“Molly?” James asked as he chased after her from the potions classroom after he obtained permission from Slughorn to chase the embarassed redhead. “C’mon, let’s go get you cleaned up.” He said as he gently grabbed her arm to steer her towards what he knew would be an empty bathroom so he could do the spell that would clean her. 

“Don’t you trust me?” 

“James?” she managed to croak out, she really didn’t want to let anyone see her in this sorry mess state but she didn’t mind it as much knowing it was him, the annoying brat that he was. She nodded her head “Yeah, I do” wiping away tears that were slipping down her face, as she allowed him to lead her to the nearest bathroom.

“You don’t think anyone will say anything, do you?” insecurity dripping through her voice and she pulled herself closer to herself, making her seem smaller than she was.  She turned her face to James, searching his face for the answer.

“OH, DON’T WORRY about it. I think this would be enough to make anyone snap. It happens.” Grey offered a kind smile, showing that she didn’t mind the snapping at all. She was sure being covered in purple in goo, even she would start snapping at people. 

Her smile grew wider when she turned back to her and she saw the smile on her face. She didn’t know exactly what to do that would make her feel better, so she settled with just a friendly smile. “Oh, it wouldn’t be any hassle at all. I really wouldn’t mind.” She shook her head. “I’m Grey.”

“Really! Thanks for being such a sweetheart” Molly replied as she started to calm down. To be honest with herself she felt like such an idiot for acting like a crazy person. Molly began walking again, leading the other girl to the toilets with her, trying to not make such a mess every time that she walked “You know, I just looked away for one second, one blasted second. My brothers would be having a right laugh if they could see me now”

“So, Grey, I haven’t really seen you before. I can see that you’re a hufflepuff” Molly spoke hesitantly, trying to make conversation, to distract herself “So what is it that you do? Play Quidditch or something?”

Molly was waiting, impatiently, in the kitchens sipping her tea with a scowl on her face. He was late and when he walked through that door, she was going to kill him … well not kill but she would give him a piece of her mind. Ever since their little duel, the two had no choice other than get along as their duel had now binned them together in the strangest way. Maybe it was Merlin, giving them a kick in the backside for arguing over the most pointless things, she didn’t know and she certainly didn’t understand.

Hearing the door open to reveal Arthur “There you are dear, I was thinking you weren’t going to come … to talk about you know, our problem”  Then letting out a huff “You should learn to be punctual, it’s not gentlemanly to keep a lady waiting”. 

Molly blushed a little embarrassed “So how has your sleep been? …. Cause mine has surely been strange”

Molly was at the point of pulling her hair out when it came to this essay. Transfiguration, she hated it. Why did she even continue the class?. She even went to the pain staking measures of hiding herself away in the library to keep her focus but even that was beginning to fail.

“Ah, Lilly. Thank Merlin love” Molly said with a look of admiration on her face. Lilly was one of the smartest people that she knew and right not Molly was counting her blessings “I would be really grateful if you would and I’ll bake your cookies for the rest of the year”

Molly handed her paper over “It’s on Transfiguration … and you know how I detest Transfiguration” Molly nodded her head in agreement “I share your sentiments love I really do, so outside of schoolwork how have you been?”

it was way past her bedtime. still, with a potions, charms, & defense against the dark arts assignment all due within the next few days, lily couldn’t turn herself in.

the library was almost empty, besides a few professors & a couple students who were no doubt in the same scathing situation. curfew was in under an hour, & she was getting absolutely nowhere. in a way, she was glad she wasn’t alone. across the room, she noticed a peer in a similarly tired situation. ‘ i could take a look at it ? your paper ? ’ the gryffindor offered, extending a sympathetic glance. collecting her papers, she slid from her seat to sit across from the other’s. ‘ … sometimes it helps to get a fresh pair of eyes, and honestly ? i think if i work on mine any longer, i may just go completely insane. ’

“Sorry I’m late love” she said as she entered the kitchens, quickly tying her hair up into a bun “I swear you wouldn’t believe the amount of people who won’t just move out the way for you”

As Molly opened her arms to receiver her friend, her face turned to horror when she fell before her eyes. Letting out a small gasp she rushed over to her friend, helping her to sit up a concerned look on her face “Oh Merlin, are you okay dear?” looking around the kitchens she clicked her mouth in disappointment “what happened here? Take this as a lesson to always keep a tidy kitchen, dear” looking back over her friend looking for any sort of injury “Are you hurt?”. She then noticed something in her friends, she grabbed her friends checks to turn her head into her direction so she could look more closely “Your eyes are puffy love. Have you been crying” her voice laced with worry.

      Marlene was in the kitchens, have been for a while now- she was supposed to be meet with her friend to make some cookies in about half an hour, but she’s been there forever. Just thinking and maybe scaring the elves with the look she had upon her face.She was seating on the top of a courtner as she sighed deeply ; some ingredients for the cookies were on the table, but she dropped some of the eggs on the floor and kind of cried over them - not completely cried.

     As soon as she heard the door open, her hand flew up and was glad to see Molly. “ Molls!” she quickly greeted and stood up, wanting to go and hug her friend - though, she did forget about the mess she created on the ground and ended up falling onto it with fashion and a groan.

Molly looked a little taken aback by her new neighbour on the bench before giving a polite smile “Ah, well it is to be an exciting season for sure especially when it comes to house rivalries but it’s such a dangerous game, they could do with some more safety measures” Molly tilted her head in thought *School’s been good so far but some classes are more of a pain than others … and I would have to go with pudding, though I do like treacle fudge from time to time “

A warm smile took her features “Molly Prewett, and you dear?”

Rani was bored and wanted to have some fun.  So, the girl decided to pick herself up and sit herself by some random person in the courtyard, “Tell me, are you excited for quidditch to start?  Do you enjoy school?  Oh and tell me, treacle fudge or pudding?” She hummed, figuring questions about food and sports were always welcomed.

vanessa couldn’t help but smile. molly had such a positive energy about it, it was infectious. “he is rather handsome,” she admitted. she listened to the gryffindor’s statement about gents, and she laughed. some of the other girls in hufflepuff had mentioned now and again about boys they’d dated and the not-so-happy outcomes. 

then, when the compliment came was when she flushed brightly. normally when she received compliments, it was about her quidditch play or her transfiguration grades. most people didn’t say anything to her about her looks, and it flattered her to hear someone as pretty as molly tell her that.

“th-that’s so sweet of you to say. thank you!” she scrambled to thank her with a smile. “i-i’d like that. i’m vanessa, by the way. vanessa bell. i don’t think i quite caught your name.”

Molly looked at the girl, who was blushing and she seemed quite shy in her presence “Vanessa bell, cool name!” she said with a smile “My names Molly, Molly Prewett and I promise I don’t bite” Why did the last part of that sentence sound unconvincing in her eyes, well never mind that. S

Molly turned her attention back onto the article as she began to read a little of it, blushing a little “Blimey… you have to do all that!” shaking her head a little, an almost menacing smirk appeared on her face as she leaned towards her no friend “So who’s the bloke your trying to impress love, is it someone I know?” her voice became an exaggerated whisper near the end.
