant against the bar. “My money’s on him flirting with a bartender,” Pieta continued, eyes alive with amusement and mischievous as she looked at the other person before back at the arguing couple.
Tumblr media
Leo had developed his taste in alcohol at the ripe old age of sixteen, and to that end, he could sit in the swankiest place drinking like he was in a chain restaurant. With a low sigh, nevertheless, he leaned backward and placed his bottle on the counter-top, sniffing the air and giving a low hum. He cleared his throat, cocking his head at his neighbor.
“Nah, money. S’always money.” He nodded with an affirmative glint, as if deciding that were the absolute answer. And taking another long gulp of his drink, the man gave a lopsided smirk, shifting a bit to get better look. He seemed to be relishing in the opportunity to spy. “That’s the problem these days. Everyone wants to air their dirty laundry in public. I blame the Facebooks and the Twitters.”

diamantiine‌:
“I’m well, how are you?” Rosalind replied pleasantly, smiling at his comment about his dog. “Ah, like this one, then.” She petted the head of the larger of her two pets. “I’ve always been fond of the bully breeds.” She had always loved dogs, period, of course, but tended to favor the larger breeds over the yappy little things favored in her neighborhood.
Tumblr media
"Up, breathin’ and walkin’ around, so I guess that makes me peachy keen.” As if to punctuate his point, Leo rolled his shoulders and inhaled deeply, perhaps seeking a bit of summer air, but he mostly got a nose full of boiling city heat. He sighed at that, giving a small shake of his head. “Yeah? Me too. I think they got a bad rap,” he replied with a smile. “I mostly got those little fluffy teethy things in my building, but hey.” He laughed shortly.

siklysweet‌:
tomorrow morning,  when word inevitably reaches them,  the publicity team will hold a collective facepalm in her honour.  because tonight,  elena’s dabbling in drama the general public best not know about.  “ listen,  sweetie. “  her red curls bounce to old hollywood’s staple and red lips curl up into a something twisted.  “ he certainly never mentioned your name the other night.  sounds like a YOU problem,  not a billie one.  “    alas,  it’s a friday night as straight-edge as a ruler.  no fists thrown,  no drinks spilled;   the sobbing girl clutching her mouth cannot stop the wailing,  but she can walk away without a fight.   damn.   billie’s eyes make contact to the guest on her side.  a second later,  as though they’re best friends,  comes the eye-roll,  lips connecting to her straw before a muttered,  “  gosh the nerve of some people,  am i right?  “  referring to the woman,  obviously.  the guy?  well,  he treat her right.
Tumblr media
“Hmm? Yeah, man, bad shit.” In truth, Leo sounded as if he were neither agreeing nor disagreeing, simply offering the comment because it had been solicited. He pursed his lips at it, though, giving a small shake of his head. And while not outwardly admonishing anyone, he was also not offering himself as an ally. “I hope she’s gonna be all right, though. Maybe I ought to call the girl a cab, huh? She ain’t really in a place to be gettin’ out of here on her own. Lots of weirdos out there.” Taking a swig of his own drink, he stood up, setting it down finished, and looked about the room. However, by then, the weepy stranger had already disappeared into the crowd. “She a friend of yours, or…?” He knew the answer to that question already, he thought and perhaps he had asked it only to antagonize. But he did it with his own usual non-confrontational earnestness. “Just wondering if there was someone who might know her here. Would feel bad if I, like, saw her on the news tomorrow or some shit, you feel me?”

diamantiine‌:
Taking her morning run, dogs in tow, was one of Rosalind’s favorite parts of the day — it gave her the peace and quiet to think. Too wrapped up in her thoughts, she didn’t realize there was someone else nearby until one dog slowed and the other stopped, tugging on their leashes. Righting herself, she looked up and gave the other person a polite smile. “Good morning.”
Tumblr media
"Oh, uh, mornin. How are ya?” Somewhat startled out of his own thoughts, Leo offered a polite nod nevertheless, wrapping his own dog’s leash around his wrist as if to hold the animal back. Despite this show of control, however, the canine itself, a big bully-looking thing, sat dumbly on its hind legs, cocking its head curiously to one side, the portrait of an overgrown puppy. “She’s friendly. Don’t let her size fool you. She just eats too much.”

Hello, all, I’m Dan, and I’ll be playing Leo. I look forward to meeting and writing with you! Please feel to reach out any time with plot ideas, connections, etc.!
Tumblr media
( Jon Bernthal, Male, He/Him. ) ♛ Isn’t that Leo Lombardi? The 40 year old professional poker player is unmistakable. He has a reputation for being outgoing and jovial, but also impetuous and immature. There’s a reason they call him the High Roller of the jet set, after all. — Dan, He/Him, Age (25), EST.
The middle child of three boys, Leo was born and raised in New Jersey, where his family owned and operated several prize stands and an arcade on a shore town boardwalk. As a child, he first learned to play cards on his family’s electronic machines.
For much of his life, Leo led a relatively typical small-town existence, working the summers and getting into trouble with his parents and teachers for his somewhat reckless behavior. He was the kind of person to do dangerous stunts on a dare and was even arrested once as a teenager for dealing marijuana.
Upon finishing high school (just barely, not for lack of intelligence, but lack of drive), Leo settled and continued working the family business. As a young man, he even seemed poised to eventually take it over, the only one of his siblings not to spread his wings elsewhere.
A few years later, largely on a whim, the young man began playing online video poker.
Rather naturally good at it, Leo carved out a niche for himself there in his free time, racking up wins until he eventually switched over to live tables. Still, this transition was a somewhat rocky one, and Leo’s severe lack of a poker face required genuine work.
Traveling in the winter ‘off-season’ to start, when the arcade dried up, Leo eventually began racking up tournament championships.
He won the first televised championship in which he competed in his mid-30s, and with that, came several more notable wins, each carrying notable pots.
With real success now under his belt, Leo ultimately then shifted his career somewhat from tournament play and began earning fame in high stakes cash games. He has a net worth of several million.
