Follow this blog for a t shirt a day for a year starting march 1st! Or don't. Either way is cool. Thanks!

This is one of my all time favorite t shirts. I still own it to this day.  It just has seen a lot of wear and tear.  I picked it up in Boston in the early 90’s when the Beavis and Butt-Head craze started.  My mom and I had just gotten out of a day game for the Red Sox and I saw it in a shop window.  It is most certainly a bootleg since they are wearing band shirts with actual band names on them (I’ll post a pic of the shirt later).  I lived in this thing throughout high school and beyond.   Maybe this is where my obsession with shirts started.  Who knows.

This town is drowning in douchebags.
There is a reason "game" as in "yo bro, I'm gonna run my game on that girl" rhymes with "lame" Just be yourself. How hard is that? Just. Be. Yourself.

Did he just say that in public?!
Dude came into the shop today with his family, a wife and a little kid (no more than 3 years old) While they were in the shop one kid comes out of the skatepark and asks about renting a scooter. Nate tells him of course he can rent one. Dude proceeds to approach the counter and asks Nate if it's true that we "rent out scooters now?" Nate says yes we do that and guy responds to Nate "what do you make them watch gay porn too?" Nate couldn't believe his ears and neither could I. The fact that this (and I use this term loosely) "person" thought this was ok to say to someone else let alone in public where others could hear him is mind blowing. As a society we need to call people on this bullshit. Don't stand by while that kid calls another a *insert homophobic slang here* explain and teach them where these hateful words came from and why it makes then look uneducated and unintelligent when they choose to use those words. Because it is a choice, we decide which words are going to come out of our mouths. It just really crushed me that this "adult" could have such a vile outlook on something that doesn't even concern him. Please free your mind.

Back to the days of college. Back to the days where we (the college radio station, WFPR) brought Kevin Smith to come speak to our school. His new film "Chasing Amy" was about to come out later that year and he showed us clips from it. Talked about life, movies, and recorded a spot for the station (from what I remember it went something along these lines) "WFPR, the thunder from the mountain....wait the thunder from the mountain!??! And I thought Silent Bob was bad..." Hopefully that is still in tact at Franklin Pierce. When he signed my poster for the event he asked how I wanted it made out. At the time Chris and I had "The Hump Day Show" on Wednesday nights. We called ourselves "The Sheep Pimps" for it. So I responded with "Sheep Pimp". Kevin looked up at me then wrote: "To the Sheep Pimp, I won't even ask.." Needless to say that was an amazing day.

This is America, so speak whatever language you would like.
To all the red white and blue flag wavers complaining about Cokes advertisement during the Super Bowl who were offended that “America the Beautiful” was sung in other languages other than English, please get over yourself. News flash: The United States of America DOES NOT have a national official language. Your comments were embarrassing, disgusting and down right racist, and then you wonder why the rest of the planet thinks we (fellow Americans) are all morons. Thanks for that world image, keep up the good work.

Just a young punk. So this album turned 20 yesterday. I was in high school when I stumbled across a cassette of a band I had never heard of, but I really liked the artwork. I picked it up and saw the title "dookie" immediately started to talk/laugh like a long lost brother to either Beavis and or Butt-Head. For $4.99 I took a chance on this cassette. What I never thought would happen did. I put that sucker in my tape player when I got home and was completely blown away by the guitar and especially the vocals. I listened to that cassette all the way through, and when it ended I just flipped it over and started again. It never got old. It didn't take very long for me to learn every word in all the songs. I spent more time on studying lyrics then actually studying. I started to learn songs on guitar and honestly fell in love with the band and the style. To this day "dookie" is still in my top 10 all time records. It helped me get through the hell that was Rutland High School. That tape would be in my Walkman on my journey to and from school. I quickly grabbed their older releases and every bootleg I could get my hands on at The Sound Barrier. Long story short this was a very important record for a young outcast. So Green Day from me to you; thanks for making it.
