Angelhood - What is one of your favorite memories?

“ probably when my mom and I went up the coast on a road trip when I was really really young. It was before she’d passed away and my dad had work. Pretty sure he was seeing his other family at the time. But it was nice to be able to just have this time together. We saw so much of California and it was so beautiful. I even got to stay at the Madonna Inn. If you haven’t heard about it, it has a restaurant where it looks like the color pink threw up on everything “

“ Yeah you know those sections in the big craft stores where it’s maybe one end cap. The forgotten one? Or like when you got to the bakery and you have to buy the sad cupcake because you don’t think anyone will buy it?” Ruby explains as though her logic made the most sense. She may have seemed like a vain influencer but the girl loved her underdogs.

“ on its awful unless your a granny visiting Reno otherwise it’s an acceptable part of the uniform. “ she joked glancing back their way with a small smile on her face.

“ In everyone has an artistic streak we just might not know what yours is yet”

Robbie stops to stare at The Craft House, something that he knows hasn't recently popped up. Or maybe it did and he just assumed it's always been there, like a Michael's or a Joann Fabric's.

"Most likely to go extinct is so specific, and I'm not sure where to even start with figuring out what it is." Is it making baskets, as Ruby suggests? Robbie doesn't think he can 'weave'. "Bedazzling should be going extinct. Is it? It's a crime."

More of one than glitter which no one can seem to ever fully get rid of once it's make residence in your home.

"Sure. Let's give it a go. I'm not artsy, so it'll all look like trash, no matter what medium I use."

“ I’m more of a fashion archivist than someone who contrasts so I’d say you and I are about close in this race” Ruby teased a bit as she glanced back over to the other woman. “ oh yeah like papermaking and basket weaving “ @coradeveraux

"I'm sure it is. The only art this girl is good at is the art of writing," Cora insists. She's not above trying new things, though, which is the only reason she even considers Ruby's offer. "Is there such a thing as a niche craft? I feel like that wouldn't sell very well." @xrubyredx

“ well this is why im asking about the rules of the game because im very clearly wanting to use my arms and hands to help me out before i break this poor guy “ ruby replies as she gestures to her nose. “ oh please you’re gonna get me with my competitive streak going, cause you know im gonna say yes. "Well, you don't have to face plant into it!" Hinata laughed. "Yeah, totally. Do you want me to go first? Because I will. Should we make this a competition? Like, whoever gets out first gets a prize or something?"

“ that rhetorical question is just confusing “ ruby replied with humor on her face as soon as she looked at Gianna with a small smile. She was excited that the other woman had a level of enthusiasm for the idea and it made Ruby feel like she’d picked the right thing to do. “ I gotta figure out what my craft is. I heard that is really hard to do but also really fun. The way you could make some really cute stuff though. Or make hex dolls for people with bad exes “ she added thinking there wasn’t a meeker for that yet @giannasutherland

"Do you even live here?" Gianna teased as she looked at Ruby like she couldn't possibly be serious asking that question. While she certainly wasn't the most well-verse in the towns stories, there wasn't a craft store that she wouldn't go into when she was in her creative mode. "Of course I wanna go in! DIY is totally in so I could see you vlogging your experience. I actually want to get some knitting stuff. This girl popping up on my FYP page and she makes the cutest plush dolls so now I have to learn how to knit."

Ruby was not expecting that answer from the other as soon as she got a reply back. It wasn’t that she wasn’t used to being told no but more to the point she was surprised that the reaction was so serious. She’d hadn’t been to the craft house before so maybe she was missing something about the business. What do you mean monsters?” She asked glancing over to them. “ are they really mean or something ?”

She asked before glancing at the glance and seeing the interaction unfolding. “ what is going on?” She asked glancing between the store and Bernie. “ that does seem expensive. How much should they even cost? Like 20 cents?” @efficiiency

"Hm? Oh. No. I'm not going in there." Bernie's face holds a grim expression, fire licking at the corners of her eyes. She's yet to look away from the display window, even with someone talking directly to her. "As adorable as it would be to see you attempt basket weaving, I'm on full strike of The Craft House. They're nothing but monsters in there."

Bernie's voice lifts to a yell at the end, prompting the employee at the register to turn from their position behind the glass. They flip Bernie off, who returns the bird. Finally, she faces Ruby. "Besides, they don't even sell single sheets of scrapbooking paper. You think I'm going to pay twenty dollars for a big pack of ugly designs?" She scoffs. "As if."

“ you think I don’t love to do research? I’m an influencer obsessed with nostalgia. Research is my flirting “ Ruby replied giving him aq Look that proved she was gonna figure out something. Not as a threat but in the ‘ I am very good at research’ sort of way. After all she sort of prides herself on getting her historical facts right when it came to her fashion looks for her platforms. “ is that so? Am I hanging out with someone notorious?” She asked before shaking her head. “ I like most people. Getting me to dislike you would be having to have like do something pretty awful. Not acting a little unpleasant “

“ cheer up duty at your service” she noted giving him a small nod at the wager. “Is cheering you up with food an option?” She noted before her expression shifted and her eyes went wide at his wager. “ You’re serious? Okay.” She noted before nodding her head again, “ I’m not out for the dark and twisted. I just love a little gossip “ @eternalconsxlationprize

He hummed. "Yeah no, tough luck. You'll have to do your own research." he chuckled circling around her for a second. "But the gossip is juicy enough to make it worth your trouble." Yeah, Colton had made peace with that a while ago; he didn't exactly live like a monk in New York and people love a good gossip so there was always something to be written. He chuckled amused. "And here I thought I was making it hard on you..."

Getting a pair of skates and the key to a little locker to leave his things in, he chuckled. "Here's how we're doing it then." he offered "If I fall and bruise my ego, you're on cheer up duty. If I don't..you can ask a question about anything. Light gossip, dark and twisted..whatever, you'll get a secret." he held up a hand before she had the chance to say something "And I won't fall on purpose." || @xrubyredx

“ right? I heard there’s some stuff that people craft that are really niche and fun. Like making paper “ she replied shaking her head. She thinks she didn’t something like that in elementary school but she couldn’t be sure. “ I haven’t either. I think as soon as I got old enough it was more about it actually focusing on my classes versus being able to be imaginative “ @shyneknight

It had been ages since Shyne went to a craft store, but here he was and it felt pretty amazing. "I'm not sure, but doesn't hurt to check it out, right?" Could browse at least and see what there was. "Sure, sounds like it could be a fun interesting time." He agreed right away. "I haven't crafted much since I was a kid so really this is all just reminding me of those days." He was all for trying new and possibly getting a new hobby or side project out of it. Deep down he hoped writing would make something for him and maybe he'd leave the newspaper.

"I know my impulse control." Lucy conceals, "I strictly don't bring any candy into the house that would be too much for a binge." And that only really ever happened if she was on a movie marathon with friends, when Lucy would do so with her mother she'd request popcorn and the woman's own pastries instead. "You're a bad influence, you know that?" A grin strings upon the blonde's lips, looking back and forward between the shelf where she know she'd find the cotton candy, and her friend.

“ what were the dates, you got me curious and I love my research “ Ruby countered, loving a challenge when it came to people and when others tried to keep her from knowing something it always had her more curios. “ struggling sounds like I dislike you or something, which isn’t true “ Ruby admitted as she shook her head at his claim.

“ I’m just fascinated and I dislike secrets. Well then I’m screwed cause I doubt I’m earning anything by making you do this with me “ she noted as she kept skating back and forth in a three foot radius as she continued to talk to Colton “ I didn’t even get to do my frown yet. He pretended to think about it before shrugging. "I'm an open book; you can find all my secrets on previous issues of the New Yorker and such". Was he kidding? Partly —she wouldn't find his secrets but she'd definitely find some of his dirty laundry being aired. "You're struggling to like me right now, aren't you!?" Colton laughed. "Some things need to be earned overtime..." he winked.

Ruby was unsure what had possessed her to show up in front of the store but she had that impulsive streak that made her want to try new things. Never really anything too dangerous but just to move her out of her comfort zone. “ you think what you make is going to be worse than what I do? “ Ruby smiled. “ I genuinely don’t know what craft I’m gonna try. But I want to find the most niche thing possible “ @coradeveraux

Cora looks up at the store's name, wondering the very same thing Ruby was. How on earth had she ended up there? She was good at writing, but that was just about the only form of art she was decent at. Not that she did much of that these days either. "You know what? Sure. Why not? You're not allowed to make fun of whatever atrocity I create, though." @xrubyredx

Ruby smiled a little at the idea that she was gonna have a companion to look through all the aisles with but she glanced back as soon as he’d mentioned not trying something “please? I’m going to try to find the least popular thing to do in there; knowing I’ll probably fail. “ she offered knowing that she wasn’t going in it to mock anyone’s work but to just try to enjoy something that seemed niche. “ i would never take photos without your consent and I wouldn’t laugh either. Ruby started to laugh in response because to be honest she swore that was a thing, or maybe she was just still a little bit naive when she’d worked so long to not be that way. “ isn’t that a thing though? You know basket weaving? “ she replied unable to hide her smile. She had no idea how to do any of that. “ I’m gonna figure out if that’s a thing “ she said opening the door before pausing at the next sort of suggestion. “ really? Luce had met Ruby at the thrift store and the two easily hit it off, which is why she was now standing in front of the craft store, snorting softly at her friend's comment, "What do you mean making baskets? Like...weaving straw and shit? Cause I gotta say, I don't have much faith in that idea." She teased with a laugh, "But I will go in with you! I saw this tiktok the other day of a girl who hot glue gunned lace to her shorts and things and it looked cute as hell."

Sometimes when Ruby had a lot of free time she would walk around town and see if there was anything that inspired her for her accounts. A chance to take some cute aesthetic photos or a place to do some posts about. However there were some blind spots that she had in her life and as soon as she saw the front of the craft store she looked around like it just appeared when she knew for a fact it hadn’t. “ when did we get a craft store” She asked as she walked with it. “ Do you wanna go in with me and find the ‘most likely to go extinct’ art form they sell and try to do it? Like can you imagine me making baskets? “ she asked. This wasn't her suddenly deciding to give up fashion influencing for crafting but she had to admit she was curious“ it could be fun”

“You can always save them? I feel like it’s good to make sure that you have them just in case, you know? “ Ruby explained as she glanced over to the other woman with a small smile. “ like I love a sour gummy but I would eat them all if I had that package “ she admitted before her head shot up at the cotton candy. “ well wait okay, let’s not just give up and check out before we get that. That sounds like the most interesting purchase “ @lucydriscoll

"We gotta split a packet or something, I can't eat all the sour gummies on my own." Lucy holds the haul of sweets packets in her arm like cradling a baby. Of course the store had to be packed, all those little shopping baskets already in use. In her mind she'd planned a night to sit and watch movies with the candy until she crashed from the sugar. "I saw they make Doctor Pepper cotton candy now, I need to get out of here before I truly give up on my impulse control."
