Storage was limited so designers would still use photo collage techniques. different media types such as typography never appeared in same frame. static letters started to appear on top of moving media. designers capacity to manipulate work was very restricted. The Cars “You Might Think” music video was the first impact of computer graphics. Video collages became more complex since they now had the ability to have multiple layers. Digital composing allowed designers to easily manipulate visual elements. After Effects allowed designers to think of images in a new way. They could animate and see their work in real time.
It’s amazing to see how far we’ve come in the industry. These basic techniques are still used today, but in more complex ways thanks to programs like After Effects. Instead of having static text on top of an image, we can animate it to appear by rotating in or a number of other effects. After Effects is a very complex program since it allows us to do so much that I may not even know of. I’m going to think of it as simple as I can and add effects to create something that will appear more complex than it is.

Audio
while creating this, i was envisioning my day.
in the beginning it starts very slow and then speeds up with the claps and then transitions to soothing synth sounds that is interrupted by a beeping sound. i wanted this to feel like being in a dream and then suddenly being woken up by an alarm clock.
a piano track plays, which signals the start of my day. there is also a deep bass playing along. this is supposed to mimic footsteps.
the piano tracks and guitar tracks change the mood which usually happens as i go on in my day. i am optimist and full of energy but by the end I'm pooped. thus why it ends on such a mellow sad note. it began pretty upbeat and ends very slow.
this audio also describes how i felt while making this project. hopefully and optimist but by the end i no longer have energy and slowly give up. sad.

Solid Vibration
Olivier van Herpt
2015
Usually an object or multiple objects are used to make sound art. Song and soundtracks are usually intentional and know what sound they want to make whereas in sound art they don't know what sound they’re going to make until they do it. Once they have an object and like that sound it makes it, they can now make sound art. It is the raw unedited sound that makes a difference between sound art and songs.
I think it’s interesting how physical art was made through this process. Now you can visually see the sound art. The pottery shows the physical form of the sound waves it made. They made art through sound art. Working on a pottery wheel makes sounds in itself but what makes this piece different is the intention of the pottery. They use it and the waves that sound makes to make sound art and they end up with a work of art.
